Michael was a nice guy. But for what was done, it was very expensive. Michael did a quick water only pressure wash, then applied the sealant. Had I waited, I had received an offer that was $1000.00 less than what I paid American Wood Care, and the preparation steps from the other company were much more involved. The Boodge product used on my back deck does recommend a simple pressure wash as preparation, before application, so hopefully that finish was done correctly and will hold up. On my front porch where I desired a different color than what was used on the back deck, I was told by Michael that he did not have access to the Boodge product for that color, so he purchased at Home Depot and applied an Olympic product that requires a more thorough cleaning with the Olympic deck bright product, that was not done. The result on the front porch is a very inconsistent look to the finish, and I am expecting that the finish will not last because it did not absorb properly due to lack of proper preparation. The front deck will need to be redone, which I offered to American Wood Care that they could do, or to refund that portion of the job so I can have it done with someone else, and I have not heard anything back from American Wood Care.

The owner is very knowledgeable and skilled. He has several side businesses like roofing and can advise or refer if needed.

Michael was great! He definitely knows his stuff and answered any question asked. The quality and effectiveness of his work is amazing. Our deck looks beautiful and it was worth the money. I would definitely recommend him.

Did a great job and got it finished before bad weather

The project was to clean and stain our deck, and we asked him to put stain on a small patio as well. Also, I asked if he could complete it on short notice. Mike worked it into his schedule, and in the end, the deck looks great. The patio is not Mike's specialty, and it turned out okay. In the end, we plan to hire Mike to clean our fence later this fall. When it comes to wood, Mike does a great job, and I would recommend him. Regarding the value, I'm not an expert in this space, but the cost seemed a little high for what we received.

Mike did a great job. My project had to be put off several times because of the spring weather but he always made sure to contact me and let me know. Once the weather cleared and he had a nice day to put the sealant on, he was out here doing the job and got it done in now time. He was very careful with my landscaping and I really like the results.

Be sure there is good communication. First Michael's results weren't good as he didn't know what we expected. He came back and redid the deck to our satisfaction. The finished product was something we would ostensibly been able to do ourselves so I felt the cost of the deck rather high.)$850. Fence only took a few hours to power wash and the same to spray on the product.($1850. All in all, Michael tried to please us and he eventually succeeded. Personally, we liked him a lot and we would hire him again if the need arises.
