Never able to set up an appointment. We did play phone tag, and I explained I was dealing with a difficult illness, thus was setting up close to the expiration date. They were willing to schedule out past the expiration date, I think, but showed a lack of responsiveness in setting up an appointment. Since I was sick, I just gave up on calling them after awhile. While I appreciated their willingness to let me schedule after the expiration since they were booked solid, the fact that they didn't pursue scheduling indicated to me that they were not in a hurry to add to their customer base. Or they were just really busy and lost track. Either way, not a great experience for me.

No service ever performed. Tried to talk to Angie's list person on the phone and got the run around.
Description of Work: We made several attempts to schedule this prepaid cleaning. This company kept promising they would get back to us and never did. father a year we realized we had thrown away our money and no longer trust Angie's list deals.

Poor service - or should I say NO SERVICE - I would not recommend Simply Clean
Description of Work: tried to schedule cleaning with this company on 3 separate occasions - twice she didn't show up - the third time she was scheduled to come - she called and said she had pneumonia and didn't know when she'd be able to come - that was the last straw and I contacted Angies List to get my money back from the Angies Big Deal.

Description of Work: I had a very difficult time trying to schedule an appt with business and could not get a return phone call. After several attempts I did get a call saying they had some difficulties in the business. Then Angie's List blocked access to the site saying the business was not in good standing with Angie's List [for unspecified reasons]. I then discontinued all attempts to do business with them and told them that until they were in good standing with Angie's List I would not want to use their services. In the meantime I found someone else to do the work.

When I tried to book the coupon, they told me that the crew that comes out to my location wasn’t working with them anymore, so I wasn’t able to utilize the deal. I got a refund.

Was not happy at all--she rushed through the job, was not friendly, did not clean well. She skipped entire rooms, did not move any throw rugs--even the little tiny ones (she mopped AROUND them!). I had to clean up after her when she left--house not cleaned well at all. It was a scattered surface job and certainly not worth what I paid. What a waste of money.

I tried to get hold of the company, was called back once. Never got a response to any other calls. It's been over a year and I gave up several months ago. I'm giving a D since they were punctual about the first call. Aside from that, I know from repeated attempts at the beginning of this year, I just decided to let it slide. It seemed from other raters, this was not unheard of with the service.P

Run away ..... Fast!
Description of Work: This was a big deal coupon. Two people were supposed to show up several times for a total of 6 hours of cleaning. One person showed up for one hour and left. The kitchen floor was swept and mopped and the bathroom cleaned.I tried several times to schedule appointments. I asked her to call me to fulfill her obligations even later on... still no response.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal in October of 2011 for four hours of housecleaning for $66 from Simply Clean; the coupon expires 21 April 2012. I started contacting Deena Bannigan at Simply Clean back in mid-March to schedule our house cleaning. I called three times, left detailed messages with my name and number every time, and never received a return phone call. I e-mailed the address on the coupon code, only to find that it was no longer a valid e-mail address. I looked up Simply Clean online and found a new e-mail address, which I wrote to, and never received a response that way, either. Today (10 April) I finally called Angie's List for a refund of my money, which they provided with no questions. This is a serious lack of professionalism, and I absolutely would not recommend this company.

They scheduled two appointments, and did not show up for either of them. They did not call to cancel the appointments. We had to call them at the end of the day, and we got nothing but excuses. Do not buy their Big Deal and do not use this company.

I bought a house cleaning service for my daughter in Denver, Co. It was supposed to be 2 hrs of cleaning done by 2 people. It cost $66 . They were supposed to come 11/2/11 and canceled because it snowed and she does not drive in snow. When she spoke to the owner, she rescheduled for the next Wed, 11/9. My daughter got a babysitter and cleared her schedule. They did not come or call. My daughter called the owner once again. The owner told her it was for 11/16 and then remembered their previous conversation. She was told that extra time would be given. She does not need more time, just the job done on time. I am unhappy that I have already paid for this service. I want to know how to get my money back.
Description of Work: There have not been any services yet and I am embarrassed because this was an early Christmas gift that I gave my daughter.

Everything he said is true. I am human and made a mistake and would honor the voucher at anytime. My company went through some growing pains and we now have new software, a training program for subcontractors that represent us. This was my mistake not an employee and would to rectify and provide a deep clean for the member

We have a rental home that needed a move out clean. When I met Deena at the house at 8:30am, I asked that she clean the 4 bathrooms first and then work on the kitchen cabinets and refrigerator. She mentioned also cleaning the dishwasher inside. Great! I told her I was going to set the self clean on the oven and she wouldn't have to worry about the oven at all. She unloaded her stuff and went to work cleaning upstairs. I told her I would be back at 12. Since she started at 8:30 AM, I expected she would be cleaning until 12:30. I returned at 11:45 and she was gone! I did not recieve 4 hours of cleaning. The ad says 2 people will do the clean, but there was only one and who knows when she left. The bathrooms looked better, but there was still hair in the master bath's shower drain. There was a can of oust on the floor in another. It appeared that the refrigerator had been cleaned inside, but there was still gunk on the outside. I could tell where she 'swiped' her cleaning cloth in various places, but it wasn't clean. No cleaning out of the cabinets, dishwasher or floors. I was so dissapointed. I had a tip in my pocket for her when I returned, because I thought she would do a great job! I called her to make sure she was ok in case something had happened. I got voice mail and left a message. She did not return my call. I understand that companies do deals to get new customers, but I wonder if she felt we were just taking advantage of her time somehow, since it was a rental. I am looking for a great clening team to call on every time I need help with a move out as well as my own house. It is a working test in my mind. We had that house painted this summer and they got to paint TWO other properties for us because they did such a great job! We won't be calling or recommending Simply Clean to anyone. We WILL continue to utilize Angie's List though, as we have had another deal be GREAT!

I did a complete deep clean move out that is usually $199-249 for $66? I honored the voucher and that house was spotless. I cleaned cabinets and the refrigerator inside and out. The reason I left was for 2 reasons. 1. I was done and 2. when I pulled the frig back to clean the floor behind the frig there were 3 dead rat carcusus. I am throughly disappointed in this review as I was there for 3 hours 45 minutes.

They did an excellent, thorough job of cleaning and were very speedy. They didn't do a couple of things that I thought they would, but that may well be an incomplete job of communicating on my part. They were very pleasant to work with and very professional.

She did a wonderful job. We got along very well. I'm going on a monthly basis with her. She also can clean my windows inside and out, which is very helpful. It was a great experience overall. She was just very personable, I liked her.
Description of Work: She did two hours of housecleaning. I have wood floors, she cleaned them as well as baseboards. She cleaned the kitchen, cabinets, dusted windowsills. She also cleaned the bathrooms and bedroom.

It went about as poorly as it could, since no one ever actually came to my house to clean!
Description of Work: Without a doubt, this is the WORST experience I have EVER had with any company! In March, 2011, I bought a Living Social voucher for 4 hours of housecleaning from Simply Clean. On June 13, I called to make an appt., got their voice mail, and left a message. The next day "Anthony" called back when I was out and left a message that he would call back later in the day - but no call. On June 15, I called and left another message - no return call. On June 16, I called and left another message my - no return call. (In each message I had given my name and telephone number.) That evening, June 16th, I called Living Social and they called the Simply Clean telephone number, got voice mail, and left a message asking Anthony to email me. He emailed the next day, saying he had called me each day and perhaps there was something wrong with my voice mail. I returned his email within 30 minutes, saying I had checked both my caller ID and answering machine and that there had been no call from him since the morning of 6/14 - perhaps he was dialing the wrong number . . . . More importantly, I still had no appt. for my house to be cleaned. The next day he emailed me back and said he HAD been dialing the wrong number and that he would call me that evening. He didn't call until the next day, and we set an appt. for my house to be cleaned on Thursday, June 30, at 12 noon. However, he called the morning of the 30th to say that the cleaning lady was running about 2-21/2 hours late, and asked if she could she come between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Unfortunately I had another appt. at 5 p.m. and had to leave home by 4:30. Since he was obviously sending only one employee, that would not leave enough time for her to do the 4 hours worth of work I was expecting. At that point, I asked to reschedule, and so we did - for 9 a.m. on Friday, July 8. At that point he joked that if something came up, "I will come and clean your house myself." When the cleaning person had not arrived by 9:15 a.m. on July 8, I called Anthony. He said he did not know why she wasn't there, so he called her and called me back, saying "Susan" had had car trouble and wouldn't be able to get to my house (wouldn't it have been reasonable to expect her to call him so that he could have let me know??) After much discussion, I reluctantly made another appt. - for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11. I imagine you can guess the rest of this story; again, the cleaning person did not show up - no calls, no notification. (Oh, and by the way, each time I had a cleaning appt., I had made an appt. the next day to have my carpets shampooed, so rescheduling had to be done not only for housecleaning but for the carpet cleaners, too. They are probably not very happy with me . . . . ) On July 11, I called Living Social and went through this unbelievably frustrating month-long situation I had encountered with Simply Clean - LS, of course, volunteered to refund my money and to turn my information over to their board to review my complaints. I also called "Anthony" many times throughout the day and finally got him around 6 p.m. When I told him that "Susan" had not shown up, he said he did not know that and asked what I wanted him to do. With remarkable restraint, I did not answer that question, but I did tell him I had called Living Social and reported the situation and that I was going to do a review on Angie's List, the BBB, and anywhere else I could to make certain everyone would know how unprofessional and unethical his company is . . . whereupon he hung up on me! Soooo - unless you enjoy wasting time and money on a company that has no interest in doing its job or providing even the smallest scintilla of customer service, then DON'T EVER THINK OF USING SIMPLY CLEAN! (Note: Judging by the other reviews I've read on yelp.com, perhaps I'm the lucky one; it sounds like that even if someone from Simply Clean does get to your house, you've wasted your money because they do such a poor job!)

There are several things not mentioned in this report.. - We attempted to call her multiple times and she did get our voicemails, she told me she got them. - She was hostile from the first moment we spoke with her. - We had had a few employees leave the company and asked if we could come a few hours late to her first appointment because of that - me and my wife have been trying to pick up the slack and have been cleaning 4-5 houses a day ourselves, and we were running behind that day. - Her next appointment, since she didn't want it done the original day, had two of our employees going there in a personal vehicle. She had an issue on the highway and her car broke down, I believe was an overheating issue. We had absolutely no way of getting someone else out to her so we rescheduled her. -The same employee that broke down on the highway was supposed to clean her house on Monday. I didn't get any phone calls from this employee, and I believed in good faith that her home was cleaned. Me and my wife had been out all day cleaning houses ourselves (total of 5 houses). -When I returned in the evening around 5:45 or so I got a call from her. She said no one had come to her home and I was astounded, I said I didn't know that as I had never gotten a call from the person that was supposed to clean her place. -The member was understandably upset and I asked her multiple times what I could do for her, she was not interested in attempting to resolve the situation. I had tried, in good faith, to ask her what I could do to take care of her. I was willing, despite cleaning for the last 9 hours, to go do her home. -The member then began cursing at me and said "I'm going to come over there and slap the sh*t out of you!" -I had tried to resolve the situation but when she started cursing at me that was enough. I will always work with a person to make something right that was wrong, but like most reasonable people I won't be yelled at, cursed at and threatened, especially when I had tried to resolve her situation. -It's worth mentioning that I hadn't spoke to the person supposed to clean her home. I had tried to call her every day the whole week and couldn't get a hold of her. I was genuinely worried that she was hurt or something bad had happened. She finally contacted me this weekend. She told me that she had wanted to quit and couldn't come up with the nerve to tell me, so she just didn't go to work or call in. I asked her why she did this to me and that it had caused severe problems. Her response was that she was developing bad back pains and couldn't continue working and was afraid that I would be angry. I had absolutely no idea that this person would behave in this manner as I've never had anyone do this to me before (except when I ran retail stores years ago). She had always been very reliable and a hard worker. I had asked the member multiple times how I could help her and she responded by yelling, cursing and threatening me. In good faith I had no idea what had happened and tried my best to resolve the situation. I understand that she's angry, I would have been too. But the difference between us is I would have been calmer and not yelled/cursed/threatened. I've ran businesses for a long time, for many companies. I was raised in a self-employed family. I've been a district manager for a nationwide retail company. I've owned a successful restaurant, and now a successful cleaning business. I was raised with, and believe in, honesty and integrity. Because of these things I would have been far more calmer and taken the time to figure out what had happened, because not showing up is something that will put a business in the poor house quick, and it's not normal. We would not be successful, doing 10-20 jobs a day - every day, with many, many continuous customers and many many people that love our work, if this was normal practice. This was the first time this has happened to me in this company, and I'm sincerely sorry to this member that this happened to her. I still am willing to clean her house, for free. If anyone doubts our integrity due to this review please call me and I'll be happy to give you customer references that have allowed us to give out their phone numbers. Again, I'm very sorry to this member. Despite her review of us, and her cursing and threatening over the phone, I am still willing to have her house cleaned for free. I'm 100% willing to make any wrong into a right. I do hope she takes us up on it. Thanks for reading.

Simply Clean was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. They are very reasonable and work hard. I had a great experience with them. My vacuum cleaner is not good so she picked up the lint by hand on my stairs. I have never had cleaner floors before!
Description of Work: Simply Clean cleaned the house we just moved into. They cleaned everything except for the windows. SHe cleaned the floor, the cabinets, the window sill, the bathroom tiles, the top of my appliances, and a bunch of other stuff.
