High West Siding and Windows, Inc.

I was looking to have an awning installed on the back of my house after we acquired it in Sept 2021. October, I called to ask High West Siding at 20 Mount View Ln Colorado Springs, CO to come give me an estimate. On Oct 25 2021, I had Logan come out and get measurements and sign a contract. Not knowing any better, I asked when I could expect for this project to be completed. Logan said that they are generally busy, but said that the timeframe I could expect would be 3 to 6 months. I NEVER asked for this in writing and now I'm seriously regretting it. After applying for a loan with Green Sky, a home improvement loan company that High West Siding referred, I was approved for $36k which was used to start the process. Toni Kurtz was the individual who would oversee my project. Now, after not dealing with or worrying about this business dragging their feet due to high reviews/ratings, I end up calling in May and August of 2022 talking to Toni to find out that they did exactly what I was not worried about, which was dragging their feet with not filing the permits, sending the measurements to their factory to cut my awning, and pulling money out of the loan from Green Sky (which only stays open for 6 months before they close the account). After threatening to cancel the contract because of just how long they were taking I asked Toni that I wanted to cancel the contract and get a full refund. She explained that I could not cancel the contract without forfeiting what I paid into it and an estimated $8K+ more to "cancel" satisfactorily on their end. I quickly changed her tone when I said that I'd hire an attorney. Toni offered me to pay off loan herself because she is a single mother and she really needed her job and could not take the hit for me cancelling. She said that she was severely swamped and had to clean up other employee's messes which played a part on why my awning wasn't already built. She promised me 1,500 off to keep the project going. I reluctently accepted after hearing her sob story and I really did want that awning built. After all this, I didn't hear anything from High West Siding or Toni until November or December of 2022. Andrew [Name Redacted], Toni's replacement informed me that my awning was ready to be installed. During this call, I asked him that after this awning was installed, would I owe anything out of pocket? He said no. I then agreed on a date in Jan 2023 to have the work done to install the awning. I had a great experience with the installers/contractors who came over and did the work, which was amazing! I honestly can't praise them enough. The problem I had after it was completed was when Andrew [Name Redacted] came over to complete the paperwork and AMBUSH me with a final payment of $29,751.04. I was shocked because I specifically asked him if I would have any out of pocket expenses AFTER the completion which he said no, there wouldn't be any surprises. He told me that I need to reapply for another loan with Green Sky, have my wife take out a loan, or ask family because they/High West Siding does not accept monthly payments (which after hiring an attorney, Andrew contacted me to try and do just that/set up payments). He countlessly threatened me with placing a lien against our home for their mistakes, because Green Sky, their lending partner, only kept the accounts open for 6 months unless I called to have my loan extended for another 6 month, which High West knew about, but I didn't. After exhausting all means with Green Sky on reopening my loan with Green Sky with no success, trying to set up some form of payment plan until my wife got back to work, and trying to get help from family, we were left with no other alternative, but to hire an attorney and ask for a payoff settlement. They won't even agree to that and want full payment or face foreclosure. We have offered up a settlement on this, but High West Siding has rejected every single one and refuse to accept their own mistakes. BEWARE!!! Their contracts are basic/general and ONLY benefit them! From Oct 25, 2021 when the initial contract was signed, til Jan 28, 2023 when the awning was completed, took 460 days or 1 year 3 months and 3 days.

Everything from start to finish was a great experience. Did have a backorder on a door but the end result was a beautifully finished room.

Although is was a long process with a few bumps in the road, they all got filled in and smoothed over. In the end, our new patio cover is a tremendous addition and we couldn't be more pleased. Crew was always polite and professional. Thanks guys!

High West Siding built a custom roof over an existing pagoda on our upper deck. They did a beautiful job! Their ongoing updates were very helpful and reassuring, especially during this pandemic. The quality of work was exception and the crew was very professional. We couldn't ask for a better experience! The roof now protects our upper deck as well as a lower patio.

We originally contacted High West to help us do a partial residing of our house due to hail damage They worked hard to find a match for our old siding but in the end we found out it was discontinued. We decided to reside the entire house, and JR our design/salesperson came up with a fabulous design to bring our dated bi-level house into the 21st century. Everyone who has seen it raves how good it looks! The installation crew were courteous, professional, and paid great attention to detail, down to clean up every night. We are so happy, we give them 10 stars!!

I can’t say enough good things about this company! Marie and JR took great time to explain how siding works and helped me understand what good materials look like. They helped me pick out the right material, colors, and style. I felt confident hiring High West right from the start. I was very pleased with the time and attention to detail JR and Robert put into the job. Every little nook and cranny has beautiful and solid lines. I’m so happy with how fantastic my house looks, and it feels secure and strong. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire High West again!

Excellent from beginning to end. Great planning, product, execution and customer service. Every employee was professional, competent and considerate. They exceeded our expectations in every phase of the project.

The project manager was good about providing me updates of the arrival of materials and the ETA for the install to take place. The provider of materials TEMO, took a long time, but that can be expected with anything sunroom related. My job was a difficult job that I think they handled with great expertise. They had to replace a badly hail damaged sunroom roof from the 90's and integrate a brand new TEMO sunroom roof. They made a recommendation of inclining the sunroom roof more to allow for better drainage which required integrating into the main composite shingled roofline--again not an easy job. Brian and his son were out here having to shovel snow off practically every time, but they pulled through in the end and were always trying to make sure you were satisfied with the progress. Very professional and nice to talk with too. I can also state from experience, that if there was a problem and even after paying them in full, they still were very responsive and came back out to address any issues. I will hire them again when we have enough money to do the walls of the sunroom and integrate the whole TEMO system.

Windows being replaced is always going to provide some kind of inconvenience; rearranging furniture or non-use of this or that room for a few hours. With this in mind, our experience with High West was seamless and relatively quick on the above mentioned discomforts. They were in and out of our way without much, if any, issues. Great crew of people J.R. at High West provides. Will do it again in a heartbeat.

We contracted with High West for them to install a Temo patio cover, New Gutters and installation of Soffits. We kept us informed from the time of signing the contract to the final installs. We knew at what states, the amount of money that was due and timeframe that it would be due. During construction, all of the workers were very pleasant and hardworking and they cleaned up at the end of every work day. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Very well! The front porch came out better than expected. The back porch cover had an issue, but JR, Darren, and crew were great at rectifying is satisfactorily. We are very happy!

High West did an awesome job. Great work ethic, punctual, professional and straightforward. Good comms. It was a difficult job re: access and removal of 8 15’ high single pane rattling glass panels(!) and they were equipped for it. After 2 companies saw our job and begged off, High West took it on, and we couldnt be happier with the new design, tight installation and beauty of the windows and the view. Looking forward to seeing the new products response to the elements. No more drafty, wind vulnerable living room!

fter research and actually talking and viewing other dealer products, High West easily beat them all. We live in Woodmoor where the Home Owners Association does not allow steel siding. JR told us the benefits of steel siding and we absolutely loved the color, look and texture of steel. We asked the HOA for an exception to the steel siding rule. JR accompanied us to the HOA meeting and convinced the board steel was good for Woodmoor. They agreed! Woodmoor is now allowing steel siding because of the great efforts of JR Little. Our home has many angles and irregular areas. The detail High West achieved really helped to “pop” these areas. JR, J.T., Darren, Cody and Jonny are true artists! The transformation of our home by High West is amazing. Not only is our home beautiful, we’ve also seen a reduction in our heating and cooling bills. You will not be disappointed in High West!

The finished product is beautiful, inviting and cost effective. The design process was easy and flexible. The construction crew was professional, talented, thoughtful and polite. From beginning to end, we have been thrilled! Thanks so much High West!

What began as a nightmare came with very happy ending. We needed siding and got bids from several companies. We decided to go with High West after spending time with one of their previous clients. The siding on her house looked good and she was quite complimentary of service she had received from the company. High West hired a subcontractor to do our job, and they assured us he was one of their best. For over a month, the man leisurely worked solo on the project. Examining the job in progress, we had reservations about the quality of workmanship we were receiving, but we were assured that it would all look great when it was done. When he left, there were patches tacked over cracked trim, panels misaligned and numerous gaps smeared with putty. That’s not how I remembered the reference house looking, so we wanted to take another look. We called J.R., one of the company owners who sold us the project and asked for her phone number. He wondered what was wrong. We told him, and when he returned from New York a few days later, he came out for a look. He was not happy and promised to make it right. Instead of sending someone out to patch things up, J.R. personally came out. Sweating in the height of summer heat, he and a pair of assistants completely tore off all the old siding and redid the entire job. The house, now totally redone, looks great. Although it took several long months to do, undo and get redone, we’re happy with the final siding job. I love that we didn’t have to scream, yell or threaten High West to get them to make things right. They said the subcontractor’s work was not up to their standards, and instead of simply trying to patch things up, they redid the entire job. It’s rare to find a company with that level of quality commitment. And by the way, that original subcontractor no longer does work for them.

High West Siding and Windows saved the steel siding on our house after a previous company totally bungled it up. We were so impressed with the knowledge and patience of the salesman JR, they came through with everything he said they would. I can’t say enough good things about the installers, JT and Nick (and their crew). Their skill level and professionalism was top notch and since our house was built in 1950 and had settled here, there and everywhere, installing the siding was challenging at best. They did a fabulous job! Everyone we dealt with at this company was friendly, polite and skilled at their job. Our house siding looks so beautiful and it has definitely added to the inside comfort as well. We love this company!

We are pleased with our new sunroom. First-rate workmanship, first-class service- polite, professional, responsive, knowledgeable. We were provided a schedule up front and informed/warned that once High West ordered the TEMO sunroom material/kit from the factory in New York we would be at the mercy of the factory's backlog as far as the waiting time for it to ship. Unfortunately TEMO was experiencing higher order volume and we had quite a wait, but we had been informed ahead of time about this and the fact that this time period in the schedule was outside the control of High West. Likewise we were informed that other projects ahead of ours, and weather affecting other projects ahead of ours as well as ours, could also add delay. Other than that, High West worked promptly thru all of the many steps required before the first shovelful of dirt could be dug. Throughout the project everyone was polite, professional, responsive and knowledgeable.

High West was one of the few contractors that actually submitted a bid for my project. Several others came out, looked around, took measurements, but failed to follow up afterward. I have personal experience putting up siding and I would say the workers did a pretty good job. They were also polite, friendly and professional. They initially did not completely follow the siding manufacturer's installation guidelines, but were very responsive and accommodating to my corrections on that as well as my particular requests for flashing and other installation details. They worked thoroughly, methodically and did not rush the job. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work that was done. This project was to reside one wall of my house. I will likely hire them to reside the other three walls in the spring.

Review of High West Siding – Patio Remodel – 7/20/2017 to 7/3/2018: Rating of 2 out of 5, one for starting and one for finishing the project, but the rest was terrible. We gave High West our deposit and signed their contract July 20, 2017 and was told the project would be done in about 3 months. It took an entire year due to delays caused by their incompetent project manager. Their contract has no date to finish so make sure you hold them to a date to finish. We hired them to install a prefabricated Temo product to cover and enclose our patio, the enclosed space was less than 200 square feet, it was a very small project, but cost $47,000. We got their first set of drawings at the end of August, 6 weeks after we signed the contract, we were told the drawings would take about three weeks. These drawings had significant errors, including the wrong dimensions. We pointed out these errors and over the next several months we got several revised drawings but the revisions still had most of the same errors. High West finally submitted the building permit application along with the erroneous drawings to Boulder County in November 2017, four months after we signed the contract. The County requested information about numerous discrepancies and after another four month delay, they issued the permit in March 2018 and noted 13 issues that needed to be resolved, including contradictions related to the wrong dimensions and the lack of drawings to show how the new roof attached to the existing roof. We got numerous emails from the High West project manager about how bad it was to work with Boulder County, but this was just a cover story to hide his own incompetence. High West also said they would use these erroneous drawings to order the prefabricated material for the roof and walls. After many emails with High West about the drawings having wrong dimensions, they rejected my concerns, saying the County had issued the permit so the drawings must be right. I had to hire my own structural engineer to review the drawings and meet with High West to point out their errors and correct their drawings to prevent the wrong materials from being ordered. The work started in May 2018, and dragged on until July 2018. Much of this delay was caused by the lack of coordination by the High West project manager in getting the 13 issues resolved for the County. High West actually tried to schedule rough inspections with the County knowing that these issues had not been resolved. I had to check with the County and tell High West that the inspections they told us were scheduled we in fact not scheduled. They were too arrogant and did not respect the very significant issues raised by the County, which are only intended to protect the consumer. In addition to their incompetent management, there were significant issues at the work site, including numerous nails and screws left in our driveway for several days, cigarette butts left all over the work site. The first few days they had 4 to 5 guys working and had not delivered a porta-potty to the work site, which was required by the building permit, and I had to email the project manager to get the potty. There were several failed inspections which had to be fixed and caused more delays before work could continue. After the project was finally done, I spent several hours summarizing these issues and emailed my detailed notes to the management at High West, only to get vague assurances that this not how they usually work. The owner sent me a second reply and said he would look into reimbursing my $1,400 engineering fee, but then never followed up and did not reimburse me. Par for the course. I would NOT recommend them for any construction projects

Perfect installation team! We had a few hiccups with delivering and some design issues but the installation guys and PM worked it out and every issue was resolved with great results. The crew went the extra mile in clean-up and keeping the site clean when they left in the evening. As a Home inspector and being in the building industry for a few decades I know how construction works. I was expecting to be disappointment and get the typical contractor "run around" but that is not what happened. The installation and their PM bent over backwards with a focus on quality and making their client happy! It was great working with this team of experts!

Fabulous, outstanding, timely, clean and cost effective. If there is ever an issue I would call them. They are very prompt, and showed up when needed.

Got off to a slow start with setting new piers for the deck but everything was taken care of and construction was done very professionally and changes were easily done. In the end we had problem with the french doors not being what we wanted and Hi West showed they were all about customer satisfaction so we were able to have them get a better more upscale door at their cost with installation included. The final product turned out much better than expected with no problems since final inspection.

J.R., Greg, and Crew, I cannot begin to thank you enough for all of your effort and hard work you put in to complete and do this job! I found myself in, what I thought to be, an unwinnable situation. When I discovered that I have several cracked and broken fiber-cement boards around my house due to poor manufacturing quality and defects, I was beside myself. This was even more exasperated when most contractors said to rip-off and replace the whole siding, paint over the cracks and no-one would notice, or simply walked away saying, "We don?t want to touch this situation." When Greg came to my house to look at the situation, he said? ?We can do that!? (replace only the cracked and broken fiber cement boards). I was skeptical because of my how so many other contractors reacted when I asked them the same questions and also of my knowledge of how brittle the fiber cement siding can be. To re-assure me, J.R. (the owner of High West) came out to look at the situation, described how he would approach replacing the cracked siding w/o causing damage to the siding above and below the bad pieces. His confidence and knowledge helped me trust that he knew what he was doing and how to do it right. What impressed me most about High West was their willingness to go the extra mile and their quality of their work. When there were delivery issues (2 times), they made the trek up to Denver to get the right materials so that the project would not be delayed. They worked hard, we laughed, and helped make a bad situation turn out as best as I could have hope for. In some cases, there are people who are jacks-of-all-trades and master of none, but with J.R. and his experience, he truly is a jack-of-all-trades and a master of the house building and remodeling business! I was impressed by his knowledge, the emphases of doing things the correct way (even when it was beyond what ?code? requires) and his insistence from himself and his crew(s) in doing quality work. So, if there are any people who need to replace the cracked fiber cement siding on your house because of poor manufacturing, give High West a call! I highly recommend them to fix, repair, and replace the damaged siding at a fair and reasonable price? and if I were to build a house in the future, I would hire them in a heartbeat! They were very professional, honest, and responsive to my needs. They communicated promptly and were easy to get in touch with and talk to about everything that needed to be done or any of my concerns. The work was done on time and very efficiently and the final product looks wonderful. I appreciated the fact that they could do a variety of things and I didn't need to get a different contractor for each item I needed done. They did a fabulous job and everybody was friendly, courteous and a joy to work with. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs some work done on their house.
