All Masonry by Geoff Hewlett

Geoff and Mark were an answer to prayer after another company completely botched the job of replacing my chimney crown. Geoff and Mark tore down the botched crown and rebuilt a new one and put in a new clay flue liner at the top. They did an exceptional job at a very reasonable price. They were very punctual and worked with a minimum of noise and cleaned up everything thoroughly before leaving. I'm going to have them back to do other work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. In addition to being competent and skilled, they communicated well and listened to my concerns. Learn from my mistake, and always hire a real masonry professional like Geoff to work on your chimney NEVER a chimney cleaning company that says they also do cement / masonry work.

Geoff and his crew member were punctual and flexibly worked their schedule around rainy weather which interfered with their work. Both were very polite and friendly and pleasant to have around! They did excellent work on the chimney, and went the extra mile to themselves purchase a properly sized chimney cap when the one we had purchased turned out to be the wrong size. We would definitely use Geoff's company again in the future and highly recommend him and his work!

We were in a bit of a hurry to replace our large brick mailbox pillar that was knocked down by an out of control driver. We live on the side of a mountain, and sometimes cars go barrelling down. On this particular morning, it involved a high school kid who was texting, lost control and ran into our mailbox. It was toppled from three quarters of the way down and the brick was crushed. The mailbox was on the ground. After consulting with a mason who was not from Angie's list, we were scheduled to start the project but he never showed and was impossible to reach. The post office was becoming very frustrated as the mailbox was literally on the ground and they were holding our mail. Over a month had passed and Halloween was fast approaching. Children would soon be out trick-or-treating in the neighborhood and we didn't want anyone tripping over this mess. Our neighbors were agitated as the large top of the pillar was on the ground, fragments were everywhere. As much as we tried to clean it up, it was still an eyesore and some of it was just too heavy to remove. So, I found Geoff Hewlett on Angie's List. At that point we were frustrated and really in a hurry. Geoff responded immediately. I called him on a Sunday afternoon, not expecting a response. He was immediately available and was out the next morning. In no time, he had a better solution and much more cost effective approach than the previous mason. His work ethic was impressive. We met him at the Stone store and picked out the product that we wanted. He explained the process and timeline very clearly. First, he cut up and removed the brick that was on the ground and hauled it away. Then, he rebuilt the pillar that was down. Following that, he began the work of dry stacking the new stone. He did this over the brick on both pillars on either side of the driveway. He installed a new mailbox into the pillar and then topped it with a beautiful flagstone cap. It is absolutely gorgeous and everyone in the neighborhood has been so complimentary of it. We plan to use Goeff on further interior and exterior stone and tile projects. He was incredibly easy to work with. Seems like a real gentleman and a mater of his craft. I highly recommend him. I love pulling into my driveway and seeing his stonework everyday and I look forward to having more done on the house.

This is the second time we have used Geoff and he has again done a great job. Very easy to work with and full of ideas he is a pleasure to work with. Geoff came out within 2 days of the call and went over each step of the process, matching the stone we already have throughout the yard. The next day he was out excavating the site and poring concrete. Everything went smoothly and the work was done when he said it would be.

It is now all back together again so it blends with the rest of the fence.

Good project . Face of chimney looks very nice. Really remarkable match of the brick . Came back when reminded to do some tuck pointing.
