Affordable Granite and Marble

Byer not only be ware - DO YOUR Research!!! Start with the Colorado Secretary of State [*** Link removed ***] This Colorado Springs business is registered and licensed as "Affordable Granite & Stone" which is current...However they advertise under "N2Stone"; which is in delinquent status with the state and uninsured as a business. Again, research both companies and names "Bobby AND Virginia Berry. They are obviously playing legal games once they get enough consumer complaints. They are "Sub-Contractors" to your General Contactor!!! You did NOT hire them directly? That is why/how they can walk away from accountability from a screwed up job. Again-do your research!!! When the general contractor refuses to pay them...they will file a "Mechanics Lein" against your personal property to "intimidate-blackmail" someone into paying them for such damaging work it cost you even more. [*** Link removed ***] El Paso County Records Office and the District Attorney's Office has been made aware of these people! Whatever name they are doing business as-avoid at all cost!

At first it went well.... until installation day. The day of installation the owner (Bobby Berry) came to the house with 2 of his workers. He left after about an hour and left them to complete the install which was supposed to take up to 5 hours, likely 3.... it was about 7-8 hours of the 2 young guys who I could tell were struggling and my instincts were right. There was a lot of damage to the drywall, to the post on the L-shape bar, they didn't anchor the dishwasher, caulking was missed, corbels were done poorly with additional wood splints, MULTIPLE areas of drywall damage, my beautiful apron front sink was pulled away from the front of the cabinet about 1inch to make it look like the counter was properly centered with the sink. I talked to the owner and he sent the 2 guys over while I was at work to finish some of the items. My contractor/carpenter who is a straight shooter and does impeccable work was at the house when the guys arrived, he mentioned the poor quality of work to the young guys and they basically said it wasn't a big deal, which also didn't sit well with my contractor and there were some words. The young guys ended up walking out, not doing any of the fixes, and slammed my door on their way out. I got a call from Bobby (AG&M) that there were words between his guys and my contractor, so I suggested he come over himself since I then learned about more extent of the remaining items and damage. Bobby came over no problem and I walked him through everything. He was pretty disappointed in his guys finish work and assured me they could get everything fixed up between him and another senior guy no problem. He also was going to reimburse me so I could pay my contractor to properly fix the damages which was what I requested since the quality of the work is so top notch. $500 is what was asked.. during this time I was talking with Bobby in the house going over the issues, my contractor was outside by his tool trailer. After we had it scheduled for Bobby to come the next day and finish these items, he went outside to talk to my contractor to let him know they'd get things fixed up while I stayed in the house. After a few minutes Bobby came back into the house and I asked if everything was all good and he said NO, and that he was leaving and wasn't sure if he would be coming back and that my contractor is a piece of work and he isn't perfect, blah blah. Basically my contractor told him the quality of work was crap and they had an exchange of words and I have NEVER HEARD A WORD SINCE from Bobby at Affordable Granite & Marble. He never came back to fix the items he was supposed to fix, he never reimbursed me ANYTHING for my contractor to fix all the damage his guys caused and instead I had to pay my contractor additional money to get these things fixed. I called, texted, emailed and nothing.... Bottom line is I DO NOT RECOMMEND Affordable Granite & Marble. Regardless of what was said and who said what, a problem with the contractor should absolutely NOT have had anything to do with the job I hired him to do and finishing the work and reimbursement he promised me.
