Gardner Contracting LLC

The roof looks fantastic. I researched roofs and decided we wanted a GAF roof before looking for roofers. I selected Gardner Contracting as they were a GAF approved roofer, and had wonderful reviews from other GAF customers. We had originally requested an estimate on another GAF roof product, but when I changed to the GAF IR product, the salesman, Joel, gave me a new estimate without any delay. the GAF IR (Impact Resistant) shingles were preferred by our insurance company. There was a foreman on site at all times cleaning up the material around the yard as the work was done. When the job was complete I went around the house and was very pleased at how clean it was. The foreman had a run in with a large and small rattle snack on our front porch. He called the salesman to let him know and the salesman reminded him that we have a young child, so the foreman trapped the small snake, (the large snake got away into the open space) immediately called Douglas Co sheriff to remove the small snake. I also added some gutters to the porch area, and Joel recommended a company they had worked with in the past. Joel coordinated the date of gutter installation, which was great. It's been 1 1/2 years since the installation and have had no problems, no leaks and the roof looks GREAT!! Roof was approved by Douglas Co Inspectors.

We called Gardner Roofing because of their listing on Angie's List and couldn't be more pleased. When I called them it was during a break in the storms we had in the area and they came over within two hours to check out the damage done to our roof. Mike worked with our insurance company to make sure the adjuster agreed with his inspection of the damage. When Mike came out to do the work, with one of his best roofers, he was great! He made sure that the repair was done quickly and correctly. The estimate he gave us fell below what we expected and because they are right down the street if we have any other problems they told us to call them. I asked Mike the name for a company to do the sheetrock repairs for the damage and he gave me one. My husband and I both have lung conditions, which Mike was considerate enough to ask about. Mike informed the sheetrock contractor the we should have priority service when we called them so we don't have an issue with mold. Our experience with Gardner Roofing was so delightful primarily because of their employees. From my first conversation with Kendall to our final conversation with Mike, everyone has gone over and above our expectations. Our experience with Gardner Contracting has been spectacular!!

Gardner worked with the insurance company to get them to cover required work. We had a problem with the skylights because the insurance company didn't want to replace with the type we had. Gardner managed to work it out in our favor. Work was excellent. It was prompt, efficient and clean. No mess left behind. We have recommended them to others.

I like them a lot. We were just subscribers. There was a big hailstorm. I had some issues and they took care of it immediately, the next day.

I didn't even let them do the work. They were not the successful bidder. Only one guy came out and he was here maybe 10 minutes. He said it was too windy and he couldn't do anything about it and left. He did a computerized satellite image of our house and then dropped the ball completely. He never did get a window quote done for us. He told us that the windows were a favorite with customers and that's not what they did anyway. He was the owner's son. His dad, the owner, made his son give us a 15 percent discount because of the way he handled our bid process, but I already didn't trust him. I chose not to use him because I didn't feel like they were responsive or detailed enough or really wanting the business. Their quote, after the discount, was just for the roof and gutters. They never did come through with the window quote. We had 11 damaged windows. The quote was reasonable compared to what we are actually paying now. Their quote ended up less than the bid we accepted from the other company but it's been a totally different experience and worth the value. I didn't hear from him and I had to prompt him in order to get him to respond. He didn't send a window guy until a couple weeks later. That person thought that our window brand had been discontinued which of course it hadn't. The windows are pretty popular. They chose someone who wasn't very knowledgeable on replacement windows. I finally got the bid in mid-July without the windows. They only followed up once after that and I didn't hear from them anymore. Ironically 2 weeks ago the window company called and asked if we still had the bid open. She was calling the home owner and thought she was actually calling Gardner Contracting. She didn't know that they had never delivered the window bid to the home owner. That's when I told her that we were the home owners and we never got a window bid from Gardner. These poor people took the time to come out and process a bid and submitted to the contractor to be provided to us. The contractor just never did do it. We really didn't have a very good experience with Gardner. We would never use them in the future.

I got my required three bids and decided to go with Chuck Gardner. (1) Chuck came highly recommended from a trusted neighbor. (2) He personally inspected my very high two story roof and found items the adjuster did not. The adjuster was not allowed to go above the first level of the house due to company regulations. (3) Gardner contracting does not subcontract his work. There are team members who have worked with Chuck for years. (4) Gardner contracting handled all phases of the outside work that needed to be done.(5) negotations with the insurance company. (6) Last but not least, Chuck kept me apprised of what was happening with every aspect of the job, untill completion and to my satisfaction
