I called and spoke to a real human instead of an answering machine, a good sign. They were able to set up an appointment the following day. The technician arrived on time and determined that the cost of repair would be about the same as getting a new one. He recommended a different brand and where to buy it. I appreciate the honesty.

Appliance Service provided an affordable same day repair appointment. The repairman was right on time, extremely polite and quickly fixed the dryer. He left everything clean and neat.

Description of Work: My front-load washing machine was making terrible noise when it started the spin cycle.When I called Appliance Service Co., the phone was answered by a live person who was able to schedule a service call for a few days later, giving me a four-hour window. | |The service tech (also the owner,Dan, as it turned out) called prior to arrival. When he arrived, he was dressed professionally, was courteous, and careful about where he set his toolbox. He was able to diagnose the problem in less than 10-minutes (movement dampeners on the wash tub had broken), confirmed the price of parts and labor, wrote the quote for me to sign, collected a check for the service call and parts, and ordered the parts. |When the parts came in, the APSCO dispatcher called to schedule the return appointment and confirmed that the same tech would be returning to do the repair. He arrived within the allotted time-frame, once again calling prior to his arrival. He came with a trainee (also professionally dressed, courteous, and careful) who performed the repair under supervision. | |I was very happy with the entire experience and would certainly call them again if the need aros.

My bar beverage cooler stopped working and I was referred to Appliance Service by Haier, the manufacturer of my unit. I called to schedule an appointment for a future date to verify what was wrong and the cost of repair. On the day of the appointment the service person didnt show. I called and I was told I didnt answer the phone before the appointment so they canx. I called back a few weeks later and reschedule. During the call I stated that I would supply the compressor if it was bad and I was told that was an issue because they make money on the labor and mark up on the parts plus the handling of the freon. I scheduled a checkout anyway and the technician didnt show a second time. I didnt call back. Not recommended.

There are a couple of points that would be important to note regarding the request for service on Mr. [member name removed] Haier Refrigerator. We were scheduled two times to asses the problem with this machine. On the first occasion we made two attempts to contact the customer by phone and got no answer. the second time we scheduled we made a point to not call until after a specific time again we tried contacting the customer and no one answered the phone... While there may have been some misunderstanding regarding our calling in advance to confirm someone was home we would have made it clear on the second appointment that we would call .. We were never able to ascertain the problem with Mr. [member name removed]'s appliance. With regard to the concept of customers providing the parts necessary for their repair the loss of profit has less to do with our not wanting to do that than the potential problems that occur... We have no control over who or where the customer gets the part and in the event the part fails the customer would have paid a labor bill and still have a unit that does not work. In the past these situations have taught us that if a customer want to provide the part then they certainly can but we want no part of the repair because of the potential difficulties ....

Inspection performed of my washing machine for my homeowners insurance company. It sprang a leak and ruined a wall and hardwood floors. They came out right on time, were extraordinarily polite and helpful, and provided me the necessary written report to turn in to the insurance folks.

The repair person ran a diagnostic on our washing machine. He was extremely polite and efficient. We chose not to repair the machine at this time and paid for the diagnostic service only.

Dan from Appliance Service came today to diagnose our built-in refrigerator and fix it. I called yesterday and they came today. The fan was constantly running and the refrigerator was not maintaining temperature. Dan found a built-up of ice in the freezer that was hampering proper function as well as some corrosion in an electrical connection. He did the least expensive fix to see if that would take care of it. If it does, then we aren't out hundreds. If it doesn't work, then we'll proceed with the next repair. I was very pleased with his conservative approach and not doing an expensive repair if a cheaper one will do the trick. In other words, fair and honest. He was knowledgeable, competent, friendly, and professional. I have never been more impressed with a repair person who came to our home. We will definitely be using them in the future.

Very polite repairman quickly determined the work needed on the washer and quoted a price. We discussed a new machine would be about the same price as repair. I chose not to have repair done on 9 year old machine. I normally do not like any repairmen in my home, but I was very comfortable with him and appreciated his honesty and professionalism.

On top of having a young family, my husband and I work full time. He is in the Army and I am a school teacher. We were "assigned" to use this company based on our Lowe's warranty for our dryer. On a Thursday we were given a 5 hour timeline. (1-5pm) I cannot get home until 3:30 and the Lowe's representative made a note of that in the technician notes. They called me at 1:00 that day and naturally I could not check my phone until school was let out. Needless to say they had moved on and were absolutely unable to accommodate the situation. After I had already moved my personal appointments to get the dryer fixed, I was a bit frustrated, but still tried to work with them. We rescheduled for Monday, and the owner assured me that it would be a later afternoon appointment. On Monday, I rushed home, and to assure them I was home and ready I called them. Ironically, my son started crying and I went to tend him at the moment they called, and after I was able to change his diaper I called this service company back. (Literally 5 minutes after they had initially called) And they stated that they could not come. AGAIN!! I've done all I could...I even cancelled my own appointments to get this taken care of. I was speaking with the owner and he said "I understand, but I cannot keep my guys waiting." With all do respect, it's not as if I kept them waiting even 10 minutes, and he acted as if he was doing me some extraordinary favor by making a "late" appointment. Furthermore, what happened to customer service??? My husband and I work very hard and these people are getting paid! It's not like they're doing us this huge favor...I'm sorry I can't be home all day...we have jobs too. Bottom line, even after explaining to the OWNER that I was simply changing my son's diaper, and PLEADING that they come see us after the 5 minute interlude, he refused. This is simply unacceptable and represents extremely poor customer service. I highly dissuade anyone from using this company.

As a warranty provider for multiple manufactures we are required to provide repair service for customers that experience product failures and defects in material and workmanship. In addition we are required to schedule these service calls for an AM or PM time slot. Where it is possible we will try and work with customers by calling them in advance to give them time to drive home from work or other commitments they may have... In both of these scheduled calls the customer states that they were unable to answer a phone call that would confirm they are home. When we are unable to confirm that a customer is at home we also have NO IDEA that they will be calling us back in 5 10 or 20 minutes, or if something has come up that prevented them from being home at all. As a service company we do not have the luxury of wasting our technicians time hoping that a customer might call us back. In a situation like this we would call the next customer on the Techs schedule and have them continue their route for the day. Since we would have already contacted the next customer in the route it would be unfair to call them back and tell them that their call would be delayed when they did exactly what was needed to confirm they were available and that we could run the call. As for the attitude exhibited by our employee we try and treat every customer with respect but some days we fail at that task. It is something we work on every day

Our refrigerator got repaired, and the technician was great. Although, if I had to hire someone (i.e.-not warranty work), I would never call this company. My husband and I were treated extremely poorly by the phone representative. Because of his rudeness, lack of attention to detail, and failure to properly schedule appointments multiple times, we both lost hours at work. It is because of the phone representative alone, that I will never willingly use this company again, and I will recommend that other people find another service company.
Description of Work: We purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's less than 1 year ago. When the water dispenser stopped working we contacted Lowe's, since it was still under warranty. We scheduled through them. We were told a technician would arrived between 12-4 on August 27, 2012,and he would call on his way. We confirmed that the tech needed to call on the way, because of work schedules. On August 27, at 8am, we received a phone call from Appliance Service Co. saying the tech was on his way. We explained that no one was there, and the scheduled time was supposed to be 12-4. The phone representative was very rude and said that is not the information they have, and he doesn't kno when the tech will be able to make it back out there. At 945 I called Appliance Service Co and told them someone would be there within 20 minutes, and again the phone rep was very rude. He said I would just have to wait until the tech was available, and he didn't know when that would be. The tech arrived around 2:00, with no call ahead. He was very nice and courteous, and apologetic for the miscommunication. After examining the refrigerator he determind the part needed would have to be ordered. I was told it can take 3-5 days for the part to come in, and they would call to get us rescheduled. 1 week later no one had called us, so we called them. We were scheduled for another afternoon (12-4) appointment. Again, on the assigned service day, a representative called early in the morning and said the tech was available. When told that we weren't available until our scheduled window, he was rude. He sighed, said fine, and hung up. The tech arrived later that afternoon, but told us the part was not in, and he wasn't sure why anyone had scheduled the appointment. After calling the office, he told us he could return the next day with the part. We told him it would have to be after 5:00 since we had already missed so much work for their mix ups. He said that wouldn't be a problem and we were scheduled for 5-6 the next night. At 6:00 the next night we hadn't heard from anyone so I called the office. I was laughed at and told that we were never on the schedule and the tech had already gone home for the night. After I professed my extreme frustration and dissatisfaction, I was promised someone would arrive the following night between 5-6. I again told the representative that it was imperitive that I receive a call ahead because I would be getting children from day care. He assured me that we would receive a call. Luckily, the next day my teenager was home sick, because the call ahead I received was from my kid telling me the technician was in front of the house at 4:45. My husband had to cancel his plans so he could get home while I picked up the children from daycare. Again, the serice technician was very nice and aplogetic for the way we had been treated and the confusion with the parts.
