They did not install it correctly, so when it warmed up, the top shingles settled down the nails popped through the top, hundreds of nails fell. We tried to get him to replace it and he refused. We ended up suing him and we won. Then he filed bankruptcy.

Description of Work: Aspen Roofing and Chimney replaced my roof in late November and December of 2010. We had called them in July,2010 but they did not show up to work untill November. Due to the cold weather, their compressor was not functioning properly which resulted in hundreds on nails bring under driven and stricking up 1/8" to 1/4" throughout the roof. In May of 2011, we noticed that these under driven nails had popped through the top layer of roofing resulting in hundreds of holes alll over the roof. We asked Aspen to come look at the roof and they said they would lift each shingle and replace those that were damaged. I had a professional engineer inspect the roof and he concluded that repairing the roof was not feasible and that the roof should be replaced. The roof also failed the final inspection from the Teller County Building Department due to "nails sticking up all over". Aspen has refused to replace the roof and we were finally forced to have the new roof replaced by another contractor. We are currently sueing Aspen Chimney and Roofing and I would never use them again.

In response to the Member's claim, we are responding as follows. We were indeed contracted by the members in 2010 after a hail storm. We were a relatively small company with little help and that pushed the completion of the roof out by non-natural time frames due to the volume of work we received during that time frame. We repeatedly told the member that we did not want to perform the work during the cold season and she insisted to the point of threats. She was a family friend and we obliged only becasue of that fact. We also repeatedly offered to warranty our work (documented) and she refused. We were a company in existence for 20 years and she was our first unhappy customer. Our existing reputation speaks and has spoken for itself. We have a very long list of extremely happy customers and a recommendation portfolio to back that up including members of the local building departments, past and repeat customers and suppliers.
