I hate Comcast. I spent five-and-a-half hours total on the phone – I kept track – when I moved from my old house to my new house, just assessing service. They actually had some guy from India that was a representative of theirs sell me a router and then I couldn’t find a tracking number, they never sent me a confirmation email. So, I called them and asked them about it and they said we don’t sell those. I told them your guy sold me and they said we don’t sell those, ma’am. And they sent me around to different people and finally convinced me that they don’t sell them. And in two days I get the router that they didn’t sell me. And there was some kind of a rebate thing, which didn’t worked. The only reason I went with them is because there is no other provider in my neighborhood that provides the speed I need to use the movies and stuff. The guy who came was a subcontractor and he was good.

We had a lot of trouble with it. I will not give a very good review. We have not gone in their store, it was just over the phone. I think I will say to others that they are not an easy company to work with, it’s not easy to get help when things are not working and it’s not easy to disconnect your service when you’re ready to move on. We moved to a new house and when I tried to terminate my services for the other house the woman was not helpful and at the end of the call she insulted me and hung up on me.
Description of Work: We use Comcast. I called them last week for the same issue and that was my fifth call. We have a bundle with them; cable, internet and phone.

It's okay. I would like to change. The price was way too high just for the internet. I don't want to change our email address. I don't want to go through that much trouble. It goes down every now and then but it's usually not very long so I don't have to call.
Description of Work: For internet, I use Comcast. The download speed is 23 - 25 mbps and the upload speed is about 19 mbps.

I have fought the battle for years with Comcast with them charging a rental fee for my own modem. It goes all the way back to 2012. On 9/12/13, I used their live chat and got the rental removed after noticing it had magically reappeared on my bill. Exact same story on 1/9/14, and I have both transcripts from the chats. A few weeks ago when I did a total disconnect due to moving to an area Comcast does not service, the rep insisted I return "their" modem. My personally owned modem was being shipped with my household goods and was not due to arrive until the end of June. I conveyed this, but the rep insisted I give them the serial number of MY modem, as if I carry that around with me. I felt as if the rep treated me like a criminal! I asked to speak with a supervisor and of course, they were all in a meeting. I was routed to a supervisor's voice mail with the rep's promise they would respond quickly. And of course, they didn't. Not quickly. Not at all. This week I got a billing from Comcast charging for "unrecovered equipment." How could I possibly give them something I never had? Like thousands of others, I have to watch my pennies and it was much cheaper for me to use my own modem than to pay Comcast $7 per month. After browsing through the Comcast forum, apparently Comcast tries to shaft many customers who use their own equipment. I would also like comment on Comcast's Customer Service. I have kept detailed records of each time I have spoken with them. I find it highly upsetting that although I can provide dates, times, and names, I am consistently told there is nothing noted in the records for the account! If you have any other provider option for cable, internet, or phone, I encourage you to take it and save yourself from headaches down the road.

The service itself was acceptable. The speeds were always nice and the price was fair. The sales customer service is fantastic and obviously based in the United States. If you have a billing issue or a need tech support, good luck because it is clearly outsourced to another country. I had one representative who could not understand I needed them to ping my modem, told them I would callback and the next rep got it done fairly fast. If it were not for the subpar tech support, I would rate them higher. I would still recommend the service because it is a fair price for a good speed until faster alternatives arrive in Colorado Springs, CO.

It was a terrible experience.
Description of Work: The provider drilled a hole in the brick in a place other than where I asked him to drill. It made internet and viewing impossible. Monthly cost escalated without notice and was never the promised price. Customer service required a wait time of over an hour to reach any live person. I will never use Comcast again.

My modem was no longer capable of the new internet speeds so I went to the Xfinity Store for help. The person who helped me was very friendly and helpful. Gave me an upgraded more powerful modem and walked me through upgrades steps without technical jargon or a condensing tone.

Excellent Service. Cable TV worked after wiring was replaced. Cost was zero because I pay a low monthly fee for this type of service.

For the internet it took over 3 hours on the phone being transferred to 3 different techs to determine we needed a new rotor. When we received a new combined modem and rotor it took hours to set it up to work on all wireless devices. My husband spent another 3 hours being transferred to various techs, one of which was extremely rude, before we were successful. We were able to reduce the cost of our cable by signing up for a different service and giving up HBO. The installer was very nice and professional. We are paying for increased internet speed but still have trouble downloading shows on netflix

They are okay. I would probably suggest to them, that they need to put their product out after being thoroughly tested and not before it is ready for prime time. Their Internet services are quite good and I am currently using the same.

I don't get good channels for the price I pay. I like to fall in in my machines from the outside and I need to get uplink speed and they are offering the best uplink speed I could find. I'm happy with the service that they have provided for me.

My family and I recently moved and set up internet service with Comcast. I was home alone with my three kids when the installer came. He took a look at the modem and asked if it was theirs. I replied with and quot;no we had purchased that awhile ago and had used it before with your company.and quot; He didn't seem to believe me. He called someone and gave them the number off of the modem and said and quot;mm hmm, that's what I thought...and quot;. My kids needed me so I wasn't able to clarify what that was supposed to mean and had to tend to them and couldn't keep an eye on him the whole time. Towards the end of the installation the doorbell rang, I went to look to see who it was and it was another person from Comcast. I answered the door and he said and quot;Hi, I'm a friend of (don't know what the guys name was).and quot; and he just walked right in and started talking with the other man. I was honestly starting to freak out. I didn't know if these men had something planned or not. The first installer handed me papers to sign, I thought they were papers just saying he completed the installation so I quickly signed them so that they would leave but it actually was a rental agreement for the modem. In the meantime I called my sister and told her to stay on the line with me until they were done cleaning up because I was creeped out. They left and I thought to myself I must of just been being paranoid so I didn't call and complain (I know! Stupid me!). I did call to make sure that the guy didn't switch out the modems and the man on the phone confirmed that he did not. So we kept the service for a few months and decided to switch and get a bundle deal with another provider. When I called and canceled they said I needed to drop off their modem at the store. I explained to them that I had already clarified this with them months ago that it was our modem. They said thats not what it showed in the system yada yada. Even longer story short, it turns out the installer actually did steal our modem. He had switched them out and somehow put it into the system that we were renting. It took us literally 6 phone calls and 10+ hours of being on the phone to just be accused of stealing it yet again. They wanted to see the receipt of purchase which we nicely sent in and that still wasn't good enough. Finally we went into the store and brought in the modem that was theirs (because the guy stole ours) and told them to check the serial number on a previous account that we had with them at another location in which we had used the same modem we were trying to use at our current location. And guess what, they were different which means the guy DID steal our modem and got away with it!! I am still going to try and hold Comcast accountable somehow for all the trouble they caused. We can't find the man who installed it either because (conveniently for them) they supposedly delete all account information once the account is canceled. The man at the store said there is no way of finding our modem so he gave us a new one to try and make up for it. It doesn't! A formal apology from the company would be a good start. And now we got a bill in the mail of $70.00 charging us for the modem they say is theirs even though this guy at the store supposedly cleared up the mess for us...so, back on the phone for another who knows how long. Comcast is an awful company and word of mouth will not be kind to them!

I love Comcast! I'm a triple play member. I've had really good luck with them. I know some people don't. I recognize that, but I'm a work from home and I have the 15 megabit internet and probably the second highest cable TV package and phone service. Every time I've called those guys they've come out and fixed my problem. They've essentially fixed it the first time. I'm a fairly technical person. I've been a Unix system administrator for 23 years and when I describe the problem I was able to actually work through a couple. I tried with the US West once and I got a blithering idiot on the phone and I just turned the service off immediately. I think there are cheaper people but I don't think they're as good.

Hi, I just joined Angie's list to see what kind of reviews internet service providers were getting, because my daughter decided to switch from Comcast to Century Link (Quest) for cost savings. We decided to look up reviews on-line but I did not know if I should trust what I was reading because everyone was complaining and there were no positive reviews. I tried to look Century Link up on the BBB and found it had an A+ rating, which seemed hard to believe after the plethora of complaints that I had just read. When I first did a search for and quot;Century Linkand quot; on Angie's list it came up with one review that sounded like a canned PR review from Century Link, so I didn't believe it. Next I did a search on Comcast, which we currently have and I found several listings with varying ratings. I also found a link to Century Link, which I did not find when searching for Century Link. Both provided a mixed bag for both companies, which didn't really help, so I decided to use my Angie's list account for something and at least let people know how I feel about Comcast. I have used Comcast for internet and TV since I moved to the Springs for 14 years. I don't like some of the games they play with pricing, etc. but overall they have been a good service. I don't think you will find a faster internet service. My kids are currently using Comcast for internet and Direct TV for TV and other than the cost we are satisfied with both service providers for years now. My daughter wanted to save money by bundling with Century Link, but I think we will just keep paying what we do and avoid some of the horror stories that I read on-line. I hope this is helpful for someone researching Comcast.

The quality of the internet/TV/phone is good once it works, but we had a hard time getting the service to be set the way we wanted/the way it was advertised. There is always a and quot;liveand quot; person to answer the phone which is appreciated, but if it's after their business hours, that person does not speak English as a first language and it is more frustrating that beneficial to continue the conversation. I believe we spend more than the value we are receiving however, we are told by friends we will spend more if we went with a Satellite Dish provider.

I received the best customer service I have ever had from an internet and TV services provider. I wished I could have switched to them from Century Link/Qwest many years ago.
