My deck was in need of replacement. I had the deck painted a few years ago at the same time I was having the house painted to essentially clean it up with a quick fix. The problem was having two dogs running across the deck the paint was chipping and pealing away. I finally decided to have it replaced as I was sick and tired of cleaning up paint chips in the house. I called John to come out and take a look at my current deck and to provide ideas on what he could do to rebuild it. I knew that I wanted to replace it with a new composite one along with new rails and gates to either keep the dogs in the yard or on the deck and to minimze the running across it. John was able to provide a pdf image of what the finished deck was going to look like along with his quote within a couple of days. He wasn't sure how my awning was currently supported so he took the time to come back and cut a piece of the deck out to see how it was supported and update the quote based on the information. I thought it was great that he was willing to come out and verify what he was getting into before actually being awarded the work and also to finalize his price so there wouldn't be any need for adders after the work had started. Once the work started him and his team were very punctual each morning and arrived to work. It essentially took 5 days to tear out my current deck and rebuild a new one along with rails, gates, and new supports for my awning. By the end seeing the finished product I was more than impressed with the work that John and his guys had done to create a new deck that not only matched what I was l hoping for but exceeded it. I would highly recommend hiring Barefoot Decks again for any work that I may have. I especially liked that fact that the estimate John provided was the final price and their were no surprise additions. Thank you Barefoot Decks!!

John was very responsive to our original call for an estimate and he worked very hard to provide the deck we wanted for the amount we were willing to spend. He understood our timeframe and was able to get the new deck installed earlier than our deadline. We were very impressed, not only by John's professionalism, but also by the work ethic of the guys who tore out our old deck and installed the new deck. It was obvious that they knew what they were doing and the finished product reflects that. To complete the package, they cleaned up completely once the deck was completed. The new deck is the only indication that any work had been done. We would recomend Barefoot Decks to anyone who is looking for a new deck, properly installed, at a reasonable price and in a reasonable amount of time.

I did not choose Barefoot Decks because the design was uninspired. I was impressed with their timely responses and professionalism.

Our new deck is beautiful. We love it.

I called several contractors to obtain a quote - six to be exact. Only two responded and came out to provide an estimate. Only one returned with a prompt, professional, well explained estimate, with drawings and detail. John from Barefoot Decks was outstanding. He was always available to answer any questions and kept in contact with us during the tear down of our old deck and build up of our new deck. His pricing was surprisingly reasonable. John and his workers were very prompt, were here when they said they'd be and worked their tail ends off! They battled the daily thunderstorms and always cleaned up every evening. They got the job done in a relatively short period of time and did a high quality, excellent job. We were unsure of the design and he assisted us with his quick computer imaging. He also poured a concrete landing for the stairs that he relocated from the original design. Finally, he put in the dry space area so that we can sit out in those thunderstorms and not get wet. He and his staff (Randy) were very kind, very professional, treated my dogs very well and were great to work with. I would recommend them to anyone and wished we would have used them at our cabin just prior to this job.

John was great. he helped us choose materials to make a great composite deck but not break the bank. He stayed in touch with us and got the building permit from the City of Thornton. I really love the deck. Great quality and we had a party the first night of completion, July 30 2011! Thanks again to John and his crew!

I contacted John to give me a bid on a deck replacement project. He arrived promptly and looked at the area for the deck. John told me he could see some potential issues with zoning and that I needed to contact Jefferson County before we could proceed. Following his advice I found out that due to building regulations I could not legally put a deck back where the old one had been. I was impressed that John sensed there might be issues and that he alerted me to them even though it meant he would not be doing any work for me. I offered to pay him for his time and he declined. If I plan another deck project John at Barefoot Decks is the first phone call I would make.

Excellent, zero complaints. Finished product is of superior quality, aesthetically and functionally excellent. John is extremely professional and competent, therefore a pleasure to work with. I give him my highest recommendation to anyone looking to add a quality deck to their home.

John's crew of 3 guys arrived May 17, to begin removing the old deck. They had the old deck totally dismantled and roof supported in 3 days. Day 1-3: The old wood was removed to a flatbed trailer and was hauled away at no charge to us. They started on the permanent roof framing. Day 4 - 5: They began the frame work for the deck floor. Time was spent on laying framing for cement lower deck. Cement was delivered, prepped in the framing. Day 7 Returned to remove all cement framing and clean up any additional trash and picking up any remaing tools. John called several times after the job was done to check if everything was doing ok. Job well done

I chose not to use their services. it was too expensive for me.

They showed me a computerized version of what it would look like, but there were no follow ups. It would have been helpful if they did follow up. They did not charge anything for the estimate. He was pretty responsive at the beginning. There was one portion on which they did not give me the estimate and I am not sure why. He said that he would give it later and I never got that. The guy that came out was barefoot and I am sure that he was not the owner. I finally went with another company.

Everything was terrific. They removed the existing patio, built a wonderful new composite deck and a wood pergola. They also hired the sub-contractor to come in and add a small patio on the side. All the work is excellent and exactly what we wanted. John, the owner, was very nice, professional, responsive and reasonably priced. The crew was also very nice, professional, on time, cleaned up every day and was really great with my dogs. They even added a second step when the deck was higher than planned (to grade the soil underneath) and still had it all done in the time they originally committed. We could not be happier with the end product; everything is beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this company. We will definitely be calling John when we finally decide to finish our basement.

They gave me a quote for a new deck. They were prompt and the guy who came out was very nice. I don't think they had full service which I was looking for because they wanted me to get an architect involved and I didn't think it was required. He was fine with the estimation process. I may use him in the future but not for this project.

We hired John to build a small deck on the back of our house. He did an excellent job from start to finish. The deck was exactly what I wanted. His crew did an amazing job. He was professional and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him.

I have a hard time visializing things, John was extemely helpul in producing an image of my new deck. During the project the worksite was always clean. I am very happy with the final product, the materials are of the highest quality. My family and I are always enjoying the deck!
