It was very good experience. After 5 years, we were having a problems and they orignially built the deck. They came out and fixed the deck free of charge.

They designed and presented drawings of a deck that was both creative and attractive. The proposal included several options to appeal to different budgets. We chose the one that worked best for us. They started promptly and finished in just over a week (it would have been a week if it hadn't snowed). They moved our sprinkler system, extended our concrete walkway and redid the downspout that had crossed the concrete to drain underneath - no more ice in the winter! The deck was built very solidly - it'll still be standing after the house falls down (and that's been estimated to be 50 years away). The quality of the work is just outstanding - even the deck screws are perfectly aligned. As an afterthought, we asked them to add an additional railing which they did the very next day (additional cost - but we expected that and agreed to it first). Everyone that came out to our house was friendly and just plain nice. We would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them. They do high quality work that is worth the price.

Brian Bell, president, is excellent to work with. He spent lots of time with us in deciding who to get for our major basement construction project. He also was outstanding in terms of the design work, and managing a great team of trades people to make the overall project go smoothly. This included all permit work, rough framing, drywall, plumbing, gas, electric, HVAC, tile, finish carpentry, window replacements, etc., to take our completely unfinished basement (1400 sq ft) to a thing of beauty and personalized functionality. Brian's guys were great to work with over the months of this work (approx December to April start to finish). And Brian always had not only great suggestions for what would work for us visually, but also in our budget. I especially liked that Brian always gave us honest feedback on our "crazy" ideas for materials to use, little design elements with wood or tiles, etc, including knowing how to best say that our ideas weren't great ones, with full explanations of why he was saying that (note - he always said that he would do whatever we wanted, but that he also wanted to give us the best long-term investment quality for the work, based on the MANY homes he has worked on, rather than this ONE that we were involved in). There were a few times that it was challenging to get a hold of Brian based on his work schedule on other jobs, or with trade shows in Denver, but he always was VERY flexible, handled all problems directly and completely to our satisfaction, and helped us work with the other contractors outside of his control with our landscapers. I would definitely use Banell Custom Decks and Basements again, because they did an outstanding job, at a very fair price, with lots of high-quality flair that has gotten us MANY compliments from everyone that comes over our house now.
