Gringo Dave's Electric

It went very well. They did what they said they would do in a very workmanlike manner. They gave me a break on some things that were not quite as expected.

Dave did trouble shooting to identify that the problem was with the light fixture itself and not with the house wiring. He then fixed the light fixture's wiring.

The work was superior, the techs were extremely professional and friendly. My wife felt extremely comfortable while they were working which was especially important to both of us. My main purpose for writing this review almost two years after the project was completed was to point out the great follow up Dave performed just recently--well outside of our warranty period. During a recent storm we lost power to the newly constructed area. I couldn't track down the cause. We called Dave and he personally responded to trouble shoot the problem. He quickly tracked down the major contributor that caused the power failure and fixed it. Something I would have never found and would have easily cost up to $200 from another company. When my wife inquired about the cost he didn't charge us anything which really impressed me. It's this type of customer service and the great work he did on the initial project that certainly warrants recommending him and his crew to everyone needing an honest, customer oriented and competent electrical company. This was awesome all the way around! He was awesome! They installed a covered GFI outlet. They were on time and there were two guys that worked together. They came in, did the job, vacuumed after they were done, and made sure it was working. I will call him out to do more work and I would recommend them to anybody!

Dave did our hot tub wiring and did a superb job at a reasonable rate. He worked with our deck builder and our hot tub company to make sure everything was done correctly .

Dave showed up on time and was very cordial and professional. I had just had a new deck and patio completed in my backyard and was eager to have an electrical box installed from the upper deck so I can hang lighting and/or plug in a light to read at night on my deck. He installed it in no time and noticed the railing prevented the plate cover from opening all the way. I didn't see this as a big deal but Dave insisted he run to Ace Hardware and buy another one that would fit it appropriately. This was definitely an indication of his perfectionism and desire to please the customer. He returned quickly and completed the job. It is obvious that Dave enjoys his work and a plus for me because now I have an electrician that I can depend on for future projects.

We (The Concrete Company, Inc.) removed and replaced a driveway for a customer. During the removal process we noticed there was a conduit that was buried just under the ground which was accidentally damaged by our skidloader. The conduit was broken and we replace the PVC pipe for them but the wiring that run through it still was not working properly so we knew we needed the electrical repairs completed by a professional electrician, so I gave Dave Darrah a call. I have known G***** Dave for a few years now and I felt comfortable having him do the repairs for us, knowing that he would take great care of our customer. He was able to schedule the job quickly and at the customers requested time - which was great! We -and our customer- couldn't be happier with the results! Thanks Dave :-)

The technicians were great to work with!

Dave contacted us within days of purchasing the deal, set up install for that week. He showed up right on time, discussed our needs and made it happen. I've now got an outlet on the outside of the house near my shed, instead of having to run a 100' extension cord from the garage.

Dave was terrific. He arrived on time, was personable and professional. He did the work very quickly and competently. He's my electrician from now on, and I recommend him without reservation. I can't speak too highly of him and his company.

I was in Colorado Springs from Virginia to act as general contractor on upgrading our house for sale. Preparing for the closing on the sale, the buyer's inspection turned up two electrical issues requiring a licensed electrician. I was in a hurry to get the job done, and done well, because I was leaving. I would have to get a reliable and trustworthy electrician to do the job, and, as it turned out, they would have to do the work after I had left the area. I turned to Angie's List and, based on several positive reviews, called Gringo Dave's to do the work. I was not disappointed! On short notice Dave made himself available and accommodated everything I needed to complete the job in a timely fashion. What pleased me most about Gringo Dave's was the patience and courtesy Dave showed by explaining to me clearly what needed to be done and why. In fact, after he surveyed for himself what was required, he made several suggestions that reduced the work and cost while correcting all the listed electrical discrepancies. Dave also insisted on honoring a $25 discount for me on the work done because I had found him through Angie's. Gringo Dave was professional, timely, accommodating, and courteous in his approach. I will recommend him highly to anyone in the Springs area who needs professional electrical work.

I would most definitely recommend Gringo Dave's for future electrical service in my home. I needed to install a rather large pendant light fixture (25 1/2"H X 18" Squared, 25 1/2"H X 18" Square; made of steel and glass) from the ceiling. This installation was rather tricky as it was to be installed over the banister of a staircase, from a 20' vaulted ceiling. I contacted several electrical and/or handyman services companies requesting an estimate of charges for the work. Of the 5 companies I contacted, only two (Gringo Dave's and The Wire Nut) were interested and/or capable of preforming the work. The other companies did not have access to a ladder that was tall enough to reach the 20' ceiling. Within 24 hours, Keith, of Gringo Dave's stopped by my home to access the job first hand. He was confident that they could complete the work and would have an estimate emailed to me by COB the next day. The estimate was emailed to me in a timely manner and included an Angie's List members discount. I was a bit surprised at the cost of the work >$200.00 (hence the 'B' rating re: Price). However, I wanted the work completed as soon as possible and Keith was 1) timely with his responses, 2) professional, and 3) was very friendly/cordial. Therefore, I decided to move forward and scheduled the installation. The installation was scheduled a full 2-weeks out from the initial consultation due to Gringo Dave's schedule availability. They rented a 16' ladder from a local rent-all company in order to perform the work. The guys (2) arrived promptly at the scheduled time and were cordial/friendly as well. Bonus points that they were 'clean cut', well groomed, native english speakers as well. They immediately began the work of setting up the ladder being cautious not to scratch walls/paint, banisters, ceiling, etc). They were able to complete the work in under two hours and were patient in adjusting the hanging chain to the height that I preferred. The installation when according to plan. No 'un-planned' incidentals or problems were encountered and I am delighted that this 'to-do' can be marked off the list. The money spent was worth the headache of me trying to install the light myself. Thanks to the guys at Gringo Dave's Electric.

Even though the job was scheduled for noon, and Keith didn't arrive until 1:00pm, he was professional enough to call me immediately when he realized his prior job was taking longer than anticipated, and let me know he would be delayed. I really appreciated that. He initially thought it might take longer than it did and made sure he let us know that. When he did cut into the wall the put in the new electrical box for the new light fixture, and extended the wires from the old box, he found that it would not be as big a problem as he initially told us, and completed the work professionally and very well. We were very pleased. He was very nice and polite and we really appreciated his work and his attitude. Very Professional and will definitely use this company again. Thank you Keith for a great job.

4 p.m. July 3rd and I had no power in my master bedroom. I contacted Gringo Dave's and talked to Dave himself. He came to my house within an hour and fixed the problem. Such a quick response-I could't believe it.

This was a great experience!! The original estimate was scheduled within a couple days of contacting the company. I received my estimate by email. It was itemized and had a detailed description of all the work to be done. When I called to schedule the job, they were able to accommodate my schedule. Two electricians came out and both worked in different areas of the house at the same time. They had everything done in a reasonable amount of time. They were very friendly and answered all my questions. I will definitely call them the next time I need electrical work done.

The work went great. The new outlets are great.

The first service call was to look over all the work we wanted done. We discussed trying to repair the broken ceiling fan and then determined it might be cheaper to replace with a new one. Dave was polite and thorough. I then went ahead and purchased the light fixtures that I wanted and then made another appointment. Dave sent out his master electrician because I wanted to get as much done as possible within an hour. He came and confirmed the ceiling fan/light was damaged and then went ahead and did the fan and two outdoor lights within the time I had budgeted for. I had one other closet light that needed a repair but after talking with Dave's guy, we decided to do that later because it wasn't a priority. I would definately use them again!

I contacted three electrical contractors for bids and Gringo Dave's was the most competitive. They sent out a master electrician, Keith, to install the line and box to our hot tub. Keith was on-time, professional and completed everything before the estimated time. Keith even went back to get the matching switch to our existing box and worked seemlessly with our hot tub installers. Overall, this was outstanding service and quality of work and I would recommend them to anyone.

They came, found the problem, changed the switched. They were done in less than 30 min.

Our fantastic contractor, Cameron, owner of CamBe Precision Construction, brought Dave (the owner) and his team at Gringo Dave's Electric in as subcontractors for an office to bedroom remodel we were working on. Dave came out the first day to assess what was needed and I found him to be very knowledgeable, down to earth, and friendly. We talked about what was needed and he told us what was involved in getting it done. In addition to the office to bedroom project, I mentioned that I would like a hole drilled in my granite desk counter top in the kitchen with an additional electrical outlet installed underneath so that we would no longer have electrical cords hanging from the wall outlet to the desk. He let me know that it wouldn't be a problem and suggested a local company who would be able to come out and drill the hole in the granite. I hired the company he suggested and they were great to work with as well. After Dave had assessed what was needed he then sent his employees out to complete the work. They were always on time, hard working and quickly accomplished the task. They also asked me my preferences for certain things when there was a choice (ie - what type of light switch I wanted) which I thought was nice. I was very pleased with the work that was performed by Gringo Dave's Electric. I know we will use them again in the future. When Dave was here I did ask him to give me estimates on a few other projects (like hanging a flat screen TV on the wall) and I can tell you that his estimate was SIGNIFICANTLY less than what I actually paid Wire Nut to perform the same service a few months before. So, we definitely found a new electrical company. :) If you need an electrician, I would HIGHLY recommend Gringo Dave's Electric! You won't be disappointed!
