Ben's Glass and Mirror

Price: Originally I asked for glass replacement estimates for multiple windows, including two at this particular location. Due to communication break-down, the installer brought in two glasses while I was only ready for one. Although no email or estimate in writing was ever issued by Ben's, I assumed the blame and effectively agreed to pay extra $40 for not taking the other glass. Responsiveness; I asked for email estimates for windows at several locations, got none so far. Punctuality; The first appointment was originally set to Friday. No one showed. I called in the afternoon and was told then the appointment had to be rescheduled. The 9/20 appointment was scheduled for 1pm to 2pm. The installer showed up late but failed to call in advance.

I was psyched when I found Ben's Glass; a small mom and pop operation near my house with out a fancy showroom and pretentious sales staff. I ordered a custom euro-style frameless glass shower door and some glass shelves from them. Their prices were absolutely fantastic - approximately half of what I was quoted by some of the larger glass distributors in the area. The shower door came in with in a week and all seemed great - until installation time. The people they sent over to install the door were absolutely incompetent. They broke several tiles trying to drill holes for the hinges with a large powerful hammer drill. I was kept waiting around for hours and hours for them to show up and all in all it took approx a month and countless headaches to get the door installed. The glass shelves finally materialized after more than a month, although they did reduce the price from $100 to $20 because of all the problems with the shower door. The bottom line with these guys is their prices are excellent but the service and reliability, terrible! If I ever order from them again, it will be for materials only. I will never have them install anything EVER.

Frank came to my work to replace the windshield. Driving home, wind was gushing through the holes around the glass. He came the next day and tried twice to fix the holes. On Monday, I called to get the work done right and Frank was on vacation. I asked for work to be finished that day, but the other installer was busy for the week. I asked to be put on a waiting list. Two weeks passed with no word from them. I called and there was a new person in the office and one of the installers was gone. I asked for my money back, which was deferred to the manager. I asked to have the manager call me. After three more days and two more calls, during which time the manager did not call, I finally got ahold of Nicole, the manager. She set up an appointment for Saturday at my home. She called on Saturday to cancel the appointment. I demanded my money back which she refused. After much discussion, she finally sent someone to fix the windshield. This is the worst service, I ever received.

The company is now called Ben's glass and the address is really on Iola Street. The staff was very helpful. My original appointment information was lost, but they were still able to order the glass needed for my job and replace my windshield the same day. I had to come back a couple of hours later, but that wasn't a problem for me that day. The work itself was done in 20 or 30 minutes. They don't currently accept credit cards. Call first to check.

I called for a quote & made an appointment for 2 days later. Once I arrived my car was worked on immediately & the windshield was replaced within in a very short amount of time. This was the second time I used this company & I highly recommend them to all my friends.
