This company is aweful. They were recommended to me by Home Depot, to install a hot water heater. I paid $3600+, including extra money to move the hot water heater a few feet away from its original location. The gas line, water lines and other water line were all not properly installed. The heater would not even pass the city inspection for THREE reasons, and the install was deemed a safety hazard. Then, I had to repeatedly chase this company to get the come out and look at the problems, which they drug their feet on. When they finally came out, they wanted more money to fix what I originally paid for. A bad company. Before using this company, I recommend looking up all the other bad reviews, here on this website and elsewhere. I made a mistake by not better researching them.

Service was within window and courteous. Installed 6 yr warranty Reem 50 gallon gas hot water heater and removed old unit. Extra repairs performed were each suggested, $100 for expansion tank replacement, $100 for new venting and $60 to install a new shut off ball valve. Work was clean and new drip pan was laid down.
Description of Work: Remove failed hot water heater and installed new 50 gallon gas hot water heater. Upgraded venting and repaired broken water shut off valve at unit.

The sales associates were pushy and did not include additional fees. We had to install a drain, pan, and a switch for the unit, all of which was in addition to the quoted price. I did ask the sales associate if there would be additional fees for the above, and he said no. This conflicted with the installer. All told, we paid an additional $300 for installation. Personally, I would spend the extra $150 and go with someone not associated with Home Depot.

It went well but was significantly over charged.
Description of Work: Contracted thru Home Depot to install toilet. When plumber removed old toilet he said we needed new mounting flange. The plumber said this was not part of job and it would cost another $120 to do. I knew that this was not reasonable, but since I was under a horrible time constraint I told him to proceed and I would take this issue up with Home Depot who I had contracted to do the job. It took plumber 20 minutes to install flange ( 10 minutes to do work, 10 minutes to get flange from his truck). I talked to one of Delta's reps and she said that it is their policy to treat all individual repairs as stand alone jobs. that way they can charge for each repair as if it was a separate trip. They cannot be hired by time plus material. The total time for the toilet install was 65 minutes for which they charged $244 (labor + $15 material)

They were very difficult to contact--something with their phone. Once I got through, they did a decent job of getting someone out to the house to look at the water heater. They said it was fine and recommended installing a valve to regulate the water pressure coming into the house. So, we did that (and I had the carpet dried and cleaned). Two weeks later, there was another leak. I left a message for the supervisor (after scheduling another appointment) and he never called me back (probably because I told him I wanted him to reimburse me for the carpet cleaning). The guy who came to look at the water heater said it was fine but another valve needed to be replaced because, when you change the water pressure, sometimes the other valves need to be replaced as well. I was irritated because I thought they should have foreseen that and replaced them at the same time--in which case I would not have had to have replaced the carpet (after the second leak). I've tried calling them to follow up and, again, can't get through. I would not call this company again. the only reason I did was because they did the initial install and it was under warranty.
Description of Work: inspected the hot water heater that was installed 3 years ago (my renter called them per Home Depot's recommendation--i was out of town). They said the problem was not the hot water heater; but the water pressure coming into the house. So, the installed a valve to regulate the pressure.

Description of Work: Absolutely nothing! Home Depot uses them for sink installs. The gentleman came in, removed our old sink and said the hole wasn't big enough to install the new sink so he left. It was impossible to get them to call us back to finish. It is Fathers Day weekend and we have no sink in the kitchen. They are impossible to get on the phone and they never call you back.

They are the "preferred installer" for Home Depot hot water heaters, so HD connects you to them when you buy a hot water heater. they promise "Same Day Installation" if you purchase before noon. I purchased at 8:00am. They booked me for 3-5pm, and then missed that installation time AND the follow up installation time the next day, not calling either time. I waited and waited and got NO SERVICE from this company. I had to wait 34 minutes on the phone (the first time and 16 the second time, to find out what on earth had happened. while on hold, you get to listen over and over to a spiel telling how they provide fast same-day installation.

They stood me up on 2 appointments no call no show, When the guy did come he said the part I had purchased for the sink base was too big and he installed the old sink base. when I returned the part to the store they told me the part I had purchased was a standard size. The worst part was the installation leaked causing damage to the basement ceiling, when I called to get them back out to fix the problem they hung up on me, when I finally got through to a manager they gave me an appointment for the following day the guy was so late I had to cancel the appointment. They finally came the following day and fixed the leak and reinstalled the part they told me was too big. I would never use this company again! Beware they are contracted through Home Depot for kitchen counter tops.

Failed city inspection twice. We had to get building inspector supervisor involved at which point delta mechanical would just hang up on him. Job was never completed and had to bring in another company to finish the job and to pass inspection.

1. Went through Home Depot to get recommendation on who could do install (at the gas companies list was out of date). I had called a few places directly and they did not do gas line installs. Made a bunch of phone calls to Delta until I finally got through to someone who could talk intelligently about what I needed and scheduled them to come out. Their office/phone service was awful! 2. Guy was supposed to show up between 10-12:00 on 9/6/13 - never showed up and never called. I finally called home office and they told me his car broke down. I asked why they never called...no good answer. Rescheduled for 9/9/13 - I normally would have blown them off but had figured out not many people do this anymore. 3. Guy did show up on Monday during window of time scheduled. After looking at it, he said he didn't have the right parts, so he went to other appointment and came back later. During install he had to go to Home Depot a second time. 4. Price quoted was more than the upper part of the cost range they had told me on the phone - but at this point I just wanted it done. 4. Ultimately, he did a good job on the install, but the peripheral stuff was less that stellar!

Very professional.
Description of Work: Contacted The Home Depot for a new hot water heater using the internet. Referred to Delta911.com. Plummer arrived on time, came in, checked the work area, laid out carpet protection drop cloths, brought the new unit downstairs without assistance. Drained & removed the old unit. Installed the new unit, making all connections, lit the pilot light, confirmed operation, cleaned up, had us confirm installation, and left.

We also went through Home Depot in hopes of getting a new furnace and water heater. The guy that came to our house said he would show us his brochures with different units and pricing after looking at the furnace. So he went into our crawlspace to look at the furnace, but did nothing more. He didn't investigate anything on the furnace to determine if it was functioning properly, he couldn't elaborate on the improvements needed to be up to code, and couldn't give us any specifics on what type of furnace we could replace ours with. The only information he was able to give was that the 2013 code states new furnaces must be at 95% efficiency, and would take effect sometime this year, he thought. He then took us out to the patio to show us where a potential AC unit could be placed. At this point we would have begun looking at prices, but he abruptly left and said he would call the following day around 4:00 pm. With the furnace in the crawlspace we understood this would be a custom order, but we weren't given the opportunity to ask further questions. Needless to say we did not hear from him the following night, or the week thereafter. Aside from the lack of knowledge, the guy talked to us like his drinking buddies and not his customers. Although we were all probably in the same age range, the cussing and talking about how poorly the company is doing was far from professional. He did not arrive with an invoice or paperwork which was also a bit odd. A couple days later we went back to Home Depot in hopes of finding another company. They called Delta again and assured us we would get a call that afternoon. Again we heard nothing. It wasn't until a second day had passed and we got the call from them 10 minutes after the guy at Home Depot called us. Since then we have picked another company (not through Home Depot) who thoroughly examined everything and explained what was needed to be up to code. They explained pricing and the work entailed dealing with a crawlspace, and they were extremely efficient, professional, and prompt the entire time. We would never recommend this company and would seriously reconsider ever going to Home Depot for their contractors again.

Not great. Would definitely *not* recommend to anyone who values good service, their floors and possibly, their lives.
Description of Work: This job was subcontracted through Home Depot and, so far, Home Depot subcontractors have not been so great. Delta was definitely not great. First, they didn't turn off the main gas, just the water heater gas valve, and the whole basement was flooded with gas.... while I was working. So, I was sick from gas fumes for about two days and worried that my house was going to blow up... although they said it was fine. Then, they started lighting blow torches about two hours after the gas issue. I was sure I would be a toasty marshmellow. After it was installed, my ac/furnace stopped working and I had to get another guy to come out and realize that the Delta guys pinch a cable in the side of our furnace door while they were installing bigger vent ducts and blew the ac fuse. That was eventually paid for by Delta. They also scuffed up my vinyl floors with black marks that won't come off. As with the previous report, I got a big mess and no reciept. I later got a letter for my building permit, but I have yet to see an actual reciept... other that on my Home Depot bill.
