Very professional company. The scheduling woman was helpful with estimating the time, and I love it when companies are willing to estimate over the phone. She was very clear and up-front about their prices and fees, and it matched what I was charged after the work. It's also essential to note they are bonded & insured, and they warranty the work for 1 year! Mike was not a stickler with the clock at all. If anything, he rounded off the time in my favor, and this is reassuring to a constomer who is paying by the hour. You don't have to worry about being over-charged with him. Also, he didn't try to do overly detailed work so the clock would run longer. Although, I would suggest you let them know in advance if you would like the work to be perfectly detailed and flawless. That way they know they have your permission and pre-approval to take longer and be meticulous. He is a little quiet, so if you have ideas or opinions about how you want the work done you gotta speak up and tell him beforehand or stay close by during the repair. I've seen Grandma's ads in the Angie's List magazine for a while now, but I was hesitant. After working with them, I now know there was nothing to fear. They exceeded my expectations.

Very satisifed with repairs. They were done quickly and the quality of work was very good. David suggested a solution for the front door that I hadn't considered and was cheaper than replacing the entire lock. Everything went smoothly.

He came unprepared to do the work that I specifically hired them for, even after I described in detail, what would be needed. After completing one job, the light bulb replacement, he wanted to leave even though I had requested an hour of service. He was not skilled and/or prepared to do the other services, so I had him do tasks I could have just done myself. He was slow and he tried to cheat me at the end by overcharging me on the agreed upon price. He quickly backed down when confronted.

Very professional. My elderly father was the only one home and the handyman was on time, very patient while explaining things to my dad, did a great job in a timely manner, and cleaned up after himself. We will definitely keep using Grandma's when we need a handyman!

I have used them twice now; once for a plumbing job and the other for simply an estimate. They have always been professional, on time, and priced appropriately. I have already recommended them to a friend for plumbing services which she used and was also pleased. Top rate company and Grandma is very personable and professional and always meets her commitments.

The guy came on time and the price was just fine. He did the work in less time than I thougt it would take. They are the best I've ever had for handymen work.

I called the company and explained the situation of the steps being broken loose from the porch. Since the steps were a safety hazard to whomever used them, the company said they would schedule the repair for the next day. Mike, the employee provided by the company arrived as scheduled. He assessed the problem and was very knowledgable as to how to secure the steps to the porch. He worked very hard and completed the job in a minimal amount of time. I was very pleased with the results of the job.

They were on time and gave me a call to let me know they were on their way. There were two gentlemen who came and respected my home. Based on our previous conversation, he had brought all the equipment and supplies they needed to do the job properly. He took into consideration the location of the faucet to make it easy for me to reach and a new type of faucet, making it easy for me to use. They were very professional yet friendly and honored their estimate although he had to do some extra work to achieve my need. They were great and if they are a representation of all of Grandma's handymen, I'll use them again and again. I've already recommended them to a friend of my son's who needs plumbing help. Great company.

The Master Plumber, Tom D'Agustino was very accommodating, professional and easy to work with. He went out of his way to help me coordinate with the masons and did the work just as he said he would. He let me know exactly when he would be here and what he was going to do. When he unexpectedly needed to replace a broken shut off valve at one of the toilets, he told me exactly what the issue was and asked for an OK before he did it. I am completely satisfied with the work.

Did not use this service, as the estimate was higher than I could afford. However, Grandma's is very professional, courteous, and prompt.

Mike met me at the appointed time. He looked at the job, told me what he thought needed to be done and gave me a bid to do the work. I called Grandma and scheduled the work. Mike showed up earlier than planned and was already working when I arrived (at 8AM) He completed the work in about a half a day. Two days later he returned to remove the wooden forms and cleaned up. I'm pleased with the job he did and would definitely consider him if I need any more minor concrete work done. He doesn't do big jobs only smaller ones. I was especially pleased with the senior discount.

Other companies failed to show up for appointments, but I called Grandma's, described what I needed, she gave me a ball park figure of ~$200. She scheduled her concrete repairman, he showed up right on time, gave me a $160.00 estimate, which included a little more than I had described. He completed the job, cleaned up, and was gone in a couple of hours. They were really easy to work with, even when we had to reschedule due to weather, and I was very happy to get one more item off my list of spring time repairs. Would definitely recommend them for any type of too small for others concrete work.

The work took much longer than estimated and cost considerably more. In addition, workmanship was poor.

I am blown away! I needed two chandeliers replaced, normally I would do this type of work myself, however one of the chandeliers was 19 feet in the air, the other 18 feet. Arranged for the work to be done within a week, and he showed up right on time, and got right to work. Honest as the day was long, as the work was well under the estimated cost due to a deal he got on a rental ladder, and he passed the deal on to me! Got the work done in one hour, amazing, no BS just a great, quick job! I am truly amazed it was so smooth, and for all intensive purposes inexpensive! Thanks for being so good!

Did as well as he could under the circumstances.

Went EXTREMELY well. Very nice man came with a very long ladder. He put the windown shutters back in place and also went ahead and tightened the other shutters so that they would not fall as easily. Very good work and less money than I expected.

Grandma's Handyman Service was responsive to my initial phonecall and able to schedule a repairman to come out and address my work request in a timely manner. I had a variety of oddjobs that needed to be done and her repairman had the skillset to address each of these. He arrived on time, was polite, knowledgeable and did the work efficiently. This is usually a concern when hiring someone at an hourly rate. The level and scope of expertise that he showed for a variety of tasks was impressive for a general handyman service. Grandma has a policy of following up on every service call she provides by leaving a prepaid postcard to fill out and mail back to her rating the work that was done and your overall experience with her company. I gave her handyman straight 10s (which connotes "perfect" as compared to excellent, very good or satisfactory) with the exception of one "9" due to a slight imperfection in a very difficult floor retrofit. When Yvonne (aka Grandma) received the card back in the mail she immediately called me and asked what she could do to make the repair job a "perfect 10". She scheduled a time to come out and take a look at the floor herself. At no extra charge to me, she brought a local flooring specialist along with her to assess what could be done to correct the very minor problem. I was very impressed with her attention to detail and blown away by her dedication to achieving a 100% customer satisfaction rate. Most other handyman businesses would have been content with getting a "9" out of a possible perfect score of "10" but not Yvonne! Since then, I have continued to use her services and remain duly impressed with the quality of work and level of professionalism that she demands from her employees, as well as her unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. These are old world qualities that are very rare and almost impossible to find these days. I give Grandma's Handyman Service a big thumbs up for going above and beyond the norm and reinstating my trust in a local service provider.

On time, great communication. Did just what we wanted.

They were great. The handyman they were going to send out had a death in the family on the day he was supposed to come out and they were absolutely all over it. They called me, told me what happened, and tried to find something that they could do; they even offered to send me to another handyman service. The work we needed wasn?t an emergency so we just told them to reschedule use as soon as things at their office calmed down. The only problem we had was that we were pretty specific about the work that we needed done including a new light fixture that needed installed. When the gentleman came out, it turned out he didn?t have the skills to do that so he couldn?t do that part of the project. That was a little disappointing but the rest of it was just fine. The price was average; I didn?t think it was fabulous but it wasn?t awful either. The quality was excellent; we haven?t even bothered to paint one of the drywall patches that this guy did because you can?t even tell that it is there. They were very responsive considering the circumstances and he was right on time.

I used them at one point but they did not do a good job. They did nothing that they were supposed to and I had to call somebody else. They were very nice about it and gave my money back. It was not particularly challenging stuff but they couldn't get it done. I would not use them again.

Called Grandma's and explained the problem and she stated that Mike could surely help the situation and grind the cement. She described Mike and explained that he had done cement work for a number of years. Additionally I had read about Mike on Angies list so knew he had satisfied a number of customers. I met Mike at my son's house (I arrived 15 minutes before the appointment and so did Mike). Mike took a look at the floor and covered the outlying area with plastic sheeting to encase the work area to minimize floating cement dust. Mike went right to work and started to grind the floor. He worked very hard and did not stop untill the high spot was grinded down to where the door opened with minimal sticking. I was very pleased with the improvement allowing us to do a permanent cement demo and replace when the weather warms up. I was pleasantly surprised as to the price and very happy I chose Grandma's.

Did a great job. Neat, polite and considerate (ex: brought an extra pair of shoes so as not to wear snowy ones in the house). He patiently held the new chandelier up in various positions for me to look at so I could decide where I wanted it. A small problem is that he installed the new electrical outlet upside down - but, this was no big deal as it functions the same either way.
