+ -1 moreWell, John Mills and I had a handshake agreement that included price, dates, scope, and that he would do the work. He seemed honest. Then John changed the dates, the scope, and who would do the work on me. Instead of doing it himself, he contracted the work out to someone else for 50% less than what I paid him, and then he did not supervise the laborer. There were significant mistakes made that I needed to fix and I needed to do about 10 hours of cleanup after the job. I'm happy to be flexible, but he took advantage of me and was not upfront with me. When I tried to terminate the contract, he yelled and threatened me. I paid $18,500 for about 120 hours of work. I bought all the materials.
