All American Heating and AC LLC

We have used Jim with All American Heating & AC to install a whole house humidifier, to fix a condensation trap issue with our A/C, and today we had to call him because our furnace would not stay ignited. Over the phone Jim was able to diagnose today's problem and guided me through a simple fix that involved cleaning the flame sensor. Jim did this at no charge and spent several minutes with me over the phone explaining the issue and the fix. I cannot emphasize how refreshing it is to have an honest company like this to work with. Jim's honesty will ensure that any future issues we have will be handled by All American Heating and AC. I would highly recommend All American Heating & AC and Jim to anyone looking for Heating or AC work.

Called Jim, (All American Heating and AC, LLC) and from my description of the noise, he was pretty sure he knew that the problem was the induction motor. I gave him the serial number for the heater, and he was able to give me an approx. price for the repair and part over the phone. I agreed, and he went and picked up the part, then came out and had the heater fixed thesame day. He went above and beyond in my opinion.

I absolutely recommend All American Heating and AC. Our furnace began to flood our basement and we called All American to repair it. Jim came out during the time frame that worked for us and he was very nice and easy to talk to. He quickly found the problem, fixed it, and went over and above by making sure that everything else with the furnace and air conditioning unit were working properly. He was very thorough and I could tell that he actually cared about the results. Plus, Jim made a cost saving recommendation to help the air flow in our upstairs, which never properly cools down. He told us how we could easily and cheaply improve the air flow, which the last company only gave us one option and wanted to charge us over $1500 to do it. After the job was finished, he made sure everything was clean and left no trash behind. The initial appointment was to replace the water heater only, but after casual conversation about other issues we had with our air conditioning unit, he then decided he would take a look at it and fixed it as well. Jim was an absolute joy to do business with, and have decided that he will be the ONLY business we will use in the future.

The install went very we they were prompt and were very accommodating to installing the humidifier with my nest thermostat I would definitely use them in the future for my future heating and cooling needs.

my furnace died in the evening of a blizzard and Jim came out the next morning to look at it. The unit was 28 years old and the parts were unavailable because of its age so he had to get a new one for me. the next morning the install was done and even though there were a few inconvenience with the size of my crawl space and a different part having to be picked up they stayed very kind and positive. The price was far less than I expected, too. The new furnace is very pretty and works like a dream! Awesome job!

Excellent service and value. Jim set an appointment with me for today to install a whole-house humidifier that we purchased on our own. We had planned to install the unit ourselves, but found that the installation area had become complicated by installation of a new furnace after we purchased our home. Since gas lines, electric, water and furnace flue were all involved we called and set this appointment. Jim and his wife came early, which we appreciated because we gained back a little of our day. They were thorough in addressing the challenges of install. We knew coming into the conversation that things were tight and some of the utilities would need to be moved. Once we were shown a plan of action and informed of the costs, the work moved quickly. All elements of the installation and installers were quality and professional. The overall experience was excellent indeed. Fast, courteous, clean, priced very reasonably, and helpful in explaining the features and care of our new installation. We'll happily use All American again, and thanks to Angie's List for all the guidance in connecting us with them.

UPDATE: About 3 weeks after my blower motor was installed my tenant called to inform me the furnace is making a loud vibration noise. I had a different professional come out and check the unit. It turns out the new blower motor wasn't secured properly. The technician said he could spin the bolts with his finger. That is why I am reducing the quality score further. Showed up on time and got to work quickly. He is easy to reach by phone. There are definitely cheaper deals out there for a 'inspect and clean' service but I liked the high Angies List rating. He found some issues the first day and the cost went form $200 (to clean 3 furnaces) to $600 (to fix a couple broken heat rods and some gas leak). I believed him 100% on these issue and said to go for it. He fixed them that day, all was good. He left that day saying everything was great and the final cost was around $600. Sounded fine to me. That night my tenant calls and says he heard a large popping noise and a smell when he turned on the furnace. I called the technician back that morning and told him there was an issue. He came back right away which was great. He determined that the issue was the blower motor had broken. I asked why when he 'inspected and cleaned' it he didn't notice this. He tells me there is no way for him to know when that particular piece will go out. Obviously it was upsetting that within 12 hours of him inspecting a system it breaks. This is the reason for the low 'quality' score. It ended up costing $500 more to fix the blower motor. The technician got very defensive when I asked why he didn't catch the broken motor. I wanted to know why I would pay $200 for an inspection that didn't catch this issue (I was also worried that the inspection caused this issue, how can I ever know?). I think that is a reasonable concern. He wouldn't let me speak and often spoke over me on the phone. This is the reason for the low 'professionalism' score. I was also upset that he charged me a $75 'service call fee' when he came back the next day (that was part of the additional $500). Seems a little weak to charge a fee to come out when you're inspecting a system that you might have broken and that leads to more business. This is the reason for the low 'price' score. Seems like this is probably where you could have cut an upset customer a break.

They came out on Christmas Eve on short notice and replaced our old heater that had to be shut off because it had become a hazard.

Was having issues with house staying cool. Technician explained why, possible fixes and charged a/c. Very happy with the outcome.

All went well. Called before coming out and was able to arrive earlier than planned.

We finally got it going. The whole process took 2 days and the clock was ticking and the price went up. He stayed with it til the end and got it working again, but I didn't like that he wanted money before he got the job done. It gave me the opinion that he wanted to walk because it was getting complicated. But all in all he got it done and the A/C works again, it was just very expensive.

Jim was super thorough in inspecting and servicing everything on our A/C unit to get to the bottom of the problem we've been having with the system freezing up and not cooking the house. He spent several hours troubleshooting and even reached out to other contacts he has, and to the manufacturer to get their input, and offered to come back on the weekend with another technician to ensure nothing was missed. We live in an older house and he found restriction issues getting return air circulating back due to the return air vents being built entirely too small in the upstairs of our home. This, coupled with an older A/C unit that is also on the small side for our square footage are contributing to the issue we've had with it freezing up. He did an awesome job and really took his time to figure it out, and gave us recommendations on things we could do from enlarging the return air vents to adding vents above the upstairs bedroom doors to help with the return air circulation. We had a different HVAC provider come out a year ago to look into the same exact issue and they spent all of 20 minutes and charged $100 to tell us nothing about the root of the issue, that all was well with our unit, and to just turn the system off for a day and let it thaw out... but we've continued to have the same ongoing problem this summer with the system not cooling and knew something was still not quite right. We greatly appreciated Jim's expertise and resolve to get to the bottom of the issue, and he even said he wouldn't charge us for the diagnostic since there was nothing that he had to repair. Knowing what we know now, we do plan to replace the A/C unit in the near future with a new one that is larger and more efficient for the size of our house, as well as do work to resolve the return airflow issue. Jim was awesome and we will definitely be using him to replace our system when the time comes!

He was wonderful. It worked out wonderfully and he was awesome. I called him during the weekend when he was off because it was an emergency and he came on time and took care of it.

The wording on the deal was misleading.

I was in a hurry to get my furnace cleaned and inspected before closing on the sale of my house. I had called 4 or 5 different providers; most of them were booked up and the one that was available was very expensive. I finally got a hold of Jim and he was available to do the work the next business day. When I mentioned that I needed it done by a certain day, he immediately caught on to the fact that I was selling and asked me if I needed a "letterhead" explaining what all was done with the furnace. He showed up on time and was very courteous. He spent more time than expected on my furnace because it is old and he had to disassemble extra parts it to clean it, but he only charged me what was originally quoted. At the end, he gave me a checklist of all the things that had been checked/performed, and a separate letterhead that had his notes on the condition of the furnace.

Purchased deal for a 30 minute air conditioner diagnostic visit. Contacted me that night thru Angie's list message to schedule appointment. Showed up early which is nice. Jim was great! Talked me thru the details to fix my problem. Gave me a couple of options and wanted to be cost effective. We decided on a course of action. He was quick and answered all my questions. Will definitely use again.
