Description of Work: Horrible. Has taken several re-visits to correct basic sprinkler system issues. That should’ve been fixed the first time. They use cheap materials and labor does not speak English to understand anything.

This is the worst company in Denver for landscaping. The builders hire them and they do terrible substandard work, as far as my opinion goes. They never show up on time, their employees cannot communicate with homeowners, and they don't do what you and the builder agree are the needed repairs. They use cheapest materials and poor labor. I would not ever trust them to do anything with a high level of quality. And my builder, Lennar, seems to be at their mercy. Very sad for homeowners who spend so much money for a new home and this is what they get.

We recently moved into a newly constructed home in Arvada. Metco had been hired to install the front lawns for the development. Once moved in we were responsible for mowing our small front yard. My husband asked the developer who they had hired to mow the lawns of the homes not yet sold and was told to call Levi (sp) with Metco to arrange to have our lawn mowed. Levi told my husband he couldn't or wouldn't send a bill and insisted my husband leave $25.00 under the door mat on the front porch the day of service. When my husband returned later that day the lawns around us were mowed, but not ours. My husband called Levi, who insisted there was no money left under the mat. My husband told Levi there were only 2 people that knew the money was there; himself and Levi. No attempt was made by Levi (a representative of Metco) to reconcile the problem.

My wife drew up a detailed design for what she wanted and when we met with the Metco project lead, he got the gist right away. He visited several times and we discussed all the aspects of the project, while we were waiting on the HOA to give us the go ahead. he also met us as the nursery to pick out trees. He initially showed us the standard #7 trees, but told us it would take some time for them to grow in. Since we wanted more of an instant screen, I was already thinking about the larger #15 trees, and he got us a great deal on them. He special ordered them, and they arrived just in time. The crew showed up on time each day and Brian checked in with us each morning to make sure everything was going as planned. They brought 4-5 workers each day and they worked diligently and professionally. We were installing a paver patio with an irregular pattern, which was a little confusing. The worker had never worked with that type of paver before, so the first quarter took him a while, but once he got the hang of it, the rest went in smoothly. We hadn't asked for a pathway on the side of the house in our original plan, but Brian suggested we put one in to make it easier to get the lawn mower into the backyard. It was a great suggestion. It looks good and will be far easier than just the loose river rock we planned to use. We also wanted to bring in some rocks. Brian was excited to pick them out for us, so we let him, and they are awesome. They also installed 2 new zones for our sprinkler system. Brian spent some time with me explaining how the whole system worked and offered to adjust it again once the lawn settles. Start to finish the project took 5 days. It probably would have taken me 5 months and a case of Motrin. Overall we are not only thrilled with the result, we enjoyed the entire process. Every time Brian showed up he had a great attitude and seemed truly excited about the project, which made it all the more enjoyable for us. He was responsive to all of our concerns and issues.
Description of Work: The cost of the total effort was $16K, but we got the builder to pay $10K of the bill, so it was only $6K out of pocket. The project was to start from a bare, weed infested mess of a backyard for a new construction home, install a lawn, sprinklers, place river rocks around the foundation, create a flowing, irregular patio, put in a flagstone pathway, bring in larger accent rocks, and plant 25 trees/shrubs.

We did have some problems afterwards and they came right out and solved the problem. They were just wonderful. My husband is difficult to please and he was very happy with the quality. I like that they are well know in the area and they strive to please their customers.
Description of Work: They did the landscaping in my rear yard that included a sprinkler system and the sod.

Given a choice, I would never hire this landscaping company.
Description of Work: Metco was hired by the property developer, Morrison Homes, to landscape the front and back yards of my new home. The developer's bid was very low, which resulted in what I consider to be a substandard installation by Metco. The yard was much too large for such a low bid, and I believe Metco should not have accepted the offer. The result of Metco's cutting corners is an unsightly yard 3/4 full of river-rock, for which I will now need pay to have hauled away. Two trees were improperly planted (too high above ground), and a broken sprinkler vacuum caused a major flood in my front yard and down the foundation of the house (this was even before they turned on the sprinkler system). Metco was scheduled to install lawn the first week of May, and to my knowledge hasn't installed lawn yet (end of May). As I haven't yet fully moved in and am not there to speak directly with anyone, I can only guess as to reasons for their delay.
