Great! Receptionist made a same day appointment to replace the Dryer Idler Pulley Assembly that seized up, apparently a common problem for this make and model. Michael arrived on time and was professional and courteous. He went the extra mile and lubed all the drum rollers. He's worked on my appliances before and I'm glad he was assigned again this time.

We called Action Appliances in Aurora on Saturday August 20th to come out and repair our LG washing machine. Marcel came out and told us that he needed to order a part, but we had to pay him 523.36 before he would order it and 100.00 upon completion of the job. Two days later he came out with the part and said he fixed it, I tried to run the machine and it had the same problem as before. I tried to catch Marcel and tell him it still didn't work, but he had left. I called again and Cody came out two days later stating we needed another part for 150.00. Action twice told me that the part would be ready in two days. This went on for two weeks. Marcel came back out on Friday September 9th with the part and said that he needed my help in removing a piece of metal from the drum. He asked me to hit the metal piece with a hammer while he held the drum in place. The piece did not budge. Marcel then pounded the part while I held the drum in place. it didn't work. He told me that he needed to take the part back to his shop and would return the next day. He returned on Saturday September 10th and put the machine back together and said that we needed to order yet another part because I damaged the part. This is the part that HE INSTRUCTED ME to hit with a hammer. He told me it would cost another 200 - 300 dollars. He told me I was negligible for ruining the part. He could have been the one who damaged the part when he struck it with a hammer or back at the office. We refused to pay any more money, so he left. The machine does not work after paying over seven hundred fifty dollars in service and part fees. We could have purchased a new washing machine with the money we paid to Action Appliances... on sale at Loews for 650.00. I feel they should have suggested that the parts and labor would be more than the washer was worth at the onset. I feel that I have been taken advantage of and robbed. We have repeatedly called to complain about this situation to Action directly, but they say there is nothing they can do for us because we won't pay them any more money. We were left with a shell, no guts, of a washing machine, they refused to put it back together.

Called Action Appliance on Friday afternoon about 4:30. The lady said that a repair tech would be to me within 4 hours. I had not asked for a tech that late on a friday PM but they offered it anyway. The Technician (Mike) should up in about 2 hours and quickly discovered that the belt was bad on the dryer and had slipped out of place. He put the belt back on so the dryer would work and said he would return on Monday with a new belt. Late monday afternoon Mike returned and put on the new belt. He did an excellant job and left the utility room in good shape. Will be happy to use this company in the future.

They fixed nothing over a month's time and, in fact, scratched the floor and wound up diabling the front control panel. At the end they said board required was no longer available so they could nor fix appliance. They still wanted the money originally quted even thoguh nothing had been fixed. DO NOT use this company

This complaint is to raise public awareness regarding the business practices of Action Appliances in Colorado Springs. If you have an appliance that needs repair, please think long and hard before you contact Action Appliance. I sincerely believe they are unethical and appear to have no concept of what proper customer service is supposed to be about. On 13 July 2013, I telephoned Action Appliances to see if I could get a repair person out to my house to fix the ice maker in my refrigerator. Late that afternoon the repairman arrived and after examining the refrigerator told me he would have to replace the entire ice maker as well as the dual water valve. He went to his truck to prepare a bid for my approval. I was made aware that there was a non refundable $59 trip fee that would be applied to the total cost of the repair if I accepted the bid price. He provided me with invoice for $732.56 and told me it was company policy to collect full payment before doing any work. I asked him to break that down for me and he told me it was company policy not to break out parts and labor. By the way, when I researched the cost of parts up on the internet – OEM parts from GE for my refrigerator were less than $200. Now I realize why Action Appliance doesn’t want to separate parts from the labor costs – they are making a tremendous profit by substantially marking up parts prices. That should be a warning to anyone reading this. The repairman also stated he did not have the parts on his truck but that he would pick them up Monday morning (15 July) and then affect the repairs on that afternoon between 1 and 4 pm. The date and timeframe were clearly stated on the invoice. On 15 July, I took the entire afternoon off from my job so I could be at home to wait for the repairman. The repairman never arrived nor did I receive a telephone call from anyone at Action Appliance telling me there was a delay. At about 9 pm on the night of July 15, I received a telephone call from Action Appliance that began with, “What time would be convenient to schedule your repair tomorrow?” I told the person on the phone it wouldn’t be convenient and that I had taken five hours off of work to meet a repairman that never showed up as promised. The Action Appliance employee told me that they had had trouble getting a part. I responded by telling them a simple phone call to me when they knew they were not going to make the scheduled appointment would have saved me the inconvenience and loss in salary resulting from missed work hours. At that point I told the Action Appliance employee I was done doing business with them and that I expected them to fully refund my MasterCard for the $732.56 they had already charged. The employee noted they had a company cancellation fee policy. I don’t know what that policy is because I interrupted the person on the phone by saying, “We’re done here,” and hung up. I am disputing the credit card charge with MasterCard, but I would like to warn other consumers to be extremely leery of a company that charges in advance of any work being performed, as well as a company like Action Appliance which clearly has so little regard for their customers’ time. As a side note, shame on me for not doing my own due diligence on this company. The internet has plenty of complaints posted from disgruntled customers who feel Action Appliances’ core competency is in ripping off their customers.
Description of Work: Action Appliance failed to affect any repairs as promised in their written invoice.

Action Appliance, Inc showed up at my home to "repair" my microwave oven without the one tool that was required - a safety torque wrench. When I called them (twice) to request the service call to simply replace the light bulb in my microwave oven, I was very specific (both times) that this one tool was required, and they assured me the repairman would bring the tool. He showed up, four hours late, took one look at the oven and said, "Oh, I don't have that tool on the truck." So I said "forget it," then I went to Lowes and bought the tool myself for $2.50 and fixed the oven myself. They then sent me a bill for $55 for the "service." I called the vendor to explain the circumstances and that I had no intention of paying for a service I did not receive, yet they told me they were going to send it to a collection agency anyway. They seemed to have no sense whatsoever about keeping customers happy, preserving their reputation, or simply trying to work things out. Most repairmen that I have used in Colorado Springs are extremely competent, friendly, and reasonable. Action Appliance was the opposite in every way.
Description of Work: DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! The Better Business Bureau has received 173 complaints in the last three years and gives Action Appliance a rating of "F". No services actually performed. I requested that they come out to replace the light bulb in my microwave oven, but they showed up, four hours late, and did not have the one tool they needed to get into the oven. I had told them very specifically which tool was needed, and they had assured me that the repairman would not come without this one tool. He did, and wasted an entire afternoon of my time. See below.

Dryer wasn't working properly.
Description of Work: Do not use this company! The service men are paid by how much they sell you! I did not take the $600 bait of fixing my dryer. I felt dirty after the sales man left. I called Sears and they came out and said nothing was wrong and showed me how to properly use my dryer that has too many buttons!

Not satisfied at all. We still have to find out if the water heater repair will last!!!
Description of Work: Action Appliances Inc. did not come in the agreed time frame between 12:00 - 4:00 PM on 12/27/12, neither called 1/2 before as promised for a repair of a water heater. So we called the Company at 3:40 PM to find out. They said they will call the repair man to find out what happend and they would call us back after talking to him.. The Company did call us back shortly after that and told us that they were not able to contact or locate the repair person. Finally at appr. 5:00 PM they called again that they found him and asked if he could come "NOW"! The repair was scheduled for one of our Rental Properties. He arrived there at approx. at 5:30 PM. The work was done in appr.40 Minutes. The water heater is working for now and hopefully the repair will last. The Action Appliances Inc. had already deducted the repair amount from our credit card on 12/22/12, so I called them this morning 12/28/12 to send us a detailed invoice over the charged $ 450.00. My request was refused and they did not even apologized for the NO SHOW,wasted day and all the inconvenience.

When the serviceman removed the back of the dryer, he said he had never seen a steam dryer, he continued on to say he had never seen a dryer quite like this one with two belts. This is a Maytag dryer and this is supposedly a Maytag authorized service company. All this service man could harp on, was how I should purchase extended warranties for all of my major appliances since they are "built to breakdown". He said the nut was stripped and I would need a whole new blower assembly due to this one nut being stripped. Estimate for replacement around 400.00. He didn't even try to replace the nut as it was, just continued on about extended warranties. I told him I would have to think about. Called maytag, ordered schematics, and the stripped part is $11.82. I wound up calling another service company to have the dryer repaired. The first thing this new repairman said is you don't fix it from the back, you fix it from the front. And low and behold the dryer was fixed with the nut that fell off. It wasn't even stripped!!! Total cost of the service call for the second guy $144.00 including cleaning the dryer. A far cry from the 400 dollars Action Appliance was going to charge. On the positive side they did respond to my call the same day, but at what cost??????? I will never use this company again.

I had used them twice before in the last five years. So I thought that I would call them again because I had such great service before. The washer wasn’t working and I called them. I called and set up the appointment. They said that they would come the same day. We set up an appointment between one and four. They didn’t show up until seven. They didn’t call and inform me that they would be late. He said that he wanted the agitators of the washing machine. He pulled it out. He ordered one and it was $338. I had to wait. They arrived on Thursday to put it in. I called them and they said that they would be there between nine and eleven. They didn’t show up until two. They never called and informed me that they were late. They didn’t drain the water which was there in the washing machine. They didn’t check out the problem fully. They said that they leveled my washing machine but they didn’t because I found the parts on the floor. All they did was swapped the agitator and left. That was the last time I saw them. I was mad. I was angry. I called and told them what had happened and they never responded back. I would never use them again in the future.

After ruining my floor, they sent someone out (owner but he never identified himself that way) and they did replace/fix leak but did not acknowledge damage to floor and blew me off.
Description of Work: Replaced garbage disposal. Put in incorrectly causing leak which ruined floor. I tell everyone that they took no responsibility for ruined floor and NEVER to use them. Cannot remember exact date so I put in a date but I keep their magnet to remind me never ever ever ever ever to use them.

Not well! The pricing was entirely out of line.
Description of Work: My dishwasher was leaking at the bottom of the front door. The repair guy came out, diagnosed the problem and said I needed a new door seal (piece of rubber)--for $210, plus another $95 to put in!Pretty expensive piece of rubber. I wasn't convinced, so I said no thanks, showed him the door and then went online to buy the part for $70. It arrived within 48 hours.

The receptionist was very polite and professional, and set me up with several options for an appointment. She called back about a half hour before the repairman showed up, to tell me he was on his way, which I really appreciated, as I was given a two hour window. The repairman was prompt, did the job and replaced the faulty part, and explained the condition of the machine and why he replaced what he did. All of this was done in a minimum of time, and now it has been working fine ever since. I don't see how much better it could have been done, the cost of the part and the labor were about what I expected, and with no hassles I was very pleased with the whole experience.
Description of Work: The dryer was starting to make noise, and I couldn't be sure how to get it apart or fix it myself, so I called Action Appliance for an appointment.

Washing machine stopped working on a Saturday morning. Action was one of the few companies who could send out a technician the SAME DAY. Many of the larger companies couldn't get anyone to us until Monday morning. In the meantime, we didn't want to leave clothes sitting in stagnant water for that long. They arrived ON TIME and had part stocked on the truck and the machine was working again within an hour! The agitator motor had failed, and he was able to replace the part quickly. Repairman was uniformed, clean, courteous and very professional. I would highly recommend this company to anyone seeking appliance repairs, especially if you require emergency service.
