Called to repair furnace in early spring. Needed a gas valve replaced and he had to order the valve and would let us know when he got the valve. Did not hear anything more from him. Spring turned to summer and no need for the furnace so we sort of forgot about it. In Nov our electric range failed and we got a new duel fuel range and needed a gas line run for the new range. Had a different plumber install the gas line. When he attempted to relight the pilot on the furnace it would not stay lit. The gas line plumber called the first plumber to see if he had the valve and to see if he would come over and install it. He did, took about a half hour. He charged nearly $400 for the valve - highest internet price I found was just under $200. He charged a "health care act adjustment fee" and an "environmental fee". Total bill was nearly $600 for roughly a half hour. The plumber that did the gas line was here most of the day and charged under $450 and returned the following day to be sure all was well. This plumber was Jim Greenfield.
