Description of Work: Carl came and cleaned and re-started my antique grandfather clock. Took my wall clock back to the shop for more in-depth repair. Very knowledgeable and pleasant.

 + -1 morePrecisely at the beginning of the window, Carl showed up and quickly confirmed my suspicion, the clock movement which was 28 plus years old, had not had proper care (lubrication) and was locking up. He knowledgeably showed me what had happened, suggested a couple of alternatives telling me what the pros and cons were of each alternative. We decided to have him install a new movement. The price was less than I expected, the service was exceptional and personal, and the time it took to replace the movement was certainly quicker than I anticipated. All in All, a very good experience from a craftsman who knows his trade and takes great pride in what he does. A very high recommendation to Carl for his work, honesty, and pricing.
Description of Work: Reviewing Angie's List, I found Carl's Clock and Watch Repair. I called, explained my issue- our grandfather clock had stopped running- and we agreed on a day and time for Carl to come to our house. The day prior, we received a call to confirm the appointment for the next day and to give us a 2 hour window when Carl would be coming to the house.

 + 0 moreDescribed above. Your reporting procedures are convoluted and you might do well to review them. I like The Angie's List concept and will continue to use it, but don't count on me to go through your laborious reporting protocol. RW
Description of Work: Fixed up an antique clock a few years ago. Knew what he was doing. Excellent service. This time I took an inexpensive, but valued watch for repairs. He was quite interested in what he was doing. Took his time and I believe got it done just right. An artist. Works from his home. Inconvenient location, but worth the effort finding.

 + -1 moreMy mother's Grandfather clock had stopped working. I called Carl's based on the reports on Angie's list. On the day before he was due to come to the house, his secretary (wife?) was able to give me a two hour range for his arrival. He arrived about 15 minutes after the beginning of the time range. He did some lubrication and some adjustments and had the clock running great in about 10 minutes. My mother is very happy to have it working again. Carl even tweaked the pendulum length slightly based on my telling him that the clock had been gaining about 5 minutes a week. The time is now quite accurate. Overall, this was a good experience. The price was, I thought, quite reasonable.

 + -1 moreCarl estimated approx. $100 to perform the work and about 30-days. He completed the service in 10-days and only charged $65. He was most knowledgeable and professional; I would use him again.
Description of Work: Cleaned and oiled a non-working Ship's Bell Clock. After servicing, the clock runs fine.
