Description of Work: Security system installed on 5/24/13. On 5/29/13 system malfunctioned and was constantly beeping. 2 calls to ADT did not remedy the problem. 2nd operator asked me to go to attic and disable. I fell in the attic and shattered my shoulder. Alarm was still beeping upon return from ER. Called again and ADT said this problem was not part of warranty and wanted $300 to send tech. My husband eventually was able to disable alarm. When local tech came to check system one of the key pads was defective. ADT took 2 months off our bill AND sent us late payment notices for bills that were paid at time of service.

Description of Work: I have been a customer for many years, my original provider having been bought out by ADT. I needed a service call and that's when the problems started. They confirmed an appt for a time I didn't have an appt. I returned the call and was assured I had no appt at the time that was confirmed via telephone message. I made another appt. Someone did show at the original time, but no one showed for the second appt I made. On and on it goes until I finally get a technician, my problem is solved and I pay the day of service. Two months later on my regular monthly billing there is an additional $138 charged - basically for the trip that was made for an appt I was told I didn't have. I called and after much hullabaloo I got a credit for the erroneous charges. Next monthly billing, there is a partical credit, however they have billed the entire amount again! I called one more time and asked for a manger. Spoke with a Customer Relations Manager and was basically given the run around again. After 30 minutes of futile conversation I cancelled the account. I was told there would be termination charges and I responded that I had no contract so they could not charge me. I was told I did have a contract and I told them to prove it. Of course he came back and told me I didn't have a contract - they would cancel the account and as a good-will gesture would zero the account out. I had no problem with their monitoring service, but Customer Service is the WORST.

+ -1 moreI AM VERY HAPPY THAT I CHOSE ADT AS OUR ALARM COMPANY. THEY DO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT IS GOING ON AT MY HOUSE AND CALL IF THEY FEEL THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM. IT IS GREAT TO KNOW THEY ARE WATCHING OUT FOR US AND NOT JUST TAKING OUR SERVICE FEES EACH MONTH AND FORGETTING ABOUT US.
Description of Work: I PURCHASED A HOME LAST YEAR AND NOTICED THERE WAS AN ALARM SYSTEM IN THE CLOSET. I CALLED ADT TO ACTIVATE IT. THEY CAME OUT PROMPTLY. THE ALARM SYSTEM WAS VERY OLD SO I NEEDED TO HAVE IT UPDATED. THE TECHNICIAN CAME OUT AND IN A FEW HOURS IT WAS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN.
