PIANOS NEW AND USED

Good overall experience with this business.

I have a 1938 Hamilton made by Baldwin 5-foot grand. It was very beat up and cats had scratched it and thrown up on it. I knew I was going to move so I didn't have it finished in Virginia when the last cat died in 2003. When I came to Colorado Springs in April 2010 to do some house-hunting, I visited 3 piano shops to talk to the owners about refinishing my piano. They were all very nice and would all probably have done a good job, but I liked the Pianos New & Used shop best, so picked them. Rick was very reassuring about being able to refinish the piano and make it look good. The movers got here on September 1st and delivered the piano to the piano shop. I was downtown on October 5th so went in to the shop to check on the piano - Rick said it was coming along nicely and almost finished. I got a call from him on November 11th, I think, telling me they could deliver the piano on November 17th. I am thrilled to have my piano in my new house and I am delighted with the way it looks.

Well, after careful measurement, Rick determined that my piano would not fit up the stairs of my Victorian era home. We couldn't leave it at our old house, as we were scheduled to close on the sale later that day. Rick offered some options including more men/cost with no guarantee, trading in the piano for a smaller model, and storing the piano in his warehouse. We decided to store the piano until we could decide what to do with it. In the end, we found a place for it downstairs in our new home and Rick delivered it for the quoted price plus $25 for needing to make two trips. That seemed more than fair to me. He didn't even charge us for storage!
