Flatiron Steel

We purchased Metal Roof and siding from Flatiron Steel on 3-27-2024. They did not get the product we paid for until second week in August. With a bunch of lame excuses, we bought this through Lowes which Lowes gave many discounts to try to keep our business. Meanwhile Flatiron had our $19,642.09 for 5.5 months with out providing our product. We spoon feed Flatiron a exact shop drawings with metal pieces sizes and angles as any body that understands construction documents could just pickup and have correct once or maybe twice. No not Flatiron they cannot read construction documents and failed to read the Shop drawing provided to them. After about 10-15 times of back and forth with them failing every time to read simple dimension we just submitted a excel sheet with exact dimensions of each panel needed. First if they cannot get a simple job that has been spoon fed to them to just copy what panels are needed they should not be in this business. More to the point, once Flatiron finally showed up with us only allowing from Lowes giving yet another discount. Their operation of bending steel is a chaotic mess they would load the metal coils on the machine and run through machine while the painted side of the coil would bounce up and down and get SCRATCHED from metal bars which they tried to protect from flimsy film which did not work. We bought two panel profiles from Flatiron the first was 1.5" Snaplock after they ran some out that were all scratch they seem to get those panels to work without SCRATCHES. The problem came to the Board and Batten Panel profile, Most of these panels were SCRATCHED from bouncing up and down on machine from coil. We did not pay $19,642.09 for SCRATCHED damaged product. My roof installer showed me the SCRATCHES prior to installing as they didn't want to even continue on damaged product. Flatiron was told and denied not even trying to make our damage product right. Do not use this company your better off with any other metal roofing company. Call Sheffield Metals or CMG Metals for recommendations.
