DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. So surprised this company was "screened and approved" by Angie's List / Home Advisor. Rick was very unprofessional and ineffective. Not only did he fail to fix my refrigerator, but it was in worse shape after his “repair”. He spent most of the time telling me all about the terrible qualities of my relatively new, French door style refrigerator and why it’s so hard to fix. He was advising me on what type of refrigerator I should buy next: the oldest, simplest kind I can find, preferably used. Is that because it’s the only kind he knows how to fix?!? I’m not even in the market for a new refrigerator – although I might be, now that he tried to fix this one. I should have stopped him after he asked me how to turn the refrigerator off. He admitted that he doesn’t know how to fix refrigerators with computers. He also confessed that he had to watch a bunch of youtube videos to figure out how fix the more modern models. When he was having trouble removing the back panel, he asked me to do it so that if it broke, it wouldn’t be his fault. I said I wasn’t comfortable doing that because I was not the expert. He said he’d do it as long as I don’t “b-i-t-c-h” (his words, not mine) if it breaks and make him pay for it out of his own pocket. He didn’t have the right tools for the job. I had to lend him my hair dryer and extension cord so that he could melt the ice buildup. He ended up breaking the panel anyways and also broke the foam insulation behind the panel into a hundred little pieces. He didn’t offer to replace it. I didn’t press the issue because he assured me it wouldn’t affect the operation of the refrigerator. Looking at the giant crack drives me nuts though. Not only was my refrigerator STILL not cooling 24 hours after his “repair” but now there is a loud humming noise that was never there before. It was doing that right after he finished working and he wasn’t sure what it was and – I kid you not – he said sometimes you just have to bang the appliance to get the noises to stop. The humming started again about 20 minutes after he left. He was trying to get me to sympathize with him on the fact that he’s going out of business. He said it’s because he doesn’t charge enough. Pretty sure it has more to do with the fact that he is incompetent, hasn’t kept up with technology and has now become obsolete. I ended up having to hire another repairman directly through GE to actually fix the refrigerator.
