She says she does pet sitting for free for her regular clients and talked up her skills very highly on the phone, will only give you a quote in person. Talks about how reliable she is and even gives you a little schedule and paperwork that makes it seem possible. We were going out of town and needed someone both to watch our pets and clean our house. She rescheduled our initial meeting two times which was clever because it got us into a scheduling corner before our trip. We tried to reach her 'best' references several times and none of them would return a call or speak to us about her. She insisted on getting a 6 month deposit for cleaning in advance with a tale of customer loyalty and relationship integrity. I gave her a check for 6 months of cleaning which she cashed that very day. She fed our pets during one week away, and did one very superficial cleaning-meant to be a deep cleaning-which she blamed on the neediness of my pets (the two most laid back senior pets ever). Payment was $582. I'm putting our loss at $500, plus new locks. But actually if you count the emotional drama, its more like a zillion personal energy dollars this has cost. One broken appointment after another and never any personal responsibility on her part: the weather, the car, illness, other people, other people's illness, other people's kids, other people's schedules, on and on?? She promised me Tuesdays, no Wednesdays, can we switch to Friday? She never came back to clean our house, not once. She stopped calling with excuses and the incessant rescheduling after a few months and stopped returning my calls and emails all together. And now it's been one year. I just filed a report with the BBB so it will be on public record to warn others. To be quite frank after living through this and all of the myriad excuses I wouldn't want her anywhere near my home, let alone in it.
Description of Work: Out $500 bucks and then the expense of replacing all the locks. She came to do a one week house/pet sit visits with a deep cleaning. She rescheduled that initial meeting twice (car, weather) and was a very superficial cleaning ($82), blamed on our pets. In order to do this house sit and cleaning she requested a 6 month cleaning prepay. We paid $582 and she failed to deliver $500 of cleanings. A series of excuses accompanied the many cancellations and eventual no show and then refusal to return my calls. The drama still unfolds as I filed a complaint with the BBB to warn others away from this prepay nonsense. Call a professional cleaning company. They come on time as scheduled, are polite and hard working, don't tell you it's your fault or your pets fault or everyone on planet earths fault that they cant clean. They just come and clean.

Overall, I would not recommend Jill to anyone. She was easily overwhelmed, took a long time to complete only a few tasks, and was not open to communication about what needed to be done. She wanted everyone (people and pets) out of the house while she cleaned (even though I had just met her and wanted to get to know her before leaving her in my home alone). She was stressed when doing the work and when her vacume broke...she just packed up and left without completing the job (pre holiday party for me). However, she did take my check and cashed it the same day. She later called and apologized for not completing the job. When I called to find out what happened and talk to her about what was not done, she sent an email about how she was stressed and was helping me because I was desperate, but that I had unrealistic expectations about what could be done. I called her a second time and asked to speak with her via phone instead of email. She called back and left a message that she needed me to pre-pay for services or she could not keep working for me. Strange. I was dissatisfied, but she was asking for a pre-pay. She was late for both cleanings (I had her come twice) and was late to work on a job with a friend of mine as well. Further, my friend told me that she did a poor job cleaning her home and had to do half of her house at a time, in order to clean in a quality manner. My friend also had her clean twice. We both informed Jill that her services would no longer be needed and we would not have her back in our homes, nor recommend her to anyone. And...don't pre-pay!
Description of Work: Jill was hired to clean the house: baseboards, windows, floors, vacume, dust...the basics. She managed to clean the refridgerator, the windows (downstairs only), and wiped the counters and sink down. She failed to complete the rest of the work.
