About us

DCP is owned and operated by Steven W. Hughes, currently of Broomfield, Colorado. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1995. He has been involved with the construction industry in one form or another since 1993. Steve is an engineer who seeks practical solutions to everyday construction problems. Many engineers see only a textbook solution and are therefore limited in their creative ability. While these types of solutions are not wrong, they are often excessive and costly. Approaching the same problem from a “whole house” perspective often allows other solutions to present themselves. Steve continually strives to come up with realistic, workable solutions that ease the construction process. And he also willingly accepts input from the men in the field. Sometimes the best and easiest solutions come from those hardworking people on the job site.
