Homestead Improvements

Nekole G of Homestead Improvements recently completed two major tasks in our Master Bathroom. She replaced an antiquated tub and surrounding shelf with an Ella’s Bubbles ‘Big4One” Walk-in Tub, the surrounding shelf and adjacent tile floor. Her workmanship was outstanding and the end result is close to perfection. In the second task she replaced old square tile with hexagon tile and repainted the toilet room. Our Master Bathroom has been transformed from an eyesore to a modern masterpiece. Nekole is very knowledgeable and professional. She is also a pleasant to work with. I strongly recommend her for virtually any remodeling task. I also note that she did an excellent job of cutting our cat’s toenails

A friend of mine who had a bathroom remodel completed in her home referred Nekole to my husband and me. This was after Pete Wasilewski, owner of CPC Contractors, walked off the job after four months of incomplete on our ¾ basement bathroom. Nekole showed us where our former contractor performed substandard workmanship and then quickly, and efficiently, performed the demolition work. The remodel was completed by one (1) woman in less time than the three-man team who was previously working on it. Nekole’s performance and temperament are astonishing, we love her passion and pride for her work. I would recommend her to anyone who asks, which is why we are already on her schedule for future work within our home.

Nekole is a pleasure to work with. Hardworking, gracious, fun to have around. She is very open to homeowners' ideas for cutting costs and has many great suggestions of her own. Our bathroom was transformed in record time (8 days) with a little bit of help from us--we did some demo work and shopping but not much else. Tiles look great! Other tradespeople on her team are also quick workers, very polite. We are already hiring Nekole again! So much of our home needs her expert attention!

I had two sections of fence blow down and one post snap during the March blizzard. I called Nekole the next day and the fence was repaired in a week. I also had her convert one section of fence into a gate. Work went well.

It went great! A few years ago, Nekole redid our upstairs bathroom and did a wonderful job. We had her come back to remodel our family room, the first step in fixing up the rest of the house. We had new paint, floors, recessed lighting in the laundry closet, baseboards, doors and door frames done, as well as all the associated jobs. Once again, Nekole and her crew did a fantastic job. I highly recommend Homestead Improvements; Nekole is an expert and a professional and knows exactly what she's doing, and she has exceptional people working with her. You can't go wrong with Homestead Improvements.

Nekole completed a bathroom remodel for me. I am very pleased with the results! Nekole is very easy to work with, she is professional and listens to what you want and makes sure you are in agreement before she starts any work. She also has good suggestions if you are unsure about something. The tile work is beautiful. The work was completed in a timely manner. She also did a partial remodel on another bathroom replacing the vanity, sink, toilet, and moving a wall cabinet.

Homestead Improvements (owned by Nekole Gudmunson) did a master bathroom remodel for us. It looked poorly done so we got some second opinions. Three general contractors (all tilers), an interior designer, and seven friends (who had all had remodeling work done on their houses) said it was very amateurish (like putting a bull-nose tile in the middle of four regular tiles - see photo below). We hired another general contractor to redo the job. He said that Nekole didn’t use any sealant behind the shower tiles and that the shower seat was improperly sloped. Plus, she cut half way down through one of the floor joist, which our engineer said was definitely a “bad scenario”. Additionally, there was a tear in the rubber liner at the base of the shower – our new contractor estimates it would have started leaking in about 3-4 years. Also, as of March 19, 2019, the three “reviews” at the bottom of her website (by “Liza”, “Rick” and “Sia”) are not hers. They were copied from other websites on the Internet. We do not recommend Nekole’s work to anyone.

Very well! Nekole arrived when scheduled and efficiently completed gutter cleaning. It took a while to get on her schedule, but that worked out for both of us.

Nekole is by far the best contractor I have worked with. Her personal attention during my extensive master bathroom remodel made the process as stress-free as possible. She was always patient and helpful, advising me on materials, and meeting me at all tile, granite, flooring, etc stores to coordinate choices together to help realize my desired designs and aesthetic while still keeping costs under control. She focused fully on my project, personally supervised all others such as electricians and plumbers that were brought in, kept me updated and responded to communications immediately. I so enjoyed working with Nekole that this is actually the third job I have hired her for. She also did a full remodel of a basement bathroom and a partial remodel of another bathroom, all with beautiful custom tile work for shower and floor. I would definitely hire Nekole again.

Because of different floor heights (shower basin and bathroom floor), Nekole had to custom make a shower curb that would ensure the water flowed off of the shower door into the shower basin and not out onto the shower floor as before. Her design worked great.

The work was done quickly, and very cost effective. My new roof and gutters were all installed in a matter of days . everything looks great and the whole area was cleaned up nicely after the work was completed. Thanks for such good work at a good price.
