Absolute Floor Care

Absolute Floor did a great job, price was great and the work was completed in a timely manner. Very courteous and professional.

After doing online research, I selected Absolute Floor Care because the company has an A rating from the Better Business Bureau and has an impressive website showing lots of before and after photos and videos that gave me an idea of what to expect. I was mostly interested in getting our grout cleaned and sealed, but since my husband and I work full-time, we figured it also made sense to take one morning off and get our carpets cleaned at the same time. From my initial call to Terry Callenius (Owner) to the handshake as he drove off when the job was complete, I was impressed with his professionalism and friendliness. He returned calls promptly, arrived on time, was very knowledgeable about his services, and worked hard the whole time. We walked the areas to be cleaned first and he took measurements to provide an estimate. The carpet cleaning portion was about $200 less than the company who cleaned my carpets last time, and the grout cleaning/sealing was about $300 more than I was expecting. However, Terry's estimate was very detailed, he walked through the calculations with me step-by-step, and I ultimately felt comfortable approving all of the work I'd initially planned for him to do. Plus, I didn't give him any square footage to work with up front when I first called him, so he didn't have much to go on when we first discussed price. Terry worked on the carpeted areas first. It was evident that he takes a lot of pride in his work, and told us to call him back if any of the stains that he believed he could get out came back (there were some areas stained by products I'd used in the past that Terry explained upfront might not come out). Then came the magic - cleaning the grout! I actually watched him work for a bit and was amazed to see years of dirt stripped away almost instantly. (Instead of dark gray, my grout is actually cream!). I was a little concerned that the job would be messy because the machine he uses sprays high pressure water, but the suction power was impressive and the floor was less damp than after a good mopping when he was done. Once he finished cleaning, he liberally applied sealant to the grout using a specialized roller. When I consider the HOURS I've spent in the past, cleaning the grout down on hands and knees with a scrub brush (i.e., wire tooth brush) and applying sealant with a small paint brush, the price was well worth it! We will definitely use Absolute Floor Care again. Tips: 1. If you want an accurate estimate upfront (over the phone), be prepared with the square footage of the areas to be cleaned. 2. Do not have your carpet and grout cleaned on the same day if you don't have anywhere to move your furniture (we ended up stacking our giant family room sectional Tetris-style in the corner, and moving a lot of furniture out to our garage). 3. Be prepared to stay off your tile floors for a couple of hours to give the sealant time to dry. 4. Per Terry, expect the sealant to last 1-2 years, depending on foot traffic, and how often and rigorously you clean your floors.
