Awful took shortcuts and then would not respond to requests for corrections. Contract listed installing landscape fabric and ground preparation in the areas being rocked in .They skimped on landscape fabric, only overlapped 1 inch and did not cover all the rock areas with landscape material . Also did not spray weed killer where the rocks were going, so less than 2 months later I am pulling bags of weeds from the xeriscaped area. They also did not place landscape fabric behind the wall, which is standard practice, so I have weeds growing through the cracks in the new wall. Many other parts of this job were substandard that does not fit in this category. The design was nice but the workmanship was shoddy and many shortcuts were taken. To be doing this much labor within two months of paying over $9000 for low maintenance xeriscaping is wrong. This would have been a better review if they had only taken the courtesy of returning calls and attempted to fix a few of these things. At this point they refuse to even answer the BBB complaint
Description of Work: Rebuilt retaining wall and installed a lot of rock as part of a total xeriscaping project.

Lawnscape finished 10 days late but some of it was weather related so I accepted that. I signed off at 9 PM at night about May 10th, on because had to leave out of town. On vacation I received a call that the back yard sprinkler system was flooding my foundation and back yard and had to get a neighbor to go inside my house to shut the water off because Lawnscape would not respond to my calls. Result was an additional $219 water bill and almost losing 4 plants because they could not be watered in the heat and my front yard grass suffering. When I returned they billed me an ADDITIONAL $150 to attempt to repair their sprinkler system installation. After 5 tries and they would not returning a call, I had another sprinkler company come and repair the work in 15 minutes for $150.00. One month later due to Lawnscape not putting landscaping fabric behind the retaining wall or overlaying the fabric in the rock area and in some areas laid no fabric and they also did not do the ground preparation that was in the contract by spraying the rock areas with weed killer, I had weeds growing all over my back yard, where ever there was no fabric, at metal dividers and in the middle of the rock where the fabric was not overlapped by more than 1 inch. Two months later, I had to get a quote of $450. to get bags of weeds pulled out of my rock and wall and weed killer applied. After paying $9,200 I am paying $969 to make my new xeriscaped yard ready for my September event. From June 25th on Lawnscape will not respond to me, the Better Business Bureau or the company that referred this business. What I have paid so far is a short term fix. I will have to have fabric installed behind my retaining wall to prevent future weeds and dirt coming through the cracks (over $500). I may have to replace 4 plants for a cost of $100. I likely will have the metal landscape dividers re-layed as some are visible 1 inch above the rock (acceptable) and some areas are 4-5 inches above the rock. One divider came out of the ground when a large 2 foot weed was pulled. For the price I paid there should have not been shortcuts and shoddy work. I have always been respectful in dealing with them and should have received the courtesy of a reply and someone coming out to fix the problems. I paid this money because I can not due alot of yard work and wanted a low maintenance xeriscaped back yard. Instead I was taken advantage of.
Description of Work: Rebuilt my retaining wall, had a tree company remove two trees, planted trees and plants, laid alot of rock and mulch for xeroscaping and installed a sprinkler system.

Extremely smooth. As stated above, one of the easiest contractor/business owners I have ever worked with on projects. His two guys showed up, had the front lawn removed and tilled before I even realized they were working. Very professional. Next day they were back and had the everything prepped for the sod and went straight away to getting everything done fast. Any future work I am planning will be done by Lawnscapes.
Description of Work: Bought my house last summer. The front lawn had been neglected for years - no saving it. I called around, had estimates done by 10 different landscapers. Lawnscapers was the second cheapest for all 5 of my projects. I heard about them from a friend who had used them on her house and she raved at how good they are. Figured I'd give them a try. Mike and his guys have been top notch. Responsive for questions, the work has been done fast and through. This required ripping out all the old sod that was dead, removing a tree, redesigning the front lawn, moving the sprinklers to fit the new reduced landscape, repairing a broken sprinkler pipes, and planting 3 bushes and 2 trees. One of the easiest contractors I have ever worked with on projects. Mike is upfront with costs, expectations, and care of the new lawn. There are no gaps in the sod, which looks really good even semi-dormant, the tree is standing great, and the everything is being done quickly. My estimates were done last summer, and I booked him first thing for the spring. Must say I am impressed all around.
