They charged me $2200 for a toilet install. I called a number of other plumbers in town to get a bid after I felt I was unfairly charged, and the next highest bid from other plumbers in the area was $700. When I called to get some clarification on the invoice I was told to talk to the installer. I did, and he told me he wanted to be honest and felt bad quoting my team that high, but he doesn't set the pricing. He also let me know he had the receipt for the toilet which was $400 when I called their office to ask them about the addition $1800 I paid I was told: "they don't claim to be the cheapest, and they don't have access to an invoice to give me specific line item costs." I of course understand you get what you pay for, but 3X the amount is absolute robbery.

Patriot Pros technician did provide transparent pricing resulting in my paying an exorbitant price for a simple plumbing issue. Be sure to review each line item cost before approving and paying which, in a rush, I did not review. Patriot Pros does not honor their "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" marketing hype. Do not make the same mistake I made. Buyer Beware!

We noticed that both valves were slightly leaking but had been leaking for a while. I needed a plumber on a Friday afternoon and I called around and could not find anyone. So I called Home Advisor and they recommended Patriot. They came right out and the guy was a bit over the top with his professionalism. He gave me the quote that I thought was very expensive. He then spent the next 20 minutes trying to get me to buy into their yearly plan. I wasn't interested. The quote was for $819.00 and he proceeded to tell me that it was fairly involved to replace these valves. Since there was already destruction from the constant leaking and it was Friday afternoon I agreed to pay it. My bad. It took him about 1/2 hour to replace two small valves. The fact that I paid him that amount of money is on me. He took complete advantage of me. I wish I had read all of the reviews that stated how expensive they are. Lesson learned. Now all I can do is try to warn others not to make the same mistake.

Had this company out to look at our upstairs A/C unit because the outside fan had failed and as a result the system wasn't cooling. The system ran this way for an unknown period of time. We had a personal reference for this company so I really didn't do much checking on them. I didn't find them immediately here in Angie's list either, so I felt that a review needed to be posted of our recent experience. They were professional and punctual, however, they didn't even really try to troubleshoot our problem. Only deemed the unit as being obsolete (which is true; it is not manufactured anymore), wrote up that breakers had been tripping (which is not true, no idea where that came from other than maybe I had flipped the service disconnect outside because I didn't want the unit running accidentally until we knew what was wrong with it -- inside breakers were not "tripped" or turned off), and decided that the "fix" was to replace the unit at significant cost. They were in a huge hurry to "replace" the unit by telling us that they had the parts in stock and could do the repair "tomorrow." We live in the country and sometimes it is difficult to get service providers to the house, so I always appreciate service providers that will come out. In this instance, however, I feel like they were trying to pressure and take advantage of my wife because I wasn't able to be there; being a degreed Engineer I have a working knowledge of these systems and had worked HVAC as a summer job years ago and I knew that there was a chance that the compressor had failed due to the fan failing, but what was described to me sounded like he was playing buzzword bingo with her about EPA regulations related to older A/C units (even went so far as to tell us that if we tried to sell our house we couldn't due to the older unit -- also not true not that it matters we are not selling our house) and obsolete equipment that had to be replaced without actually troubleshooting the problem. We will not spend significant funds on any types of repair without a second opinion. We had a different company out (with good reviews here on Angie's List) who troubleshooted the problem and determined that only a few parts needed to be replaced; not the whole unit. We did pay for their minimum service fee, which at the end of the day we really paid them to quote us a new unit -- which most companies will do for free. Bottom line, I don't trust companies that do no real troubleshooting and jump immediately to a high cost repair. I will not call them again and have also informed my personal reference of how we were treated during the experience.

I always knew this business was not reputable. Today it was confirmed. Ironically, it has been 4 years to the date that I used Patriot Enterprise, but I still have the receipt. I was charged $840.47 for AC diagnosis, replacement of the capicitor and hosing the AC clean. I was also instructed that I needed to replace a water reducing pressure valve and water heater stop valve. This was all by the owner of Patriot Enterprises, Inc when he was called about the AC only. The total for all was $2770...I still have the contract estimate. I stupidly just had the AC repaired. Thank goodness my sense was something is not right and I allowed only the AC service for $840.47. If I had more sense, I would have said: "No thank you. I need another's estimate." Today....four years to the date, the AC capicitor needed replacement and it was done within an hour of my call. The cost was $142.

RIPOFF. I'm ashamed to admit I hired Patriot and paid $734.84 for 2 hours of Patriot's time doing a pipe cleaning. Javier, the owner/founder/'and quot;CEOand quot; on his badge' did the work, so this wasn't just a rogue employee. That 2h includes them driving back to their shop to bring the pressure washer. This was the lowest price they charged on their price sheet, which was not hour based. Later I called two other plumbers and found their prices were hour based, and 2 hours of work (and it would have been less since they would come equipped for the job) would go for $200-$300. I overpaid by 250%!I made things even worse for myself by buying into the monthly $20 and quot;President's Cluband quot; (that's seriously the name), which reduced the invoice by $110 to $624.60 but signed me up for $19.95/mo for 12 months of and quot;maintenanceand quot; on my home systems, thus increasing my total outlay. This maintenance would be three visits consisting of a furnace inspection, water inspection, and AC inspection. After the gouging I'd received I did not trust them back into my home to service and recommend any type of repair. After price gouging, to me it was too much risk of abuse of that inspection position to find things that aren't broken, or make them broken. There's an intentional psychological element at play here to. Notice how the prices don't go by hours of work, and they look extra and quot;detailedand quot; by including odds numbers of cents? That's to focus the mind on small things while missing the fact I was suckered into paying 365 dollars an HOUR for this service! Complete RIPOFF. Will NEVER use anything associated with Javier or Patriot Pros again. Steer clear and call a reputable plumber on Angies List.

Description of Work: I had an emergency plumbing issue approximately a year ago. The company did a good job with the work and the price was within the other bids I had received. I joined their Presidential Service- pay a monthly fee get a slight percentage deduction on work and get free inspections. The next time I had an issue they could not come as they do not work Saturdays-even though their website said they work Saturdays. Attempted to set up two appointments for inspections as part of service plan. Each time the date of the inspection came they called and said they were too busy. I will not do business with them in the future.

Hello Customer, I have no idea who told you we do not work on Saturdays as we always work around the Clock seven days a week. Is it possible that we were already busy on other jobs? The presidential services we provide do Include yearly inspections of your heating, cooling and plumbing inspections. We have a specified time for all those services as we are always dealing with emergencies that come in. Sometimes it can be hard to manage service calls versus Emergencies. This is a problem for all service companies. Another problem we often face is arriving at a job we expected to last for two hours and after further investigating realizing it will take longer. We simply have a policy of first come first serve. Once we start on a job we don't leave till the customer is fully taken care of. This is the same respect we would give you. We make every effort to get all contact information from the customer so that they don't have to wait around the house waiting for us to arrive so that they can continue with their day. Just as soon as we know for sure when he will be getting there we make it a priority to call the customer. Always remember that the best appointment to get usually is the first one of the day. All other times is an estimated time of arrival. Please keep in mind Customer that no one here has any intention of upsetting you as we very much value all of our customers. The truth be told that we are very busy and this would not be happening if we didn't value our customers and they didn't value us. If there is anyway I can help please let me know. My # 303-814-1297. Thank You. Javier J. Hoggard, Owner

I joined just now but HAD to post this to help out other unwitting persons in the area(like me)....We had just moved into the area in June of last year. It started to warm up so we turned on the A/C--no cool air. Uggh. I called Patriot and they were "busy" so I had to wait a week for them to show up. OK. I was not in a rush so I rolled with it. They did not show up on the day scheduled. I called them only to hear a list of weak excuses for the no-show. I asked why they hadn't bothered to call? Another list of excuses....When they did show up (late again--no phone call) they were at the very least apologetic. Fine. The work that they described needing to be done: refill the refridgerant and find the leak. $1,500.00!!! Woah.....but hey, the worked needed to be done so I paid. Fast forward to the next week....no cool air. Again with the lame excuses for not showing up ect...late without phone calls and now I'm beginning to get irritated. When they do show up--it becomes a problem with the air exchanger. They told me that the previous guys did not know what they were doing on the initial install. Seemed reasonable. Cost to replace: $3,000.00! At this point, I just wanted them gone and my A/C working. They performed the fix in about 45 minutes....wait a second I told the guy. "How much for the part?" He replied: $500.00. "Wait a minute, you mean to tell me that you are worth in excess of $2,500/hour?" Yep. He told me. He went on to say that he was faster than most in the industry and hey, "I"m wearing these booties to protect your floor." I promptly asked him that if I did some checking on his pricing would his be, "in the ball park" with everyone else? "OHHH, h*** yes!" he replied I did that checking only to find out that most would have charged about $500.00 to recharge the A/C and find the leak AND about $1000.00 to fix replace the same exchanger. GRRRRRRRR. I was so mad I could have spit nails! On the plumbing items they claimed needed done, here was their "Presidential Preferred Pricing": Pressure reducer valve replaced--$600.00; Sump pump installed--$1,500.00; Garbage disposal replaced--$600.00. Total: $2.700.00. Fine. I had all of it done (with guys who showed up on time) for....wait for it..... $750.00 lock, stock and barrel. Do not use these guys if you like your emotional stability AND your money!
Description of Work: Refill refridgerant in A/C unit--5 tonFind leak--turned out to be the connections on the unit. Easy to see and repair. A frame air exchanger needed replaced Recieved plumbing pricing on: Pressure reducer valve--replaced. $600.00Sump pump installed--$1,500.00Garbage disposal replaced--$600.00

Hello Member, I would have responded to your comment sooner, however since I don't subscribe to Angie's List we simply had no Idea there was anything posted. I can definitely feel your frustration reading your review on our Company and I believe you are making a lot of untrue and unfair statements. Often, a company is not judged on whether or not they will fail, but on how they respond to problems as they arrive. We have been in business for almost 17 years and have always maintained an A+ rating with the BBB, Tom Martino, and Team Dave Logan. We wouldn't have this tract record if we simply did business as you described it. It's hard for me to believe anyone in our staff ever spoke to you in the manner you have described and if so I am surprised as to why you never bothered to call me directly to inform so that I may have the opportunity to address it. My direct number is printed on everyone of my cards, so it's no big secret on how to get a hold of me. Our prices are based on budgets and have nothing to do on what we think we can get out of you. I can also tell you we are in line with many, many reputable companies that don't cut corners. With that being said, there are some that do cut corners and that makes all the difference on wether or not they may be cheaper. Everyone should always check the company's they want to hire before contracting them to do anything as it may not be that important until something does happen and many things do happen. The majority of the reason as to why we are so busy is because most of our customers do investigate us and find we are reputable and charge a fair price for the work we do. Member, I have no problems if you want to use the cheapest guy in town. Hopefully you made the right decision. I would have wished you gave us a call to express your frustrations to me before airing it on Angie's List. I think you would have been far happier. Take care of yourself and let us know if there is ever anything else you might need from us. Javier J. Hoggard, Owner

I was running an electrical line for a new exterior light and accidentally poked a hole in my CSST gas line (that's the yellow flexible gas line). It was on a Friday night around 8pm in early March. I shutoff the main valve to stop gas from leaking, but since it was going to be cold I was hoping to get it fixed that night so I could run the heat. I called Patriot's after hours line and they dispatched someone. Owner said it would be 20 minutes, but was more like 45 before someone showed. Service tech was friendly and I showed him right where the problem was. He confirmed that I had clipped the gas line, but said they did not have the necessary part and they would not be able to get it until Saturday morning. He then informed me (after 10 minutes in his van, presumably discussing with the owner) that the cost was going to be $650. He confirmed that the part (a coupling) was not expensive and that it would only take a couple of hours at most. I asked why so much and he said someting about "flat rate pricing" and "needing to run a business". Apparently, flat rate price is an excuse to gouge a consumer. This is my second experience with a plumber with this type of pricing and I strongly recommend staying away from companies that bill this way. My experience has been that you will always pay more than a reasonable plumber that bills by the hour (see Barnes Plumbing & Heating, Colby Plumbing, or Colorado Plumbing & Gas Lines). Needless to say, I called a different plumber on Saturday, had them come out and the total cost to fix it was $315, just confirming my original suspicion that this company was trying to take advantage of the situation and felt they could charge me just about whatever they wanted. While the service tech was friendly, this attempt at price gouging left me with a very bad experience. I'd stay away from this company.

Member, sorry about the late response to your comment on Angie's list. We don't subscribe to Angie's List so we had no idea there were any comments to respond too. Our prices have everything to do with our cost of running a business which includes insurance, Licensing, Training, Office Space, Customer Service Reps, Utilities, Service Trucks with Many Parts, Maintenance, Advertisements, Wages, Taxes, and Many other things. It has absolutely nothing to do with how much we feel we can get out of you. We used to charge by the hour and there were many Problems. The first one of course was "well if that's your hourly rate how long is it going to take?" The problem is someone may be able to afford it if its going to take one hour, however if its two then they can't. This usually always left the customer with an uneasy feeling on the cost of repairs. And what happens when the company sends the least experienced Technician out to your home to make the repair and it takes them twice if not three times as long, do you think anyone complains then? You bet they do as i would. We use a flat rate method of charging which simply figures average amounts of time the jobs usually take for it to be done correctly by qualified individuals. When we show the customers the price they can decide if they can afford it or not. We have been in Business for almost 17 years now, have received a total of 8 gold star awards from the BBB and are Members in perfect standing with Tom Martino and Team Dave Logan. We service many customers and many of them are loyal customers we have serviced for years. I'm sorry you did not approve of the way we bill for our services and felt we were trying to take advantage of you as that is very far from the truth. We wish you all the best and want you to know we are here for you in the event you ever needed us. Take care of yourself. Javier J, Hoggard, Owner

Over charged, took credit card info, and then FORGOT to bill till I got a call from them March of 2009. They blamed me for not keeping up on their accounting.( I had emergency surgery) Second time they forgot to bill. Way overcharged. Accountant was rude and was told not to use the credit card- I needed a 24 hour window to call the credit card company to find out if they were double billing. Within 20 minutes, she billed the amount on the card. Here is the letter sent the next day to the accountant: To Heather at Patriot Drains Enterprises January 19,2009 As per our conversation on January 15th, you called to inform that this company had neglected to bill be from March of 2008, almost a year later, for over $1200 in service. I explained quite clearly to you that because of your negligence, putting that amount on that credit card was forbidden by you. I find out today that you indeed ran the card on the 16th. The end of our conversation was that I would get in touch with the credit card, see if they could lower the rates since in March of 2008 I had the funds to pay off the card in full which is what I do every month, and I do not want $1200 on a card earning interest every month, and to call you back this Monday. I am appalled at you fraudulently billing this card and I have notified Discover of the theft of my card and number by this company. Maybe I need an attorney to have to deal with an unscrupulous company such as this, since your word means obviously noting at this time.
