Mission accomplished. No complaints.
Description of Work: Dan Latimer installed two new shower/tub faucets to replace original equipment (1969). A lot longer than he or we expected because of the old fittings. Did a very good job and clean-up thereafter. We have used Bernie's before and would do so again.

Bernie's could not perform the work directly, but referred me to Hat Rock excavating. Hat Rock was very responsive and had excellent suggestions for the most affordable way to fix this issue. Problem section was removed and repaired in half a day, and a new clean out was added making future maintenance much easier.

I thought they were very good. The man that came out to check everything was very good and knew what he was doing. He ended up leading the project in my home. They did a very professional job. So far we havent tried it with the heating system but our hot water is working fine.

Experience with Bernie's Plumbing was excellent.
Description of Work: I had a plugged kitchen sink drain. I called Bernie's Plumbing, and Mark came right over. We assessed the situation, we discussed options, and he recommended a course of action - which did not involve his services. He spent probably a half hour with me and did not charge for his time. Highly professional, reasonable, knowledgeable, I will definitely call them again.

Description of Work: I was sold at a premium an allegedly remodeled home in Boulder that in fact had a defunct explosive heating system in an illegal closet that could not contain a normal replacement system. I received a number of estimates from various companies including Bernie's. One of the companies had actually submitted a report of correction on the home inspection which had noted a minor problem with the heating system. That company did this having told the sellers three years previously that the system was defunct. Thus they knowingly indicated to me as a buyer that the dead system was working and "corrected." That company wanted in excess of fifteen thousand for a new system. Bernie's staffer came promptly and told me honestly how I would have to reconstruct the interior of the home to have a regular heating system. They gave me a bid of ten thousand, which I think reflected careful planning to minimize my losses. Their plan would have involved internal reconstruction of the home or delicate non tank systems which they told me frankly were difficult and costly to maintain. The reason I did not accept Bernie's offer was because another company offered, at almost the same price, an innovative design that allowed me to build a new heating room in the garage without reconstructing the interior of the house, by running water, gas and electricity under the home, and the accepted plan involved a standard easy to maintain heating system. Bernie's staff were responsive -- quickly -- kindly, and were honest and professional.

I recommend them highly. They were recommended to me by somebody I know. I had a bad experience with another plumbing company previously. They were excellent. Their cost was less than the estimate we got because they didn?t have to take down and put in as much new piping.
Description of Work: I used Bernie's Plumbing & Heating. They altered the plumbing so that the kitchen sink into an outdoor faucet doesn’t go through the water softener that doesn’t have salt in it.

I often do this kind of work myself, but didn't want to haul out the old hot water heater because it wouldn't drain (full of crud) and was very heavy. They removed it and installed a new one with no troubles. Price was reasonable and they were professional. The toe-kick heater was also effortless on my part and worked great.
Description of Work: New water heater + removal of old. Also hooked-up a toe-kick heater in our kitchen that runs off of our hot-water heating system.

I was disappointed because I found this plumber on Angie's List! I emailed and asked for an estimate for repairing a drip under a single vanity bathroom sink with my full address and was told approx. $140. Then the plumber arrived, was very nice, kind to my dog, said I had been quoted $140 but it would be more like $200, fine I said. I showed him to the bathroom and after trying a few things he diagnosed the problem as being more serious than originally thought because the sink bowl hole was damaged where it meets the pipe, perhaps from the original install or from a faucet upgrade by a professional, said he couldn't be sure but the sink needed to be replaced. He measured under the sink, told me I needed to buy a new sink (personally to go and get it myself, had no idea what to even look for-asked him if he could measure it for me). He estimated the cost to replace the sink would be $500. He didn't charge me for this visit and he shut off the water to the sink and took part of the under sink piping with him along with the drain pull. I was surprised by the cost (which didn't include the replacement sink), so I emailed about it and they said they would be adding an additional travel time of $189.00 because I lived out of the area. I absolutely know that they could not have diagnosed the problem without seeing it and that an estimate is an estimate and the problem was more serious than it seemed. I don't have a problem with that, not at all. What I do have a problem with-I wish they had mentioned this area thing originally when I emailed with my address for a quote because if I'd known they were/I was out of the area I would have just called another place, not a problem. But now I had a shut off sink, missing it's piping and no more drain pull that matched the faucets and had to spend time researching online to find out that I had a 18" overmount single center set bathroom sink so I even knew what I was trying to replace.
Description of Work: The plumber came out on time and diagnosed a leak under a single bathroom vanity as being a damaged sink bowl, removed plumbing under sink, shut off the water to the sink, told me the bowl needed to be replaced and advised I look at Lowes and Home Depot for sinks, he measured the sink for me. Estimated that replacing the sink would cost $500. Plumber left to go to next job.

Very unpleased... They were on time and finished when they said they would be. They were prepared and did not need to leave the site during the job. Later I had to have a city of Longmont inspector sign off on the work and he asked me if the plumber had given my the copper from the removed pipes. Because the house was built around 1960 all the pipes are of heavy copper including the drains and traps. All this copper was removed as scrap but sense I bought the house it was my scrap and should have been asked. I guess they made more money off of me than I thought. Seemed trustworthy but watch out. And there is still water under my house in the area that was "fixed" that I need to investigate.
Description of Work: Re-plumed kitchen sink, and added venting. Added venting to bathroom and re-plumed bathroom sink and toilet. Fixed leak in tub and took out extra trap.

Technician inspected the furnace for the season, and installed a new kitchen faucet which I had purchased separately. He was on time, the work went quickly, and he did a good job. The bill arrived the next week, however, and it was extremely high: $300 for slightly more than an hour's labor.
