MAJESTIC CUSTOM HOMES

We have built several homes with semi-custom and custom home builders. Each time we learn a little more about the process and how to really tailor it to suit our needs. The last one with Majestic Home here in Colorado Springs netted us exactly what we were looking for. Of course the process at times could be a bit overwhelming and not everything always goes to plan. All things considered we are very happy with the home and the level of engagement we had received from both Toni and John (Majestic owners). For privacy reasons not going to share a photo of the house here but it is kinda a cool one. Nice rancher with a 6-car RV garage. Really offers us the amenities we really wanted and a level of uniqueness in our community. I would look to both Toni and John if we were again looking to change out our place. We actually learned a lot from them through the development and warranty period of the home building process. Home building is both a big financial transaction as well as an emotional engagement. It is tough on both sides of the equation so having great communication, erring on the side of fact based decisions/resolutions and putting as much in clear, concise writing helps make the process much smoother. If you are looking for a higher end home we do not think you would go wrong with Majestic

We signed a contract to have a semi-custom home built with Toni Stanton, The owner of Majestic Custom Homes on March 23rd, 2012. She told us verbally at that time that she expected to break ground by the 1st week of May and that it should only take about 4-6 months to complete and that they would do their best to be finished in September. The written contract stated that worst case scenario would be 8 months from the date of the contract which would have been November. They finally broke ground on June 9th and then let the hole sit there until August 22nd when they finally poured the footers. We did not close on the house until March 8, 2013, 15 days short of a full year from when we signed the contract. Even then there were no countertops in the kitchen and several other things missing or not finished on that day. It took them another full month to complete all of those items. They also agreed in writing in our contract to change several things from there basic floorplan (i.e. location of the mech room, enlarge the master closet area, and the location of the range) then refused to do so when building the home. We were flat lied to about why the changes weren't being done. At one point Toni even told our realtor that they "couldn't have their customers dictate how their homes were built". It was without a doubt the worst experience of our lives and the home had such bad feelings for us that we have sold it and are currently living with my parents while we build another house. During the process we even consulted with an attorney that told us he felt we had a case against them on at least three accounts if we wanted to pursue it although it would be a difficult procedure and that he was familiar with them and that they bordered on fraud in many of their practices. We would advise people to do thorough research before they consider doing business with Majestic Custom Homes. Anyone that is foolhardy enough to want to do business with Majestic Custom homes, please DO NOT sign a contract without having a lawyer review it first!
