PRECISION APPLIANCE SERVICE

I'm especially writing this review to thank him for answering questions I had on more than one appliance before he came out to fix the DW. He only came out once (for the DW) but spared me a service call several times by asking questions on the phone and helping me solve the issues myself. I highly recommend Gary and Precision Appliance Service.

I found out that this business is listed under Precision Appliance Service and the owner's name is Randee Priest, but it is not anymore. The business was sold and the business is different and the owner is different. Now it is Appliance Man of Colorado under totally different owner. However, they have kept the same phone number and the phone number is being forwarded to the new phone number. I am not sure if this done to mislead customers on purpose or they are just getting a free ride, but they need to be honest.

Their price was fair. They were prompt, came in within a day. They had to order parts. They came in on Friday and ordered parts and came back on Monday. The only problem I had was their communication as they never answered the phone and was always on voice mail. I had to call many times for appointment again for parts but the service itself was great. The communication was not that great but I definitely use them again. I would recommend them. I think I could have got a cheaper price but for the service I got it was fine.

My dryer suddenly would not produce any heat any more. It would still spin the clothes and force air over them, but without any heat it took ages to dry a load. I called Precision, and they sent someone out the same day to service the machine. The man was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He found out exactly what the problems were and fixed them both in a matter of a couple of hours. The service was a little expensive, but very much worth it. Highly recommended.

Fearing the worst in a 11-year-old dishwasher, we once again called Precision early in the morning. Randee arrived as scheduled, found an overflow device at fault and had the spare part in his truck ($12). This is our fourth experience in a year with Precision and Randee. In June when that same dishwasher' door wouldn't close he found that the granite installers failed to screw it in place ($60). In September 2009 he replaced a defective oven (Whirlpool) control ($365) and a defective refrigerator (Maytag) control ($197). In every case, he was prompt, professional and on target with his diagnosis and repair.

I called Randi to come out to take a look at the washer. He arrived one time, diagnosed the problem as a blown control board and recommended a solution. The replacement of the control board ended up being more than the cost of a new washer, so I did not have the repairs done.

I thought they were a good company to do business with, until I tried to get them to come repair it again for the same problem. Their guarantee and getting them to return has been a problem. I can see it taking a few extra days to get the part, but over 2 weeks is not acceptable. Also, if they would have given me a call to explain why it is taking so long, I would have appreciated that. I personally do not think they even ordered the part, and they figure they are done with me and my problem.

The person that came to the house was good, they gave a good estimate, as replacement value on my model is over $600. Service call was waved since work was completed.
