PIONEER SAND & GRAVEL CO

The person that I talked to on the phone, when I ordered the materials, was very good. They were out of the stone that I wanted at the Golden office, so she told me that she'd check other locations, and and quot;get back to me within 1/2 hourand quot;. She got back to me in a couple minutes. She had located the stone, and we set the whole thing up over the phone. Very easy - nicely done. She gave me a delivery time of between 10-12 am on Sat (Two days later) On Friday at 1:30 pm I got a call from their dispatcher asking is I was ready for my stone. I didn't bother to mention that we had agreed on a Sat delivery. I'll take a day early. I'm flexible. Then the dispatcher called back in about 20 minutes, and having realized his/somebody's mistake, said 'oh wait you have a Sat delivery scheduled'. So we went back to the original plan. Sat. the dispatcher called at 10:30 and asked if I was ready for my stone. Yep, I sure was. I asked what time to expect the truck. Oddly the dispatcher wouldn't give me a time. He just said that I was next after the truck came back. The truck arrived at 12:30. I was pretty steamed by that point. I had two workers burning money waiting for the truck, doing makework. I know what you'll say - they only missed the window by 30 minutes. True enough. It really only cost me an extra $30. If that really is not a big deal then I guess Pioneer should cover that $30. Do you think that they will? The worst part was that my neighbor, who had gone and gotten his own load of stone a couple weeks earlier, was hanging with me, just rubbing it in that Pioneer was late, and that he told me so.

Pioneer was very helpful. We were able to follow a site map to drive to the appropriate pile. The front-loader driver helped us choose the right soil for the job then loaded our truck.

Personnel are courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Their yards are well organized and always have well stocked supplies. Their loading equipment and driver are always available if needed.
