Did not get request accomplished

I contracted with Craig (TJW owner) based on a referral from someone that he had done work for and with the BBB rating and Angies List referrals. This was to have a new window installed and redo a ledge (sill) adjacent to the window. Craig measured for a new window and ledge for me on Sept. 24th, 2014. I paid $335.00 for the window as he said he needed to pay Lowes where he was ordering it. (Craig also works for Lowes doing installs). I would pay the remaining amount when the installation was completed. My check cleared October 8th. I consistently contacted Craig to find out the status of the window so we could install before winter. He did answer his cell phone a couple times, said he could not talk right then, and said he would call me back. He never did. Other times I left messages to have him contact me and I never received a response. We finally spoke on Dec. 5th, when I called him. He was in another state. He scheduled me for the install for January 2, 2015. On January 2, 2015, Craig called from Lowes and said they had lost my window - presumably had put it in with someone else's order. The window would have to now be reordered. He told me it would take only a couple weeks and he would make me a priority for the install. January 25th, 2015 (3 weeks after the window should have been reordered), I called Craig once again for the status. I left a voice message on his cell phone and asked him to call. He did not contact me. I called and left another message on January 27th and January 31st. Again, no response. I went to Lowes on February 15th. I spoke with the on-duty manager, Jonathan. He does know Craig and said Craig comes into that store often to help with their installs. This is the store at 5600 W 88th Ave, Westminster. (88th and Sheridan). He tried checking his system to see if the window had been reordered and could not find anything. He did explain that if the window was reordered from a different Lowes, he would not see that. I then sent an email to the TJW Construction email address. I asked Craig if he intended to follow through on his commitment. If not, I asked for my window payment of $335.00 to be refunded to me. I also asked why this had gone on over 5 months. I asked for a response by the end of February. I did not get any response and have not heard anything since that time. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on March 18, 2015. As of April 6, 2015, they have not gotten a response from TJW Construction either. I am requesting to have my money returned to me that I paid ($335.00).

Craig, David & Kyle showed up around 9am as planned and were quick to get to work. They were professional, efficient and friendly. I watched as they carefully removed the old windows without unnecessary breakage or mess. They were considerate in working to keep the glass breakage to a minimum. This is important for my children's sake. As they installed the new windows, there were challenges with how the house was not square. They were able to install the windows perfectly square with an even reveal when the window was cracked open. (the reveal shows how well the window is square, true and plumb) If it sounds like I have done this before, I have not. This brings my next point that the Craig explained things with the attitude of a teacher. This allowed me to better evaluate how and why I was getting a good product and install. Craig and his team are the ones Lowes calls in to fix other install mess ups. I would highly recommend them for your window installation.

I liked just everything about them; they did a great job. They were professional. They came on time and they did the work, and I am really satisfied with them.

I ran into Craig at Lowe's, while I searched for a quick solution to my storm door problems. I wanted to install a storm door, and had already purchased the door before I realized that It wouldn't install in my doorway due to a lack of frame space. Craig first explained that I would just need to build out the doorway, and gave details on how it would need to be done. I must have looked pretty confused, because he patiently explained again. I asked him if HE could do it, and it just so happened that he could. One business card, and one estimate later, it was done. In retrospect, the solution was a big "duh" moment for me, but Craig made it easy for me to just continue installing the door as planned after he eliminated the headache caused by my builder's assumption that nobody will ever want a storm door... I would most definitely hire him again, and plan to call him soon about a basement.
