Afford-A-Rooter

Our house is less than a year old and still under and quot;warrantyand quot;. We've had the same back up problem numerous times prior to this and the builder has been unable to identify the problem. The gentleman who came out was very professional, worked efficiently, and explained how the clog occurred. He also identified what appears to be a and quot;ventingand quot; problem. He documented everything and when we asked if he would be willing to explain what he found to the builder he said he would be glad to. We've made 4 calls in the last week, 2 to Afford-A-Rooter, and 2 to the gentleman who performed the service, and no one will return our calls. It is apparent they are not willing to back up their verbal and documented statements. We are now very suspect of the work that was done and the integrity of the information we were given. They do not appear trustworthy!

Prompt response to initial call, scheduled appointment right away. AJ showed up on time. diagnosed the issue, offered clear explanation and advice, cleaned the drain quickly. He was friendly and did good work. Will certainly call again.

Never received response for quote from email

The provider was rude, he refused to give me an itemized invoice, and he left trash in my bedroom and my front yard. I feel that I was overcharged, since he refused to show me the breakdown of costs for parts, labor, and the senior discount (which they advertised).

He is straight up. He is everything that you would want in a service person. Another company quoted me about $250 and he came in at $125. He uses a jet and it blows everything out and I can see people pay twice what I pay. I will use him in the future without question.

A.J. called before he came, he was polite and right on time. I had no idea what was wrong with my front loader, it smelled and I thought maybe it was the drain.I ran the cleaner through the washer the day before and the whole house smelled like the cleaner. A.J. just pulled out the drain and ran the washer, and followed the pipes to the basement, and said it was not a drain problem. It was less that 5 minutes, he didn't even charge me a service charge. What awesome customer service! In a day and age where it is hard to find honest, quality service I was amazed by this! Thank you!! Especially since I will now have to call an appliance repair service to get to the bottom of the smell. I would highly recommend this company,they did not take advantage of me and they put their clients first. The next time I have a plumping issue I will be calling Afford-A-Rooter.

AJ arrived at our house within 2 hours of our call on New Year's Day. Our kitchen sink was plugged and we were expecting company for dinner. He was very thorough and very professional. He spent 2 hours cleaning the kitchen line, even getting on our roof with snow on it, to clean it from the vent. As senior citizens, we would highly recommend AJ and Afford-A-Rooter. His price was extremely affordable, and he did not charge us extra for the holiday.

We heard a constant hum from the sump pump last evening and found the motor trying to run but nothing being pumped out. We pulled the plug and called for service. Joe found nothing wrong with the pump. A switch was turned off that should have been on and the outside drainpipe was frozen solid. We had not thought of the drainpipe as we knew the water pumped out a few days before as snow was melting. An unusually long cold spell caused freezing and pitch of the pipe was wrong at the end of the pipe. Joe was very knowledgeable and honest. He got things working again and gave us good information for the future. We will definitely use this business for future plumbing needs. We would recommend them to others. We felt the service fee was reasonable too.

I had a major plumbing issue. Our main drain pipe was totally clog and backed up. I place a call to Afford-A-Rooter. They were professional and courteous. They advised me that they would have a technician call prior to coming to my residence. I received a call from a technician (A J,) He was prompt, professional and knowledgeable.. Identified the problem , went right to work and corrected the problem in a short amount of time. You can use more technicians like A J. Cudo's to Afford-A-Rooter. Thanks again Ron W.

The technician unclogged the main drain pipe to the house

I called Afford a Rooter and they came out in several days. Did a great job cleaning the main line.

We are in our 70s and unaccustomed to this kind of work. The city camera-located a break at the main city connection from our sewage pipe and mandated a fix. The city official, Mr. Villarreal was wonderful to us--kind, understanding, and patient. He sent a list of possible excavators. I took the list and checked references on BBB, Angie's List, and HomeAdvisor. Afford-a-Rooter was well regarded, so I made a short list of contractors. This is a job the city licenses, issues permits on, and inspects, so whoever does it has to be professional. In any case the range of quotes we got was amazing, from $3800 (Afford-a-Rooter) to $5000 to $6800. Now, that's scary. Since any work had to be up to standards we went with the cheapest, well-referenced company. Trevor, the Mgr, was great. We had a few misses on timing (I assume owing to busy-ness) but everything went quickly and well, even early. The crew was professional, easy to work with (with good command of English, necessary in our case), pleasant, and efficient. We would recommend Afford-a-Rooter any time. They were terrific.

Wow!!! What a wonderful surprise to find a company that is professional, efficient, affordable and could work with my schedule. AJ was an amazing tech! He called before he arrived, listened well to my plumbing concerns and then got to work. He was very thoughtful about leaving a clean area when he was done and even gave me some plumbing pointers. I will certainly keep Afford- A-Rooter as my go to for future plumbing needs.

I'm not sure of the date. However, the service was great he gave me a discount because the clog was a wash cloth.

I called Trevor last night (11/25/14) around 7:30 PM simply to leave a message with him about our need for a small drain cleaning in our laundry room; Afford-A-Rooter is supposed to be a 24/7 company. I did not hear anything from him the next morning. I would think that at least a courtesy call saying he would get back to us, or doesn't want the job, or he is on vacation, or something, like I do not want your business. I would not recommend this company for any reason.

Great. Called them this morning (day after thanksgiving). Trevor gave me an appointment time just a couple hours later the same day. Justin called while on the way to let me know he was running a little bit late - I appreciated that. Problem was diagnosed and fixed in about an hour.

The Plumber did very good job and kept to hard work. He got finished that for 3 hours. That's very impressed to me.

He was great! He was able to come and complete the job in a timely fashion. He was very friendly, courteous, knowledge, and professional. He was able to work around my time schedule which was fantastic! He was very reasonable in his prices. I would recommend his company to all my friends.

James explained every step of what needed to be done including our options, was very professional and did a quick job. The work space was tight, and he was able to do a great job and explained the care we would need going forward. James was very professional and affable. We were very happy with the service and will use this company again and highly recommend it.

James was very professional and on time. As soon as he arrived, I showed him the problem and he immediately gave me an estimate and then got to work right away. He had all the parts ready and didn't waste any time. He was in and out in less than 45 minutes and did a great job from what I can tell. I will definitely be using this company again.

After my recent experience with Afford-a-Router, I am keeping these guys on speed-dial and will use them again in a heartbeat for any plumbing issues. We had a backup in our basement on Easter Sunday afternoon, but they still answered the phone and had a guy over our house within 4 hours. The first guy who arrived was extremely courteous and professional, and he not only did the job (and alleviated our fears about whether or not it was a sewage backup -- thankfully, it wasn't) and gave us some tips on how to help prevent backups from happening so quickly, but he also took special care to be as quiet as possible around the house because our two sons were in bed. Since this was the second backup in 8 months, he advised that we have our secondary lines scoped, which we had done later in the week. They didn't try to sell us on anything unnecessary and told us that the work their first plumber did would keep us in business for a while until we would probably need a regularly scheduled cleaning just to keep our pipes flowing.Through it all, Afford-a-Router kept us well-informed and were extremely reasonable on price, especially given the call on a Sunday and a holiday. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

They got a bit of a late start and weren't done until after dark. They did a good job of protecting the grass in the yard from the weight of the backhoe. When digging the hole the backhoe disrupted a sprinkler line which they assured me they would repair. When they finished, they put the yard back in good repair with the exception of the sprinkler line. I was told they needed a coupler and that it would be done the next day. As I feared, no one returned to fix it and I called them several days later to and quot;remind themand quot;. They assured me they would return to fix it, and I have yet to see them. I am going to have to pay someone else to repair the damage they created and assured me they would repair.

It went very well! James is an expert at what he does! I made my appointment with Trevor and James responded to figure out why the sewer on the 60 y/o HUD house I had bought was draining slow. First, he used his scope with camera and GPS to locate where an old repair at the cast iron pipe connection from the house with the ceramic pipe to the street. He gave me the option of having someone else dig up the connection which saved us $1500. He came back to check to make sure the hole was the proper dimensions then promptly did the work even during inclement (snowing) weather. New clean outs were installed for both directions and he was done. Two weeks later, things slowed down again so, James was back out to jet flush the drain. This was due to the previous repair drawing in dirt and debris. The drain and its owners are now happy!

this was our first time using a plumber here in CO and they did an excellent job. We were were totally freaked out about the loss of two toilets backing up into one shower (so gross). we figured it had to be somewhere along the main. called late yesterday and asked if they could come this morning at 9 and they could. AJ showed up and was prompt, professional and explained the prices, what he planned to do and what he thought the problem was. didn't mind my husband hovering and didn't mind me asking questions. He also didn't mind the expert supervision of our cats :). Toilets and shower now work perfectly and we're thrilled. He also gave us advice about what to do in the future to avoid the problem and what to look for in the future. Hope we never have another problem, but if we do, we wouldn't hesitate to call AJ and Afford-A-Rooter.

I called around 8:30 in the morning because a toilet had overflowed. We had been having issues off and on for some time with 2 toilets so I was worried it was something serious. They said they would be out between 12 and 1:00. Not only was A.J. on time, he was finished cleaning both drains by 12:45. He explained the problem clearly with no pressure for other services. He was friendly, courteous, and professional. I recommend them without reservation and will use them again if the need arises.
