After three months my refrigerator is still not working properly. Appointments made have been skipped with no call to inform me not to wait. Trying to get someone on the phone in the service department has been an ordeal. The technicians have been courteous and pleasant to deal with, but getting the service department to arrange a return call has been impossible.

Description of Work: We an ice maker that had stopped working, the technician diagnosed it quickly and ordered a replacement. When he came back he was able to install it in under 15 minutes which lowered installation cost. One does have to pay a service cost regardless. But we were happy as he took care of the problem very quickly and efficiently.

Description of Work: Called this contractor...they want $132 just to come out and review the problem. All repairs are above and beyond this with a second visit required, normally.

So you have not received any service and are giving us a rating of F because our rates are too high? Just trying to understand how to satisfy your negative experience. We continuously review the service rates in our area and feel that we are inline with competitor rates. We realize that the service industry and appliance repair is challenging yet we strive to provide service to the Eagle Valley and have been locally owned and operated for over 12 years. Unfortunately, rates are reflective of the very high cost of living and our dedication to providing our employees with the ability to live in our Valley. Also, we are warranty authorized on everything we sell - the only dealer that provides this service in our area. Though appliance repair is a challenging field we feel we provide the very highest level of customer service. We are the only dealer in our area that hires and trains in house installers and technicians. We are sorry you do not like our service rates and hope that you would reconsider this negative posting. Our 14 local employees all work hard to fulfill our customer's needs and we are a company that cares.

I have used this company on several occasions between summer 2009 and spring 2011. Note that at some point between the first service and the next time I used this company, the service manager changed and in my opinion, the service deteriorated. 1) The first time was in summer 2009 for what turned out to be a simple repair to my refrigerator's ice maker. Technician came out and fixed the problem quickly, charge was $125 for the service call. This was a good experience. 2) The second time was in October 2010 for a washing machine repair in my rental unit. Charge was $125 for the service call, machine worked until April 2011 when I spent an additional $394 to repair the washing machine. The machine has been working since that time. Setting up the repair was challenging since I was on vacation and my tenants were not able to make progress without my calling the service department several times to try to speed things up. But that kind of thing is typical of repair work in the Vail Valley. 3) Finally, in December 2010, I called Alpine Appliance to fix the dishwasher in my rental unit which was only four years old and my tenant said was not working properly. The technician said that it needed a new electronic "board" and placed an order. The board arrived and was installed by the technician at a cost of $319 (total for board and installation). The board was installed after my existing tenant moved out and before my new tenants moved in. Upon my new tenants moving in, the dishwasher would not run. This is where it gets interesting... The service manager told me I could just call General Electric since they made the bad board and it wasn't his responsibility. He said that General Electric made low quality products and it wasn't his fault I had purchased one. He was very combative and clearly would not stand behind his company's work. Sadly, I was forced into a corner at this point because I had new tenants who needed a working dishwasher immediately. I found a satisfactory model in stock at Home Depot but at that time Home Depot had discontinued delivery and installation services which didn't work for me. I ended up spending another $850 with Alpine Appliance on a new dishwasher and installation. At this time, I would only use Alpine Appliance to repair this particular appliance, for which I also purchased their extended warranty. I would not use them again for anything else unless it was an extreme emergency. Unfortunately, there are very few options for professional appliance repair in this area and you do what you have to. This form is clearly set up to report one service call at a time so it has been a bit challenging to try to force this into one review. The approximate service date above is the last time I used this company. The dollar amount is the total spent for all of the services.
Description of Work: I have used this company on several occasions between summer 2009 and spring 2011. 1) Repair of icemaker on refirgerator/freezer - not sure what was done but it took about five minutes and it has been working ever since. 2) Repair of washing machine in rental unit. First visit removed stray objects (coins and small toys) that had made their way to the inside of the machine. Second visit replaced a pump. 3) Repair/replacement of dishwasher in rental unti. First visit identified the problem. Second visit installed the new electornics which immediately failed. Third visit replaced the machine due to failure of repair.

My appliance manufacturer contacted this company to perform a warranty repair on my washing machine (they are the authorized service provider in my area). They were prompt in sending a tech out to evaluate the problem but after that they were unresponsive and stopped communicating with me. When I finally did speak to them on the phone they told me that they didn't really want to make the repair and that I should contact the manufacturer again. They also stated that they would contact the manufacturers regional represenative, but over a week later I still haven't heard anything back. Overall I believe they were very unprofessional, and it seemed that they really weren't interested in servicing appliances that they had not originally sold.
Description of Work: These guys were contacted by the appliance manufacturer to perform a warranty repair. After evaluating the problem they refused to perform the repair.
