A-1 Freeman Moving Group

Long review so PLEASE read the entire review... It will be worth your time! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE to say the least! They were great in the beginning when they were wanting your business. After interviewing several companies, we decided to go with A-1 Freeman. Wow was that a huge mistake. They showed up 7 hours late form the time they were scheduled. They packed up about half of our things and said they would be back tomorrow to finish. They had our beds on the truck and refused to take them back off, so we had to go to a local hotel and stay the night. They said they would be back the next morning at 9:00 am. We were at the house at 8:45 am and they did not show so I called and was told they were running a little late. after numerous calls and just sitting and waiting, they’re being a little late turned into to eight and a half hours... They arrived at 5:40 pm. They were in a different truck. The truck they had, the lift gate would not work, they had not blankets or packing materials so they had to leave without moving anything else so there again we had to stay a second night in a hotel. They said they would return the next morning. Well they did but it was two different guys that had no clue as to what they were doing. They said they were there to only pick up a fridge... I had to get on the phone with A-1 and go through a huge argument to get them to finish the move. I ask they guys when they got finished, they were going back to the lot to combine what they had with the other things from the first day and he said and I quote "no dude, that truck has already f**king sailed to NC. They assured me everything would be on one truck and it was not. They arrived on time with the first truck but the move in was a disaster! It was a family of four, father, his 7-month pregnant wife a son in his 20's, another son about 10 years old. We moved into a brand new house and they did a ton of damage to our walls (scratches, chips and dents) there were a lot of places on the walls where they rubbed against with their sweaty shirts and left stains. They just threw boxed in rooms where they did not go and all boxes were clearly marked. When they were unhooking all of our electronics (TV, Stereo, computers, etc.) they just left all the cable on the floor so I asked why they were not with the items and he replied oh, I just put them all in one box when I am finished. I asked how he remembered where they went to and he said I know.... Well we never got the box with all the cables in it. We only had our box springs, so we had three more nights in a hotel. I asked them when the rest of our things would arrive, and their answer was "we don't know" so I went out and bought a new mattress to place on our box springs. We kept calling daily and got the same answer until they started ignoring our calls and not returning them. Sixteen days later the second shipment arrives, and this is where it really gets bad...! It was delivered from a totally company called E.E. Ward out of Charlotte NC. The driver arrived and was genuinely nice, but I could tell by his expressions that something was wrong. Before they started unloading, he said I need to talk to you... He said he had been doing this with E.E. Ward for over 20 years and he had never seen anything this bad. He said he took pictures of out things when they arrived in Charlotte and he was as shamed to have to deliver our things. They brought our brand new (2 months old) fridge off the truck and the doors would not close because the shelves were all broken and had shattered glass from every shelf. They outside had dents and scratches on it. Our LG stove looks like they hit it with a baseball bad and sat things on top of the glass top and it had scratched on it. Our new washer and dryer had scratches and dents all over it. They ripped our new king size mattress, our furniture had dents, chips, and scratches. We had to file a claim with our insurance for over $24,000 and they are going after A-1 to get their money back and I hope they do!
