Hauling by Steve

I had emergency flooding in my apt which required that I needed help to remove a lot of crates and books removed from my apartment almost immediately. This was impacting my health. I emailed Steve and very early in am, he responded. He did not have time to schedule for that day, but called back and made an emergency pickup late that afternoon! This was really important and saved me a trip to ER! He is great, responsive and takes care of his customer.

I called Steve and got a price quote for hauling away my yard debris. He asked about quantity, and I said it would fill up us trailer. Steve provided the price for a full trailer load, and I verbally agreed and we set the time that he would arrive. Steve was prompt on his arrival, and upon visual inspection of my yard debris, asked for an additional 8.3% premium over the previously agreed to price. I agreed to the price increase, and Steve promptly went to work. All of the yard debris fit into his trailer (as I had estimated it would), and Steve cleaned up the area leaving little trace that there was ever a stack of debris there to begin with. I was pleased with the quality and professionalism of Steve’s work, and I would use him again for my hauling needs. The only knock he earned – was changing the verbally agreed to price after visual inspection. A full trailer of yard debris is a full trailer of yard debris. There was no misrepresentation on my part. But, I had the option of declining the increase, and I decided that getting rid of it then and there was more important than the money. So, I contracted for the service.

He arrived promptly and loaded the truck and was gone in about 15 minutes.

Steve provided the lowest quote for the job and I was honest in what it involved(price went from $75 to $110). His first idea was to flip the couch onto my old rug and drag it across my wood floors. I vetoed that and he brought in clean moving pads. As a one man operation dragging or pushing large items are his only options. No damage to my floors. While moving the couch(45") through a 60" wide area he banged the couch into a room divider causing plaster and paint damage in two spots. He also damaged my front door. His solution to the damage was to not charge me $110. Doubtful that I will be able to get it repaired for that amount.

Went as well as it can go! Steve was responsive in returning my call to set up an appointment, was punctual in showing up when we had agreed upon, and was quick in loading up the trash and removing it.

Steve worked from the moment he arrived at a steady pace. The property had a large amount various construction materials, glass, small appliances, bed frames etc. Regardless of size he managed removal.

Steve gave me an appointment time (i.e. noon) when I called. He called me an hour before the scheduled time to confirm and arrived perfectly on time. He loaded the materials to be taken away. Cost was as per the estimate. Many thanks for excellent and professional service.

He got about 20 min in and said he needed 50 more which I agreed. He then complained that he didn't charge enough and wanted more. When I refused he sighed and did the minimal. He left a mesh and made me feel uncomfortable.

I had a substantial number of broken down packing boxes and bags of packing material along with other trash items that the local trash company would not pick up. As leaving such trash alongside the curb was in violation of my HOA rules I needed to get it disposed of quickly. I called Hauling by Steve and he came within hours and took away all my trash for a reasonable charge.

Steve responded and performed the hauling quickly. He was on time and reduced the quoted price due to the simplicity of the task.

He answered the phone on first call. He was able to be out within three hours. He was pleasant, efficient and effective. Great work.

We were very pleased with Steve's work. He did an excellent job of collecting all of the old deck wood, which by the way had a lot of nails exposed, and he was able to collect it all in one truck and haul it away. He was also very prompt, courteous, and thorough. We didn't have to do any cleanup work afterwards since he had cleaned up the area very well. The price was also very reasonable. We would highly recommend him and will definitely use him in the future if needed.

I contacted Steve via his website to ask for an estimate for hauling away a bunch of bags of yard waste. He responded within hours with a per-bag estimate. I exchanged several more emails with him that day and he offered to come out the next day to pick everything up. I had told him we thought we had approximately 80 bags, but I couldn't count them because they were all stacked on top of each other. When he came out, he called me at work to tell me that we had 62 bags... he could have easily charged me for 80 and I would never have known the difference. An honest man and a fair price... that's hard to find these days. We will definitely use him again!

I called Steve with a need for some bulk items to be removed from my yard. His ad says he can respond within 24 hours. The price quote was resonable. I left the appt time up to Steve. He was supposed to arrive at 11:30. At 12:30 he called and said he'd be here by 1:00. I reminded him our appt was at 11:30, ttld him I had other appointments and to just cancel the appointment. He didn't even apologize for the inconvenience.
