In my view for the projects that I hired Wright-Built to perform, they were not very prompt in showing up to perform this work - Primarily because they kept putting off the start date and this happened on several occasions before they actually began work for me. I have to say that the work they did do was high quality work but they did not complete everything that I asked them to do. For example; they replaced the large skylight in my kitchen and it was suppose to include a solar powered shade installed in it. For some reason, there was a delay in getting the exact shade we wanted installed - so Wright built ordered the correct shade and I paid them for it and after a short delay they delievered the shade to me and they promised several times that they woyuld return and install the shade. However, they never did come back to install this shade and In fact, it is still in a box in my garage. They were also suppose to replace several damaged window well covers but they never did that, either. The question is; Would I use them again for any more home repairs? Based on my experience with Wright-Built not completing the work I asked them to do on my recent past projects, I would have to say that I probably would NOT use them again. I had planned on using Wright-Built to make rep[airs on my garage and barn but their delays happened so often that put us into the bad weather winter months that I decided we did not want to have any openings and exposue to the elements in my garage and barn. Therefore, we directed Wright-built NOT to order any materials and to hold off with any more repair work until next spring or early summer. BUT they went ahead anyway and claimed to have ordered all the materials which I do not believe happened because we had previously received several conflictiing messages personally on the telephone and also messages that were left on my answering machine. These messages came from the owner/contractor, his wife and from his receptionist about when and how soon the materials needed to be ordered. I do not appreciate misleading information or intentionally deceptive practices coming from a contractor that you are trusting to make important repairs on your home. Consequently, this is one more reason why I would not recommend and probably would not use Wright-Built again for any repair work on my home. In fact, when Spring rolls around this year, I still have some metal panel replacements to do on the walls and roofs of my garage and barn. However based on their past performances for me, I will not use Wright-Built to do any of this work. They just do not do everything they say they are going to do you!

An account of our experience with this project. contract sign on aug. 25, 2012 for new roof, 3 skylights, and new gutters on house. Also 2 additional contracts for garage roof and barn roof. We have an email agreement that we would start in about 3-4 wks. We did start roof on Sept. 27th, so a small delay but not huge. We finished work on oct. 2, 2012 on house. Home owner sent letter saying all work looked great. But still needed skylight shade and window well covers. Sky light shade was added at last min. We ordered with supplier but was a special order and had to wait for it to come in. We charge homeowner for product only not installation. We did install it at no additional cost at a later date. The window well covers were never in our contract nor an item in our line of work. I spoke with homeowners to verify we are continuing with the garage and barn roofs and the decide to continue with the garage roof but not the barn. We told them it would be a few more weeks before we could start and they were ok with that since it was just the garage. The scope for this project was a new pro panel roof and gutters. Pro panel is a metal roof that you measure the exact length and width of the roof and order the material to be custom made for the roof and takes a few weeks to be made and shipped. We ordered the material and were waiting for delivery. Since this product is custom made there is a no return policy for us. This is a $2000.39 order. We called homeowner and left a message to let them know we got the word on the product delivery day and when we would be coming to start. A few days later home owner calls saying they postponed the contract and we should not have ordered the product. We never received this message nor a letter as this was the normal way homeowner communicated with us. I have kept all letters to verify. They told us they wanted to wait until spring to do the work. We excepted this decision but requested for the material to be paid for and we would do work in spring. Homeowner said they spoke with the insurance company or mortage not sure which, and they said they would not release the funds for the material until installed. Spring come and they wanted to wait until summer. Just called homeowner and now they have other issues going on and are still saying we are doing work but not ready yet. We have paid for the material and never went after them legally because we believed they still want us to perform work. I just decided today to join Angieslist and found this review. I'm sadden that this homeowner feels mislead by me....I'm the one feeling mislead and out of pocket $2000.39.

I have a really old barn -- in fact, to call it a barn is a stretch. When I bought the house 18 years ago, the "barn" appeared to be two separate structures. The original structure is a fairly well built two-stall barn with a metal roof. The second structure looked like a makeshift add-on -- the former owners added some posts, nailed some plywood walls to the posts, and then overlayed the original barn with metal roofing panels to make the entire barn look like a single building. Since I don't have horses, it wasn't a concern that the barn might not be as usable as it could be. During the October 2012 windstorm, the pieced-together roof was literally peeled back halfway by a microburst of wind, which left the makeshift, second structure completely exposed to the elements (not to mention, the roof looked liked the lid on a giant sardine can!). I called one company listed on Angie's List to see if they could examine the damage and recommend a solution. The woman I spoke with said that they didn't do this type of repair work but then she VERY GRACIOUSLY AND WITHOUT MY ASKING, recommended Wright Built Roofing as a company she and her sister have used. First, a huge thank you to a company that would be honest enough to actually refer to me to someone else! I called the owner of Wright Built, Jeff, to discuss my repair needs. Although he was out of town, he sent a couple of employees to check out the damage. Upon his return, he actually had his wife pick him up from the airport and bring him directly to my house to look over my barn (not an easy drive, since I'm 35 miles southeast of DIA). He examined the damage and said that he could replace everything for three or four thousand dollars but then he said, "In all honesty, you could replace the entire barn for a few thousand more. So if you really aren't using it, and since the original barn is in good shape, maybe we should just tear down the damaged part and repair what's left." Which was exactly what I had been thinking. So, we settled on a price ($1000.00, which was less than what my insurance company reimbursed me for), and set a date for the repair work. His team showed up exactly when they said they would, completed the repairs exactly as described, hauled away all of the trash, and repaired the remaining roof -- all without me even knowing they were working! They arrived after I left for work, were gone before I came home, and didn't invoice me a single penny until the work was done (last Thursday). I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM WITHOUT HESITATION! I know that there is one other very negative review for this company on Angie's List. I mentioned this to Jeff, who said that he didn't even know anyone had reviewed his company, let alone left a negative review. Nor does he remember the incident. But, regardless of the circumstances that the previous reviewer noted, I am confident that Jeff and Wright Built will provide others an excellent experience as he did for me

I used this company just to check the status of the roof after moving into a new home. Jeff, the owner, noticed a couple minor issues and said they could fix them but he wasn't sure if they would be a problem. Before we could fix them, some rainstorms came through and we noticed water coming into one of our bedrooms along an exterior wall. We called Jeff back and discussed the issue with him. He thought the issues were related to the minor issues he found previously, so we proceeded to have his guys out to fix it. They charged $250 for this repair. After the issue was supposedly fixed, we proceeded to have the drywall fixed where it was damaged in the bedroom. However, during the next rainstorm, again water came in and ruined the drywall we just had done. When Jeff's guys came back to check on their work, I showed them where the issue was in the house and they said they fixed a different place on the roof because that is where Jeff said the problem was. At that point, they agreed to fix the actual problem, which turned out to be a 6 inch hole in the roof which they had missed because it was "covered in leaves". However, again, at the next rain storm there was water coming in the same spot. After this, I called Jeff to let him know that we again had water coming in but were not going to use his company any more because of repeated problems. He said he was "sorry about that" but did not offer any solutions. I would not recommend using this company for two reasons: 1) Their communication and organization are very poor, both with each other and with customers, and 2) their work was inferior in our case.

Today I join Angieslist and discovered this review....my recollection of the repair is vague. I didn't roof the project so trying to find and fix someone else's work is difficult to do. I believe this roof had 3 layers of roofing already on it. Finding one or more leak area can be challenging. I do believe I did repair a few of the leak issues, unfortunately not all of the problems. I do hope this homeowner did finally get her leaks resolved.

The owner was nice and cared about the quality of his work. He was a little hard to get in contact with sometimes. We did have trouble initially coordinating our schedules but we worked out the times for installation. He did have to come back a second time but did so willingly. I do think we got a good deal for our money and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: They installed a new gravel roof on our 2500 square foot home. Our prior roof had been leaking in many places.
