Can NOT recommend under any circumstances. Terrible communication. Work is amateur (worse) at best. Does the absolute minimum work required per visit. Payment demands are unreasonable. Owner is unprofessional. Believe every bad review.

I used Quality Pools to service my pool and pond in Boulder for about a year. During that short period Debbie, the owner who does her own billing, double charged me for a pool pump, overcharged me for the amount of hours her men were on-site, and made SEVERAL major accounting errors which made life very complicated. In addition, many of her invoices came in to me 6 months AFTER services were done and then she DEMANDED immediate payment (that day). When I told her I would not pay immediately because, yet again, there was another accounting inconsistency on the invoice and I told her I wanted to look over the records, her response was that she would put a LIEN on my house (which is for sale) if she didn't receive payment IN FULL (mistakes and all) by the following week. Anyone who chooses to do business with Quality Pools need to keep a meticulous eye on what they are being billed for, whether the numbers add up, and whether time billed is actually the amount of time worked!!!! Plus, don't be surprised when you go to do your year end accounting and most of your bills from Quality Pools have not even been sent out 6 months or more later! I have had 4 pools at 4 different homes and I have never encountered such profound lack of professionalism in my life!

Was concerned with the negative reviews online, but had to use them with our warranty seemed to be a company that tries hard but obviously not very organized. After the repair was told by repairman that some things not working in tub when he finished. The tub had just been inspected as part of a new home purchase so we knew everything was working before the repair was done but we could not check it till after they left. Called immediately after he left but they could not return to check. Owner was polite but also adamant that they could not have impacted with the work they performed and we could not prove that the tub worked before hand, asked for video proof that it was working. If you decide to use them you may want to record all functions of your tub before they come to work on it. I told her that it worked till they did the repairs, but understood that we could not prove they did the damage although it was highly probable, she did reluctantly agree to return to look at after multiple calls. Finally came back weeks latter with no appointment or call before, just saw the repairman in our back yard one day. Luckly our dogs were in the house. He did not even go to the front door. He discovered they had disconnected wires and not hooked them back up, 1 minute fix and magically everything worked again. Then owner called that day and asked us to pay for the trip charge since we still could not prove they had disconnected the wires, was extremely rude and unprofessional on the call. Owner agreed they committed ahead of time to return as a warranty repair but then changed her mind after the work was completed. Completely irrational on the phone, would not let me talk and would interrupt every time I tried to she even went as far as threatening me. I don't like providing negative reviews but the owner was so unprofessional I would not want anyone else to work with them without understanding how they can treat customers. I would have considered paying something even though it was completely their fault if she had not been so rude and immature to me. Maybe she was just having a really bad day but you can not run a business like that.

Where to start.... Quality Pools & Spas met with me at my house on 9/11/12. The technician was over an hour late for the appointment. This was indicative of the next 2+ months of "service". I provided initial troubleshooting information, and the tech returned on 9/14/12 to raise the hot tub and repair the leak. The hot tub was raised on 9/14/12, and a manifold was ordered. First issue: They claim to repair spas, but they don't stock a very common 1-into-4 PVC manifold that is a $14 part? Seriously? The manifold arrived on 9/17/12, with a promised installation of 9/18/12, but the tech no-showed. New promise date of 9/20/12. Tech no-showed on 9/20/12, but came with the part on 9/23/12. He couldn't install the manifold because he needed some 3/4" to 1/2" PVC adapters, so he quit for the day. Note: These adapters can be bought at Home Depot, only 10 minutes from here for less than 30 cents per piece. Note again: They claim to repair spas but do not stock 30 CENT parts? Seriously? Tech returns on 9/23/12 but decides he can't make repair without turning spa on its side. Fair enough. That's what I would have done first. Quality needs at least 4 men to turn the spa, so this is postponed until they can marshall 4 people. Spa is turned on its side on 9/26/12. I get home and my patio furniture cushions are under the spa, soaked in water, to provide padding. I call Quality Pools & Spas to complain. I'm told by Debbie that they needed something to prevent scratching the edge of the spa so they used my patio furniture cushions. I ask her if they happen to own a moving blanket or two for this purpose. I'm informed that they do not, and if they would have had to buy a blanket, I would have had to pay for the blanket, the labor to drive and buy the blanket, and the mileage. Note: This company doesn't own the most rudimentary support assets needed to repair a spa. The spa is on its side for the next month while we wait for Quality Pools & Spas to acquire about 8 inches of common, flexible PVC tubing and install it to connect the manifold. Note again: This company claims to repair spas but doesn't stock the most ubiquitous tubing used in every spa? Seriously? They claim to have spent a day looking for it. The distributor for it is on north Federal. Certainly not hard to find, especially if you are supposed to be in the business. I'm not and I found it. There are multiple no-shows, but finally the manifold is installed. I meet the tech and point out that a 1/8" hole in that manifold couldn't have possibly leaked 6" of water per day. He agrees and decides to replace a suction fitting in the tub upon my suggestion, which is what I originally suggested. The common suction fitting has to be ordered (big surprise). We wait a couple of days while they get it from the distributor (on north Federal, note that it takes about 10 minutes to get from my house to north Federal). It is installed. Then we wait multiple days for Debbie to get 4 people together to set the spa on blocks to wet test it. That finally happens and guess what? It still leaks! I inspected the repairs and noted the tubing was covered in a spray-on epoxy goop to attempt to seal poorly done plumbing repairs. I took photos which I would be happy to share. Those leaks are fixed for free, and other leaks are found. They are repaired. FInally, on 11/20/12, over 2 MONTHS after the first meeting, the spa is put back in place and filled. On the positive side, it has been almost a month and the spa is not leaking. But, my confidence in the repairs is not high. In summary, I would never, ever in my life, EVER hire Quality Pools & Spas to work on anything again. Not even a leaking cup of warm water. There are more details to this horror story, and if you'd like to hear them you may call me at 303-five,four, seven-480six and I'll tell you more. If I don't answer, please leave a message. I will return your call. Or, you can just keep looking for a different spa repair company.

I talked with Debbie on the phone, who was very helpful. I got an appointment set up for the next day. She was very clear about their charges -- there is a minimum $90 charge which includes the first 30 minutes of on-site labor, and any time & mileage spent driving to/from a store to get parts. After that it was an additional $37.50 per half-hour of labor. Rob (the technician) arrived on time, diagnosed the leak, and made a trip to the store to get a part. He used up the 30 minutes in the initial $90, and then spent another 30 minutes to fully fix the leak. Rob explained everything he did, and even offered some advice on some non-functional jets in our hot tub, and suggested some other things to keep an eye on.
Description of Work: Our older outdoor hot tub had a slow-drip leak from a pipe in the equipment bay.

They gave us a reasonable price and we have used them several times in the past to service our swimming pool. They have always shown up on time and they also finish the work when they say that they will.

BOBBY TOWNEY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB. HE WAS VERY CONSERVATIVE IN WORKING SLOWLY AND MOST ECONOMICALLY. HE GAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION. HE WAS VERY CLEAR ABOUT THE RISK THAT IT MIGHT NOT WORK OR HE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND HE DID NOT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT CHECKING WITH ME FIRST.
Description of Work: THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD TO COMPLETELY REPLUMB THE SPA AND DETERMINE OTHER PROBLEMS. THE SPA WAS HOMEMADE AND VERY MUCH A MENAGERIE OF EQUIPMENT.
