The job involved three companies. John from Greenscapes seemed quite confident when we met him. As the job progressed, though, that image began to crumble. He would show up periodically to walk us around the project. We would point out things that needed to be addressed. He'd agree but the next time we brought it up, he would say he never said that. Example: the irises my wife had planted in the top of the lot. Specialty irises that had their names on tags with them. They were disturbed by the workers and scattered, with only a few ending up in the bed. They subsequently started popping up all over the yard in places that Greenscapes moved soil. We mentioned that to John. He said he'd have his office girl show up with an iris guide when they bloomed and identify them for us. Next meeting, it was and quot;I never said thatand quot;. We concluded that he was more than willing to tell us whatever he thought we wanted to hear and do whatever he wanted anyway. From his original plan for our project, it seemed the and quot;innovativeand quot; aspect of his service was making his standard plan fit our project. He seemed pretty unconcerned when I pointed out where his workers were urinating on our house. He did not provide a port-a-poty, even though the job would take months and a crew would be on the property all day. John just brushed away the evidence in the dirt and brushed away the problem. Most of his workers spoke only Spanish, leading us to wonder where they really lived. John became a delay in the front yard for pouring the driveway. He was going to build a continuous wall along the driveway's east edge. Had we not intervened and insisted on a terraced level, that wall would have been close to six feet tall in some places with no access to the upper part of the yard. He wanted the concrete company to pour a thick edge on the west side of the driveway so he wouldn't have to do the block walls. That thick edge would have been several feet tall in some points. The concrete company intervened and the walls went up. As the job drew to a close, John said we could not add anymore since his crews had to go to jobs with deadlines. Some of the extended time was due to his crews either doing something wrong and having to fix it, like grading the driveway too deep, or not coming for a day or two because of other jobs. Now for the real kicker that we just discovered today. Seems that despite repeatedly telling him where it is, he put one of those block walls right on top of the upper access hole for our septic tank. We have water coming up in the drains in our house right now. The tank needs pumped. Now. But, we can't do that until that wall is moved. Then, we have to pay to get it replaced. If decide to use Greenscapes, make records of everything you discuss with John and have him sign them at the end of the visit. Insist he brings a port-a-potty for his workers. We would not recommend Greenscapes to anyone

They have been very good. We haven't gotten far enough in our service, but the first service was definitely an A. We're going to watch them over time.
