i went on line and used live chat to set up an appointment. customer service called me within 10 minutes to schedule a time for the comfort advisor to come and give us an estimate. The comfort advisor arrived promptly at 6pm and spent about 45 minutes with us discussing our options , he took the time to answer all our questions and was very professional. After receiving several estimates we made the appointment for installation for the 20th, They called the day before to confirm and it was a good thing they did for they had the time for the morning and i had written in my calender the afternoon. The team of technicians arrived on time and were very professional and answered any questions we had. The team were here for approximately 6 hours and cleaned up their mess once the job was complete.

After inspecting the ducts in all floors the provider told us that they had been cleaned before we moved in. He did not charge us for coming to the house and our money was refunded by Angie's List. It is a joy to find honest companies through Angie's List.

Brenton was really great to work with - he was professional but friendly. He changed all the filters and cleaned the machine. We just bought this house and it was clear the cooler hadn't been maintained probably since it was put in so all the filters were in bad shape. He took them out and replaced them. The only other comment I would make is when I asked if he could replace the filters he said it was an additional $200 from the routine maintenance fee of $145. I went out and bought filters and he replaced them for an additional $99. When I priced other companies for the same replacement of the filters - this is by far was the most expensive quote but overall I would definitely use them again. They came and completed the work on time and were very reliable and everything works nicely.

The service call went very well, the team that came out provided a very thorough evaluation and inspection of our a/c unit and showed us exactly where the issues were. They provided us all our options in terms of cost of fixing our current unit and life expectancy (it was already just over 10 years old) as well as several options for replacing the unit, along with future energy costs for a much more efficient unit and Xcel Energy rebate options and financing. We went with a new unit which they installed two days later and we couldn't be happier with the new a/c unit, plus they want they integrated it with the new thermostat and our existing furnace and solar system. We will be much cooler this summer, and I can't wait to see how much we save on our energy bill.
Description of Work: Our a/c unit died, and Cooper heating and cooling identified the issues (there were many) gave us our options and installed the new a/c unit we decided upon.

UPDATE 10-20-2013: I wanted to follow up to say that Cooper did make everything right, and now after owning the system through a full set of seasons, the system has been totally problem free and has run perfectly. They corrected every single issue without delay, and made the required overall process changes to avoid problems like this in the future. Suffice to say that is a very rare trait that should be rewarded. I would happily recommend them to anyone now, and still do. -------------------------- First, let me start by saying that out of any of the local contractors, Cooper is by far the best. I am a former Space Shuttle engineer, and their workmanship impressed me, which is difficult to do. Incredible clean and courteous. They were methodical in their calculations to size the system perfectly for our home, and also worked in some special air purification devices to help with my allergies. They got our heat up and running quickly before we had a large blizzard and worked well past 9 pm to get it finished. Top notch all the way. The were not able to charge the AC system because they forgot the tools. Being late, we were ok with rescheduling that for later. HOWEVER, the service has fallen apart on following up with the AC activation. The system has been installed for over a month and just needs to have a vacuum pulled and charged with the coolant. We have had two 80 degree days and it has been absolutely miserable in the house. I haven't slept well at all. We had a scheduled appointment yesterday at 1pm for them to charge the system. They didn't show up until 3:30 pm with no apologies. They spent a half hour looking at our system just to tell us that they ONCE AGAIN DID NOT HAVE THE TOOLS! So instead of going and getting them, they said they would be back early in the morning. THEY NEVER SHOWED! Called today, and nothing had been scheduled and they were not aware something needed to be done. They said they would have someone out right away to get the job done. 20 minutes later we get a call saying they cancelled once again because it was cooling off outside (charging depends on outside temp being above 65F) and we would be delayed AGAIN! We don't have great airflow in the house, and with my allergies opening the windows is murder for me. So it is still 80 degrees inside and I get to spend another night miserable. Had they shown up this morning, it was 68 outside at our home by 10am and it could have been charged. Suffice to say I am not a happy camper with Coopers follow up service at this point. I would recommend them based purely on the quality of their work, it was top notch. However, have some patience because their follow through with any outstanding tasks is terrible.

Our entire house had been remodeled and the construction debris was left in the ducts and was causing my husband and myself some breathing issues. After we had the ducts cleaned all was well again. The two young men did a fine job. They also cleaned my outside A/C unit heading off some future repair issues.

I had written a basicaly negative report on the subject in March 2013 and had reported a complaint to Angies List re the same. This report is to retract my reportt insofar as their quick response once I made the complaint. Specifically, once my complaint was issued to Angies List I received a prompt response from Angies List as well as a phone call from Mike Murphy the Instillation Manager of Cooper Heating and Cooling who asked permission to come and view the reason for my complaint at my earliest convenience. He came either that day or the next ( I don't recall which) as good as his word. Brought a check with him since I had double paid fot the Angies List special ,and double checked the furnace and humidififier. They truly stand behind their work. I will assuridly use them for my next cooling or heating issue and highly recommend them.

I can't explain how thorough the service was from the time I walked into my home until he left. He fixed my issue for the agreed upon price. He didn't try to rip me off as other company's have. The company itself was very professional and so was the employee.

They charged me $350 for a service call and I provided the part which only took 10 minutes to replace. The repairman did a hard sell for a new boiler and never followed up with any other options ( which was promised).

Setting up the appointment was easy, they arrived on time and performed the checkups. Found a small leak in the A/C coolant and fixed it with no issues and little cost.

The service people have always been punctual When the serviceman arrived he said that the water in the floor was due to a plugged humidifier filter and that I was very lucky that it had not dripped on an electronic control positioned directly below the humidifier filter which would have been a VERY expensive repair. I pointed out that a Cooper Serviceman had installed that control in that position when the furnace had been installed by Cooper in March of 2012. He indicated that he was surprised since that should NEVER be placed under the humidifier filter.( He moved the electronic control to the side of the furnace and well away from the humidifier) He did not have the proper size Merva air filter but quoted a price of $144 ea. He said it would take a few days to get it to us since this was a Saturday and there was no truck coming this way over the weekend. which is understandable. I asked him to hold on before he ordered the proper size from the office while I checked Amazon for a price on the same filter and found that I could get it from several sources for about 2/3 of what they were quoting. When he presented his bill for the humidifier filter a charge was included for the Angies List deal which I had already paid on line thru Pay Pal. He said that he had to collect the charge or the office would be all over him. I tried to contact someone at Angies List but that was impossible, so I wound up paying for the deal twice. We have contacted Cooper twice as well as Angies List and both parties have told us that a check was issued early last week but none has been received and it has been 2 weeks since we first contacted Cooper. Angies List has been very responsive to my complaint. The same cannot be said for Cooper. I will not use them again. The payment issue is a pain but the fact that their technician installed a n expensive control in a location which could have cost a lot of money if it was damaged by moisture shakes my confidence in their competence.
Description of Work: Bought a duct cleaning deal. When the serviceman arrived he showed me what I was told was a leaking humidifier which was in the process of killing the furnace. We purchased a new furnace, top of the line filter, and a humidifier. This was March of 2012. I was told the Merva filter had a life of 12 months so need ed to be changed this March along with the humidifier filter. I saw another deal Cooper was running for a 20 some point inspection of the furnace for $69. I bought that with the objective to check the furnace and bring a filter since the Merva is not available from Lowes or Home Depot and also check some moisture on the floor in front of the furnace.

SInce our elec panel was outside, I didn't even have to be home. They called to check on the install and when I had some questions, gave me the # of the installer so I could talk to him direct. Clearly, he was very knowledgable about the product and invited me to call back should I ever have any questions in the future

We were able to get same day service (within a few hours of the call) on a very cold weekend when our furnace stopped working. Service charges were the same on the weekend as they are during the week. Serviceman (David) kept us informed of the time he would arrive and called prior to arriving. David knew immediately what was wrong, the fix was quick and we've had no trouble since it was repaired. David was also very friendly even though he had a very long day, it was late in the evening, and he still had to drive an hour to get home. We would call this company again for service.

I had seen the booth at CostCo before advertising discounts on the purchase and installation of Lennox heating and air conditioning units. As we were in the market due to some issues with our current system, I decided to find out who the local representative for CostCo and Lennox was. Cooper Heating and Cooling was the name that came up, and so I contacted them to set up an appointment for an estimate. This company was both courteous and efficient when making the appointment for the estimate, and it wasn't too many days out from when I called. On the day of the estimate, the company's representative called ahead to indicate they would be arriving soon, but would be a few minutes late. They ended up arriving almost half an hour late, which is why I gave them the lower score on punctuality. The representative went through and reviewed the existing system, took the appropriate measurements, and then provided information on some available systems while indicating that he would be able to provide a quote after entering the system details back at his office. No complaints there, apart from the punctuality and the slight innuendos about "You should really get a system soon." After talking to and receiving quotes from two additional companies, I had not yet received an estimate from Cooper. I contacted the representative, as he had given me his number, and he told me that he had given the information to another department to send out. He contacted that department and they got the estimate to me within the day, which was appreciated. However, after talking to the representative about humidifier options, he hadn't included them in the quote. I e-mailed him about this and he got back to me shortly, and gave me an estimate (though without any options). The failure to get the estimate out in a timely manner and failing to include the requested information are why I gave them a lower grade on responsiveness. When looking at the estimate, after taking into account all the deductions that would be provided from Lennox as well as the rebates we'd receive from CostCo, Cooper was in line with the numbers we'd seen from the other companies. As the CostCo rebates didn't provide a financial incentive, the minor delays and mistakes that Cooper had already made raised enough concerns that we chose another company. I would note that I think Cooper could have installed a new furnace and air conditioner setup just fine. Lennox makes good systems, and Cooper has a strong enough reputation as of their current reviews that I don't think there would have been a problem with the final product. I give them credit, too, for having another individual call us to ask about our experience with the representative. They just weren't the company for us.

Unfortunately, the fan motor was totally quiet the day Cooper came out. Kris, the Cooper technician, seemed very knowledgable and performed a full inspection. He did find that the furnace was not leveled correctly by the installers, but he did not have any shims with him to level the furnace as per correct installation instructions. He then offered to come back two days later to insert the shims for $129, which I didn't think was fair. I had another HVAC company (Quality West) coming the next day to install a humidifier. Quality West shimmed up the furnace for free.
Description of Work: I used an Angie's List &69 coupon for a Cooper's furnace inspection because of a noise my inducer fan was making.

Dear Member, We are sorry that you have indicated that you would not use us again because we did not have the necessary material on our truck for an unanticipated repair. Typically when we are performing a furnace inspection, an unlevel furnace is not something that we run across. As you indicated in your review, a furnace should always be installed perfectly level. I believe that $129 to return to your home with the material necessary and to complete the repair was a very fair quoted price as there is certainly no profit margin in that amount. However, I am very pleased that the second contractor you called had something on his truck to level a furnace and that you did not have to pay for a return trip. We typically use Cooper for all of our HVAC work. Their work has always been top-notch and a good value. Their prices are not the lowest but we know that we will get quality work for a fair price.
