Father & Son Maintenance

Provider did not respond to my Angie's List message regarding scheduling. I contacted him by phone. We scheduled a time for today. He asked his neighbor to call me to see if he could do the work since the original handyman was too busy. The neighbor was surprised at the type of work I needed and said it wasn't his area of specialty and he didn't know if the original handyman could do it, but he would ask him to call me back. I have not heard back, but I would like to try someone else.

Provided 3 available schedules at time of purchase. Jeff contacted me very timely and came by on the first selected schedule. Jeff and his team removed all the dead debris in the flower beds, trimmed shrubs, raked up lawn, pulled weeds and cut back bushes. No problems and no issues with the service.

I purchased a deal through Angie's List, and they came out when we had agreed, were very polite and worked hard for the hours I had purchased. The lawn looks great, although my trees haven't finished dropping all their leaves yet. I've asked them if they would come back again in a few weeks to finish getting all the leaves up, and they said yes.

Provider did not contact me as stated in the Angie's List coupon. I contacted him. However, he agreed to a time within just a few days. I asked that in 4 hours he weed the back yard and rake along the fence line. I do have a large yard. He was able to finish about 3/4 of the weeding. He also was ready to leave within 3 1/2 hours until I pointed out his arrival time. He did not have any tools or means of accomplishing any task given him unless the tools were supplied by the homeowner. A little disappointed.

The father/son team did a great job of picking up leaves and dead branches as well as pruning multiple bushes and trees.

It turned out pretty good. We were able to our door repaired.

These great guys arrived on time. They quickly figured out what the job would take to get done. Little talking...lots of CAREFUL drilling, gentle moving of furniture, perfect installation, nice finish job. I added extra money to them out of gratitude. Unconventional task completed with professional quality. They are on my "go to" short list now.

called yesterday to ask if he was free this week to do some odd jobs for me and told him all i needed done. he said he could do today and would have help to bring up a dresser. told him i had company coming into town this wk and if he was sure he could do it. he said yes so i didn't bother calling anyone else. called him back same day, per his request, to give him address and number and told him to call me to set up time today. it is 9am and so i called him to set up time. his response was 'ya, i can't. i don't have help.' very unprofessional to waste the consumers time and not have the courtesy to call me first thing, to make me have to call him back. awful service!!!

As usual, they rock! The yard looks great (both front and back). I've hired Father & Son Maintenance a few times and I am always pleased. The guy works hard and listens to what I need done. I would/will hire him in a heartbeat when I need help with the yard! He is professional and hardworking, a win/win combination for me.

They cleaned up the site and left it much better than they found it....great job.

I 'hired' Jeff, at Father and Son Maintenance, to provide snow removal services in February of 2013. On weekdays, the snow was ALWAYS cleared before I had to leave for work. It was especially nice to have someone who lived in my zip code that understood the amount of snow I would have, as it can vary so much in the Denver metro area. There were only a couple of times (on Saturdays), I had to remove snow on half of the driveway to get a car out for my daughter to get to work, before Jeff was able to do the work. I was pleased enough with his work through the winter (and crazy spring) to arrange for him to do my lawn services this summer.

It was a horrible experience. They are a horrible company. The owner, Jeff, ended up in my yard screaming at me so loudly my neighbors could hear it. He was bad-mouthing me to my neighbors, telling them I was trying not to pay the bill and he tried to charge us thousands more than we'd agreed on. It was an awful, terrible nightmare. Some of the reviews on Angie's List were kind of positive, but I don't know if maybe he had some changes in his life recently or something. He was kind of pushing us to get him money and pay the bill when he showed up early to do some of the last work, which we hadn't really agreed on. He ripped out a whole bunch of stuff, and then, when he was supposed to be putting in grass and sod, that was the last piece, and I failed my inspection with the city of Aurora, they wouldn't give me a sod permit because he hadn't properly prepared the ground, he said he was going to do it anyway because he needed the money right away. Then he gave me the bill and it was about $4000 more than he and my husband had agreed upon, and my husband works away. He'd been home and had negotiated it with him, worked with him part of the time and then he left and Jeff tried to get me to pay this inflated bill. So I called my husband who was in France at the time and said I just got this bill and didn't know what it was for so I asked Jeff for a detailed bill to see where the difference was and he got all angry. He was screaming at me, the veins popped out of his face and he was all red. He never raised his arm or anything, but he was so aggressive and he was swearing at me. After that I wouldn't talk to him anymore, my husband had to deal with him from France and we ended up cancelling the rest of the job and paying him what had been agreed upon for the work that he had done. I wouldn't have him back on the property, so his wife had to come pick up the check because I was like, if he shows up here again I'm calling the police. It was awful. I was so glad my mom was here the day that he confronted me in the yard because I have a little girl and my baby was watching all of this. I would not only not use him, I would warn anyone who was even considering him not to use him. It's a bad deal. If there was something lower than 'F', he would get it from me. His workmanship wasn't very high quality, and he charged us a full price for what he did. The workmanship was so poor my husband is going to have to redo some of the stuff that he did this summer. Another thing he did was he tried to move my fence while replacing some of it a couple of feet into my yard, which would have given my neighbors my property. He worked on the job for weeks.

They called as soon as it stopped snowing to check if we wanted them to come (I had talked to them several weeks ago to set it up). They came shortly & shoveled all walks & driveway wth shovel snow blower.

They were punctual and did a good job.

They did an excellent job and were done in 3hours. They moved all of the gravel into a small dump truck and took care of disposal. There were no issues and I highly recommend F&S Maintenance for outdoor work.

Took a little longer but he was thorough and helpful. Had to have someone else do finish work but it was a reliable job.

its great, they show up without being called, the job is done and an invoice left for me.

I am not going to waste my time giving a "start to finish". Don't waste your money. If Jeff was too tired to do a decent job for me he should have rescheduled the clean up.

Overall the planning and execution of the work was outstanding. We are extremely happy with the final product and plan on hiring Father and Son Maintenance to do additional work in our yard next year. See our answer to the first question for more detailed information.

They did the bare minimum work - left leaves under the bushes and along the sidewalk and driveway. I needed the yard cleaned up. I moved to another city and we need to sell the house. I wouldn't use this service again.

I was hard to reach but Jeff was persistent. He was responsive to my questions, special requests and scheduling needs. I told him we had a lot of debris that would need to be removed from the summer. He was very clear about my choices about paying extra to have debris hauled away, or leaving my trash bags for them to use and leave debris at the curb, or pay extra for their bags. It was great that he was so clear. I left the trash bags and they ended up hauling it away for no extra change. They showed up as scheduled and did a beautiful, thorough professional job. I would use them again.

I paid for 2 men for 2 hours or 4 total hours. When they came, only one person showed up and did work for 4 hours. However, he seemed to be very slow and did not finish the work -- even though he thought 4 hours would finish the work easily. He seemed to go very slowly and even slower at the end.

Jeff was terrific in communicating with me and scheduling a time for the yard / landscaping clean up. He and his colleague were on time, very productive and professional. I look forward to using Father & Son again and again.

Jeff said he would call me friday about doing an estimate. He ended up calling me Saturday instead. Once he called, Jeff came when he said he would. Jeff was very thorough and thoughtful about everything, though he seemed a bit like he "winged" things rather than doing things by the book (I have no idea what "the book" would actually say about landscaping, this was just a feeling I got from hearing him describe his plans). I had no doubt that Jeff would be very honest and straight-forward with me--he is one of those people you know you can trust when you meet him. I might have used Jeff for the project, but his bid was way above the others we got. Jeff's bid was $8000 and the two others were $4400 and $3500.

The service was fine overall. We were very satisfied with the work and their price. It would’ve taken us easily much longer to get the job done, but he got the job done quickly. He did a good job!
