Kristin did not return calls which should have been my first clue. She came to the house after I persisted and gave me an estimate but after that when she came to work, there was always an excuse for why she could not do it. First it was her volunteer work, then I had not prepared the proper backing (2X). When she finally approved my foundation work, she told me she was booked out two weeks and then on a two week cruise. I played tag with this women for two and a half months. She may be great but I will never know. I finally read up at DIY and did the tile work myself. What a waste of time.
Description of Work: Gave estimate for tile surround on my new fireplace. It was a small job but I kept telling her not to promise me if she did not want the work. Work was never completed.

We received Brian's name as a referral from a woman that had never used his services, so it was a risk. He responded promptly (with in 24 hrs.), he came by for an evaluation in 2 days and we worked through the project with him in a total of 3 days. This is a very rare occurrence in the construction business and a dream come true for us. We didn't need to use as many of his services as he offers so our project time together was shorter. From the discussions we had, we know that we could trust Brian to choose the highest quality & most durable materials as well as doing an excellent job.
Description of Work: Brian evaluated our shower situation (the walls and entry bridge structure) after removing the tiles we wanted to change. He then made repairs and corrections as needed, he came up with our layout design and installed the tiles beautifully. In addition to his excellent job he was a delight to work with. We appreciate his character and work ethic. He's highly recommended.

From start to finish, my "tile story" was a rousing success. After a month of entertaining various scary estimates from foundation outfits (and negatives from my insurance company), Brian Whitehead saved the day. He is the most meticulous workman--fast, clean, and deeply intelligent about his materials--tile, grout, caulking, etc. His rates are eminently reasonable. He also specializes in kitchens, bathrooms, and wine cellars. I'm going to have him do some brickwork for me next week. In short, Brian Whitehead is a 5-star workman.
Description of Work: Brian Whitehead is an expert TILE craftsman. He deftly removed three huge Italian designer tiles from my dining room floor to reveal the cracked concrete underneath. The tiles were popping up and breaking through the grout. He proved that we did not need the kind of expensive structural or mudjacking job an earlier estimate gave us. He shimmed and repaired the concrete, replaced the tiles, cut down some new matching tiles to size, and installed them in place with great precision.
