My call to set up an appointment was completely professional, friendly, and informative. Grandma told me the name of the handyman, what he would look like, and what he would do. The handyman arrived right on time, and was friendly and professional. He performed everything from looking at the job requirements, making a trip to the home improvement store, and replacing a broken toilet, fixing a leaking faucet, and replacing a broken wall switch - all within less than 4 hours. I have worked with a lot of contractors and none has ever accomplished this much in this amount of time. The only less than perfect aspect of the job was some chipped paint on the wall beneath the replaced light switch. Other than that, I could not have been more impressed and satisfied with this job. I will definitely be using Grandma's again for handyman services.

We are thrilled with this company. They answered when we called. They scheduled a time and showed up when scheduled. They described who would be coming to our home. He was professional, and did excellent work. We will definitely call this company again.

Making an appointment with 'Grandma' was fun and easy. She told me exactly who she would be sending and described him so that I would feel comfortable. Michael arrived right on time, we reviewed the work needed and determined he should get the big ladder and go right up into the extremely high stairwell to pull one of the bulbs so that I could run out and get replacements. While I was gone he polished the fixtures with a microfiber cloth and installed the bulbs as soon as I returned (which, fortunately, wasn't long). This is a project that we do about every ten years, but I'm certainly not up for going up that ladder! While Michael was working on one of the other chores, I discovered that one of the back steps from the garage to the side yard was totally loose and was a serious hazard. He jumped right on that and fixed it securely. Additionally, after completing all the other chores, Michael spent a good deal of time trying to install a "kick-up" door sweep that wasn't really a quality product and just wouldn't work correctly. He felt really bad about it, although it wasn't his fault since I'm the one who bought the product. He even knocked some time off the charges because it took so long. It's great when you find a terrific service like this one!

Very pleased with the quality of service I received from Grandma's Handyman. I had a whole "honey-do" list and James handled it with ease, professionalism and courtesy. I will definitely be calling them again! Thank you!

The job went very well from start to finish. Bill came and worked consistantly until he was finished.

They were awesome. They were reasonably priced. Everything looks great. I would definitely recommend them. Once you find somebody that can do a job well, it is always a good idea to hold on to them. Their cleanup was fine.

We got them off Angie's List. We call them anytime anything goes wrong. The person had to be here for a while as he had to get the right hinges and stuff. Everybody they set out was excellent from an electrician to a carpenter for each type of job. The guy who fixed the door was excellent too. I would grade them highly across the board.

The handyman was exactly on time and well prepared. He was extremely neat and tidy, he laid plastic over our carpet so he wouldn't track in dirt and taped himself into the closet where the drywall was being repaired. He worked quickly and efficiently and even clocked out when he left while waiting for the mud to dry before finishing the texture. Another note, my young son was napping during part of the job and the handyman was considerate about the amount of noise he made during this time. The completed work is good quality and I would call them again for small jobs around the house. We got a couple bids on this work and the price from Grandmas was competitive.

They were able to reassure us that it was not a roof leak, but from condensation in our bathroom fan.

I called talked to the owner-discussed the service-made an appointment-he arrived right on time in fact 2 min early-changed the toilet seats-gave me the bill I gave him a check and then he left--all went well

He came out the same day that I called. He was kind and took his time with the work. It was a very good experience. I would hire him again in the future.

Michael arrived on time, prepared with the correct vent duct, and was extremely professional throughout. He has done this kind of work before, which was very evident. I would have fallen into several traps if I had tried to do this myself. Well worth the very reasonable cost to have an experienced professional on the job. We will definately use Grandma's Handyman Service for future tasks that I think are above my head.

Handyman originally quoted replacing roof channels as he felt it was originally installed backwards. As I do not go up on ladders anymore I trusted his judgement. After 90 minutes handyman informed me that replacement was not possible as original job channels had been installed covering roof shingles and could not be removed. He advised only sealing leak area with waterproof caulking. I had him proceed but I felt that I had been taken at that point Caulking seemed to go well in small bathroom. Handyman proceeded to master bathroom. He dismantled the sealing strips (2) and replaced one. He proceed to caulk areas. He then went out to procure vertical strip taking original seal with him. Hours later he contacted me that strip was not available and had ordered replacement from Home Depot.When he returned that day he went over caulking OVER caulking in both bathrooms, He said both bathrooms would be safe to use late that night or early morning. The next morning my wife complained of seeing loose caulking in her small bath. Same result in masterbath. I have used contractors for over 20 years both personally and in various businesses. This service was a major mistake, Owner, Yvonne came down a week later to inspect my complaints. She agreed with some complaints and said she would get back after conferring with handyman. Result was she would recaulk some areas but not do over complete job. I felt that that the handyman and owner were both over there heads and file charge back with credit card company and had another handyman service do over their job (Handyman Matters-later report on file). Also original quote was in price segments and handyman "make job" service was way overpriced as they then changed invoice to time and materials.

Grandma's Handyman provides excellent service. Michael was prompt, professional, very courteous, and skillful. There is also thought put into making the pricing affordable. I would highly recommend Grandma's for your future projects. I know I will be calling again.

Scheduled with Barb at Grandma's. Told her my problem and she went through the schedule, checked the weather, as this would be outdoor work and then made sure I had a name and background of the person she was going to send over. Person came over 15 minutes before his scheduled time, we talked over the issues, he took some measurements and at the exact time he was scheduled to start, he was driving towards Home Depot to get the materials needed for the job. He came back, didn't waste a minute, showed me how rotted the existing wood was and immediately went to work. Within two hours, the rafter tail and flashing was replaced, as well as caulked. Everything looked tight and professional and after I painted it, nobody would know that it wasn't part of the original framework of our home. Afterwards, I mentioned another woodworking project (a breakfast nook) I would like to be built in the future and the handyman was very honest, saying he wasn't the man for the job but Grandma's had somebody who would do a very good job with this. Barb, expect a call from us in 2012!

The handy man called to say he would be about 15 minutes late a prior job needed extra time. He arrived 45 minutes late. He worked very slowly, would measure, go out to his truck get one item come back in the go out 2 minutes later get another item. Definitely could tell he was getting paid by the hour not by the job. He replaced one hinge on the cabinet and said it was ok. The door did not close properly, had to have him come back another time to replace the other hinge. On the second trip he was difficult because I had complained about his work. He said it was not his fault the cabinet door was not square, he never used a level or tried to make the hinges were evenly placed. I would not reccomended this service.

Called and asked for an estimate on a countertop job with an intricate configuration and hadn't found anyone who would even take it on. Although there was a fee charged to come out for the estimate (which is eventually subtracted from the final bill), Mike assured me that he could to this job. We scheduled a time for the job to be done. He arrived on time and was very professional and attentive to detail. Although he had a family emergency and had to leave, I felt secure in the fact that Mike would complete the job even though I had to leave town. He came in by himself with no one home, completed the job and cleaned up after himself. He had pride in his work and did a wonderful job, even given the difficulties. The job was completed and we were charged a good and fair price for the work. Although this company charges alot more for their services than most regular handymen, they are efficient, guarantee their work, and are very trustworthy. In this instance, it was well worth the extra $$$. I would definitely hire them again.

The labor was $400. They were excellent. They were on time and professional. They are going to come back and do additional work when I am ready.

Grandma sent over a person who fixed what we wanted. He fixed it to my satisfaction. We will most like ask for them again in the future.
