Once again, Angie's List to the rescue. I have relied upon this service to pick many wonderful service providers for my home, and Afford-A Rooter is not exception. I chose this one because of the "service award" they have earned. They returned my call very promptly, scheduled help far more quickly than I had anticipated. AJ, the plumber, arrived on time and got right to work with his equipment, which, by the way, was a cleaner job than I have had before with other providers. The problem is solved! I am thrilled with Angie's List and will use this provider exclusively in the future. AJ was polite and skilled. Couldn't be more pleased!

Luis came out on a Saturday and opened up our main line drain. He did it quickly, professionally and for the amount quoted. I would highly recommend them and I would request Luis the next time also.

Scheduling was easy, friendly, and prompt. Jason came and fixed the guest bath toilet and then worked on the plumbing in the master bath remodel. He was clear and direct about what he found wrong. It was amazing even though I suspected it was not right. Jason fixed it all and will return to work with the sinks once the countertop is repaired. I really appreciate Jason's communication, clarity, professionalism, and skill. He inspired trust and I was very reassured about the work he did. I will definitely hire again.

I went very well. I have an appt set up, but needed them to come a couple days sooner and they were great, showed up, did the work efficiently and all drains running smoothly now.

There were traffic and accidents so he came after the scheduled appointment time by about 20 minutes. He kept having to leave to get more tools. At one point there was a young woman in his van just sitting there in my culdesac for at least half an hour while he worked. He let my glass front door slam shut each time he came in or out. At one point the handle fell off, which it often does, but he jammed it back together improperly so my husband and I had to pry that apart to be able to put it back on so that our door would close again. He left the parts that he cut out of the main line in our basement instead of taking them out with him when we actually had a dumpster in the driveway that he could have easily used. He didn't introduce himself or who he was with when he came up. My husband opened the door and said hi, this guy said hi, and then he asked to see where the back up was. He said that our main line inside our house needed to be replaced so we're getting a second opinion on that but the line is no longer backing up into the bathroom or the basement so he did do what he needed to for the call but I wish he had cleaned up after himself. He also parked improperly, sticking out from our driveway for the whole time he was here when he should have parked against the curb so as not to block any of my neighbors. No one had trouble getting in or out that I've been told but there was no reason for him to park like that when there was space available.

Took twice as long and cost three times as much as we had originally thought but the work appears to have been done well and not being a plumber I really had no logical basis for my estimates.

The entire experience was great! The technician who came out, AJ, tried to call me to confirm before my appointment, but my phone was not receiving calls that morning, so instead of canceling the appointment, AJ came to the house anyway and rang the doorbell, saving me the hassle of having to reschedule despite my phone acting up. After showing him the drain, he tested it to confirm the issue and then retrieved his tools and cleared the blockage in short order. While he was working, he was great about answering any questions I had regarding that specific drain, as well as some other plumbing issues that have been haunting my house. AJ did a great job, and I will definitely be calling Afford-A-Rooter in the future to take care of the other work that needs to be done at my house.

I called Afford-a-Rooter. Jason was here in about an hour and fixed the problem in short order. He was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He didn't mind me hanging over his shoulder and asking questions. The price was very reasonable and I even got a 10% discount from Angie's list. Yes, I would definitely call them for my next plumbing problem.

Great! They were busy so one of their execs came out. Did the job quickly, left it clean.

The work they did was good. The thing I liked the most was that they were about $1200 cheaper then the next competitor. They left some gravel in the yard when they were finished. It took about two days to complete the work.They snaked the line with a camera after they were done and it looked like they did a good job. I've recommended them to a couple of neighbors.

The toilets in one of our condominium rental units were backing up. We assumed that the line needed to be snaked. We calledAfford-A-Rooter and AJ came out to help us. After noting everything else was draining fine he realized it was the toilets themselves. Apparently, toilets build up a calcium deposit that can actually block flushing.. He told me what the problem was, and told me the best solution would be new toilets. It would have been as expensive to auger the crank toilets. He told me how much it would be if he were to do it, and, since I have replaced toilets in the past I told him I could do it myself. He agreed that would be the quickest and cheapest solution. He did not charge me anything for the service call. I appreciated his honesty and we will definitely use this company again.

The plumber responded quickly to schedule an appointment. He was thorough and satisfactorily completed the job.

Great! A J cleaned all the way to the main line because there was a possibility he was just moving the blockage further down the branch line.

AJ showed up right away and did a fantastic job and for a very reasonable price. A different outfit charged us more and didn't actually fix the problem, but we think AJ has got it fixed for real this time, he put a lot more effort into it. Coupon was accepted immediately, no issues.

This company clearly did not want our business. They never showed up for the repair we scheduled, and their only communication to us after the fact was to ask us for money for services never performed.
