Worse than Poor. It took 95 days to get gas meter moved and 3/4 of floor joists in. I had to fire Chuck Horne. Then I called for an inspection after I got the permit out of his name. It failed inspection with RBD since he did NOT follow code. I filed for a variance. It was denied. RBD told me I had to rip everything out and start over. Chuck Horne has kept my $10,000 and I am in litigation. Since July 4 I have not had any response for a refund from him or his attorney. I cannot recommend this man AT ALL. I have attached a photo of what I am left with.

More than a month passed since Chuck's visit and I didn't hear back anything: no estimate, no emails, nothing! I reached out to him and got a response on the second attempt saying that his business was too big for small jobs like mine! When I asked why he was acting up at this late stage when he had known about the job size all along, his exact words in reply were: "Do whatever you want: I don't care!" So here I am, still with an unfinished job owing to Chuck Horne's and Compass Home Improvements and Remodeling's unprofessional behavior. I hope others learn from my terrible experience. Stay away from this business!

Super design - just what we wanted. Instead of two weeks, it took approximately 3 months to complete the work. The crew might show up for an hour and then not be back for several days. The materials were less than the best. We had expected to have the posts painted - they were not. Clean up was excellent; he even hauled away some extra stuff we needed to dispose of.

Everything went very well. The gentleman that I worked with, Chuck Horn, was very helpful. I purchased the door at Home Depot, and he had it put on hold for me, and he picked it up, brought it here, installed it, and I'm very happy with the installation. He was very personable.
