Everything was fine. He was definitely on time. I would use the subcontractor again, but I will not use Home Depot again.

Description of Work: The first day they were scheduled to show up in a 2-4 hour time frame. I called because they hadn't shown up and I was advised they were stuck on another job, So I rescheduled for the next day. They were scheduled to arrive between 8am-12pm. I called at 12:15pm to hear the guy had ran out of gas. I then just cancelled the service with them. They never even took the time to keep me posted, I had to reach out to them.

Description of Work: This review pertains only to a carpet purchase and installation. I have purchased carpet from them before and the experience was good, but it was about 10 years ago. Apparently, everything is outsourced now. Once you talk with a store representative, and they enter the order, you no longer are dealing with them. Someone came out to measure and I had to pay $50 for that (it is refunded if you order). Another entity schedules and installs the carpet. My installers never showed up and never called. I called the installers and had to be transferred numerous times before being connected to the right person to look into the delay. She was never able to reach them, either, so we rescheduled. Of course, they had no openings and I had to wait an additional 9 days. Once they came, the installers were professional and efficient and did a good job. No problem with the product or the work, once it actually was done. Nevertheless, I don't think I will be buying carpet from Home Depot anymore.

Finally got The issues on dishonesty resolved through the BBB, paid yesterday will be installed within 3 weeks. Home Depot gave me a reduction of $175.00 on the carpet. Three weeks later the carpet came... The installers got to the last bedroom and the carpet was shredded from the loader machine. They reported it ti Home depot and Home Depot told me the would expedite the order. When the order came in Home Depot told me I had to wait two to three weeks for the install.....needless to say I went ballistic, I had waited long enough. I told them to deliver the carpet I would find and pay someone else to install the last room. They stated that it would not fall under warranty if I did that. This was a nightmare.... The room that did not get carpet had the tack strips installed so it would only take 15 to 20 minutes to put the carpet in. We had furniture blocking access to areas waiting for the carpet. FINALLY they squeezed us in a few days later.
Description of Work: Home Depot had a measuring service come out to measure my 3 rooms I was to have carpeted. They called me and told me the 3 rooms measured 633 Sq. ft.. I knew this was not true because another professional company had already measured. So I measured and rounded ALL measurements up to give them the benefit of the doubt. My measurement was 531 sq. ft.. I called them back and told them what had transpired to this point and my measurement. They THEN admitted that my square footage was only actually 505 sq. ft. and I would be charged for around $275 in scrap carpet. It took me around three weeks to get this issue resolved. Now that I have paid it will be an additional 3 weeks for carpet. Too much time wasted on dishonesty......

I was really getting fed up and looking forward to waiting another who knows how long to get it loaded in my truck. Much to my surprise and delight, a friendly young gentleman loaded the grill up for me and just made my day so much nicer. HIs name is Michael and I will only return to the Home Depot because of his customer service. He should be given a raise. And the rest of the employees including someone called an expeditor should be courteous instead of being snobbish and rude. Let Michael teach them or something. . .
Description of Work: I special ordered a propane gas grill and had to come back to the store twice to get it right. I was really getting disturbed by the long lines and gabby employees that didn't seem to care to much about what I needed.

I had purchased flooring at the store at Woodmen and Powers. I did not like how I was treated and did not want to go there to make the return. I went to this store at Woodmen and Academy since I do all my shopping there. Tina R worked so hard to get this done and finally had to have the other store credit my card and personally drive the items over to them! She went way above and beyond. I always get exceptional service at this store.

y.We purchased an electric cooktop replacement for our home. The hole for installation was one inch too small in both length and width. In addition, the cooktop required being directly wired, as opposed to the older top that plugged in to a 220 volt receptacle. The sales person appeared to be very uninterested in selling us an appliance. He gave very little information, but since we knew what we wanted, we wrote up the sale anyway. He told us that it would have to be ordered but would come in 2 days. When the paperwork was done, he said that it would come on Wednesday, which was 6 days away. We did not learn that the unit needed wiring and the adjustment until we were home, so went back to the store to arrange for installation. Kimberly, at the service counter, was extremely helpful and polite, making us feel more confident about our decision. She said that we would hear from the store on Monday morning about arrangements. Lorraine called to tell us that we needed to give money up front before installation. We did that. She indicated that we would hear from their installer. No one called on Monday. On Tuesday we called again and spoke to Lorraine. She did not have any information and indicated that she was having trouble with the installer but would get back to us. On Wednesday we called asking that some information be given about installation as the appliance would be delivered that day, and the agreement was that the old cook top would be removed. She did not call back before it was delivered. We called Lorraine again, who said she had sent our phone number to the installer. When we asked if we could expect to hear today, she said that it might not be until the next day. We were also told that someone would then arrange a time to come to look at the job, and then set yet another date to come install the cooktop. That is a long time to be without a cooking appliance. We found a local service who were willing to come quickly to install our appliance for us. Both a carpenter and an electrician would come out on the same day. A different person at Home Depot took our call when we called to cancel our installation and request a refund of money paid. He was polite, efficient, apologized for our experience and refunded our money. We will purchase any other appliances we may need from some place else. I gave a D rating based on the good experience we had with Kimberly at the service counter. An F grade would otherwise be more accurate for this experience.
Description of Work: We ordered and purchased an electric cooktop and Home Depot was to arrange for installation with an outside contractor that they selected.

Quote in the store was less than half of what was quoted once the measuring service came out. I measured before I went to the store . Noone I talked to there could tell me why the brice was more than double what the salesman quoted. Measuring service indicated there were multiple layers of vinyl on the floor and there are not, there is only one. I am the original owner of the home and chose the vinyl flooring that is in there now. Took 4 days for Home Depot to call me with the actual quote and they only called after I called them 3 times to inquire about the estimate. I was given an 800 number to call. Never received a single email from them, yet they continue to call my home and leave messages to ask if I have questions about the emails they sent to me. I made sure they had the correct email and STILL nothing in my inbox. When I asked what was in the email they couldn't tell me. I will obtain additioanl quotes from other companies.

There's nothing to dislike. It took time to get our door since it's a specialty order. But the subcontractor they used was very professional. They were on time and they cleaned up. They did a great job. I will recommend them.

The Home Depot design people were very polished and professional in their review of the various countertop options. They were very upfront about the fact that Home Depot contracts with, well vetted, outside firms for the installation of the Home Depot retailed product. After the product and color was chosen (after liberal use of home samples) the cost estimate was made. The folks HD even indicated that if we would wait to make the formal order, the Silestone was going to go on sale the next month. We took advantage of that as it was worth maybe $400.00. The product was installed by the subcontractor who did a quick and high quality job.The only real problem we had was the scheduling of the installation. The contractor is used all over the state (Colorado) by Home Depot and precise scheduling in an (apparently) busy market is tough. We had a time scheduled, at which my wife took a day off of work. The contractor did not show as he was hung up in a distant city on another job. We had to reschedule with a loss of another vacation day. To their credit, the HD folks, upon a complaint call, issued us a gift card as compensation for the inconvenience.Overall, we had a good experience. The product is great, the cost was reasonable and right on estimate, and the installation quality was superb.

After I paid for the materials and installation of a new shower they kept coming up with excuses as to why they had to walk off the job. My husband and son in law kept having to do more and more prep work finally rebuilding the entire shower frame and we had to have a termite inspection (no termites) and it just became a night mare. This went on for weeks. We kept having to buy more and more materials. They did not even deliver the materials we originally bought like they were supposed to in the contract. We finally got a refund for the labor and did the job ourselves. They were rude and I never once had a phone conversation with the store without having to be put on hold and transferred to at least 4 people before I finally got to someone who knew about the project. They refused to do the work finally because the shower back wall was 3.8 of an inch wider at the top than at the bottom. They bid a 3 week job for 1 day and gave us many excuses and demanded we call another.
Description of Work: They came out and contracted to do the work with an estimate. Refused several times to complete the work and walked off the job.
